Nice install. I took a slightly different approach with mine. I put the all in one into a big black storage box from Homebase which is a perfect fit, and weather proof. I placed this out side and then drilled 2 x 68mm holes in the side of the box to route the outlet pipe into the shed and one out of the shed into the other end of the unit so I recirculate warm air rather than heating it up from cold. Quicker and less fuel. All the noise and exhaust is safely outside, with the unit fed from an external power source via an old battery and charger.

If you’re going to use the mains hook up, don’t waste charging and discharging battery, you can use that elsewhere, get a transformer 240 to 12 volts, make sure amperage is high enough, and condensation can build up in lowest part of exhaust and cause a blockage, heater will show error code, 👌😊

If it’s a float charger, it will use very little mains power except while running, and a few minutes afterwards. Better than risking over-heating the machine if the mains fails while it is running. The little silencer has a weep hole to drain any condensation. The rest of the exhaust pie will be hot while running. Important thing is for the cooler part of the exhaust to be running downwards.

You might yet move your noisy diesel pump outside when you get fed up with it ticking away all the time. Need that combustion air intake going to the outside, too.🙂 I can’t think of any good reason for buying a portable heater unless it is used as such. A dip tube, into the tank for fuel extraction, has to be better than a bottom outlet, IMO. Enjoyed the video.

Please do a Fiat Scudo conversion as next project, would be nice to see how great solutions you will find in one of these small vans! David from Vandemonium has converted one of these, but you will be able to set a real glamping one on it's wheels... :-D Thx for letting us hang out with you in the van, err...shed! :-D

Diesel wont freeze :)
@oliver90owner2 жыл бұрын
It can go goopy if the temp drops low enough. Filters get blocked very easily if the fuel ‘waxes’. That’s why you get ‘winter’ diesel, at the pumps, for part of the year. I remember 1963 when the diesel did freeze.

how hot will the wood get against the exhaust ??? little worried !
