It's all about the mix really, mics that start at $3k and up all sound good. I have a Manley ref c and Sony c800g and they both sound similar once I start mixing then I really can't hear the different when I get the artist songs mastered.

That sounds good! I put the original Sony tube and capsule in the GA8000, as well as a few other original Sony parts, and it sounds even better now! The signal sounds wider and smoother, with more 3d depth.

Do you think it sounds better than the c800? What are the sound differences?
@Lanatemusic Жыл бұрын
I like it better , it sounds more like a finished record. My Sony did have better mid lows and a nice way of making takes sound better than you think. Overall for the cost the GA is hard to beat. Im keeping it.

@Karterstudio Жыл бұрын
@@isaiahhudson5470 I also have a ga 8000 and from my perspective it's hard to compare these microphones, both are very good, neumann can be shaped more, ga and sony are "ready"

@@isaiahhudson54702 different mics my man. U87ai is a beast of a solid state mic with a transformer and the Sony is a beast of a tube mic that's known to be hifi modern bright sound that cuts thru a mix.

Sounds so close to that Sony quality!! Couldn’t u just saturate some mids / lows to get it even closer to that $10,000 sound?

That’s excactly what I did.. still missing a little but I’m beyond satisfied coming from a Sony to this mic. It’s better than any other mic I’ll get compared to the Sony in this price range

Hard to compare being that I had a vintage c800 and not the G. The ga has a lot of the sound I did like about the G over my c800 which was the top end clarity. Sony has a clearer mid and mid lows. I’ve actually enjoyed creating on the GA just much as my Sony if not almost more. It has the perfect look and sound to make you wanna record. It’s about 85 percent of the way there sound wise to a real Sony. It’s a keeper.
@tecno8335 Жыл бұрын
I told you it was better.

I like it for the way I mix better but Sony is still the better mic. Better mids smoother top end but for the price GA nailed it about 80 percent there,
