That wasn’t too bad. $63 in store credit. If you are a seller on eBay at $80 minus shipping and fees you end up with around $60

AND you also have to deal with people not paying when they bid and re listing. .
@portalmasterry67655 ай бұрын
@@FictionalPersonality This is the biggest issue and that's why gamestop's approach might work since the transaction is between you and gamestop and they are BUYING. People think it's easy doing eBay and with the amount of scammers, shill bidders, non-payers, etc, it's easier to deal with gamestop. A big plus is you don't get a 1099 after selling your cards to gamestop. I am curious what is gamestop's plan for the purchased slabs. IF they are shipping them to a central "Vault" and selling the slabs online for market price then gamestop has the potential to full compete with eBay and TCGPlayer. Just like the scenario as a seller, buyers from gamestop will need to worry less about not getting their item or getting scammed since the transaction is between you and gamestop.

@PeachyAenne5 ай бұрын
The buyback price doesn't seem that bad like you said. I'm curious as how much they will turn around and sell it for. In my searching Gamestop doesn't really have the best prices for buying. I find that it's one of the more expensive place to buy pokemon cards
@POWDR5 ай бұрын
GameStop usually doesn’t have the best prices but they run the most sales. So it kind of evens out. Honestly buying retail aside from harder to get sets like 151 is not the move! Online card shops are best for that, Smoke n Mirrors is my favorite, pfootballpetex on ebay is also good!

Honestly that's really good. You're basically getting ebay prices after fees without the waste of shipping materials. I think fakes slabs will be hard if they are following the manual. They aren't taking older slabs right now so the ink would be the only one

Yeah thats my only worry! As long as the rules are followed it should avoid the fake slabs. But obviously some folks just genuinely dont care about their jobs and will do anything to stop talking to a customer.

Wonder if gamestop is looking at more than just reselling. Possibly resubmitting some cards and even sitting on others?
@WizardoftheGhost5 ай бұрын
I feel like psa may have put gamestop up to this and psa is pulling the proverbial strings. Does anyone else think this will cause a high demand for grading cards at psa in the near future? To me, this is the final nail in the coffin that decides where I will be sending my 10-20 favorite and most promising cards in terms on value. Psa could be attempting to corner the market in a big way even though gamestop has said they plan on accepting other companies slabs in the future as well as other graded collectables. I think this is a great move on gamestops part but the next step will be for gamestop to install display setups for their top graded products and possibly bump up security a bit....gamestop seems way to vulnerable to theft at this point. Anyways, great video, wish I got to see some footage or at least a few more cards offered to them.
