The problem for me with all the Dollar Tree referrals, is all the similar items crafters make. Sure, it fires the imaginations of true artist, but using original materials creates original art.

Really unusual and creative! I love sea glass and these are truly one of a kind. Thanks for sharing your talent. One safety hint: I think you should be wearing a mask when working with broken glass. Glass dust can cause something called white lung (much like black lung from coal dust) but even breathing in tiny amounts can cause damage.

Would take a lil more effort by counter sinking the on/off /battery piece on the back with a spade bit and drill a hole through to feed the lite string through and shape the wire lites in the tree form and then do all your glass tree steps. Be cool if theyd lite up :)

I would suggest you pay attention to the color combos for the bead ornaments. I would do like some traditional red silver and gold on the green tree , on the blue use silver, white and gold, on the white trees maybe just silver and gold .. But my point is to coordinate the ornament colors for a REALLY REFINED and polished look. For me Random colored beads on the trees would be a turn off since I usually stick to a color scheme for my real Christmas tree ..

If you don't like using resin, you could paint the tree with a product called Triple Thick.😊

@@MA-ts9qt It's a brush on gloss glaze which dries clear and is made by DecoArt and comes in different sizes. Available at most craft shops.🤗😋

Excuse my ignorance but what method do you use re crushing up glass and what type of glass do you use please And also what brand type of resin I live in NewZealand and love your creativity

Judy, I was not the person doing the crushed glass video. I just explained what Triple Thick was. Spotlight did have some crushed glass and Pete's Emporium stock smaller packs of resin/$20. They also stock the Triple Thick. Good luck! 🤗

Can you give a price range of what these sell for? I am NOT asking what you make in a year or at an art show but knowing what to charge is the absolute hardest thing - so if you could give a price range for small, medium and large pieces of your art would be amazing. I got excited there for a minute when I saw the calculator pop up! LoL I think you are amazing and I hit the thumbs up AND the subscribe button. Can't wait till the weekend to watch all of your videos and read through the comment sections under each one. I sometimes learn more from commenters than from YT content creators. I can see I won't be having that issue with your channel-you are a natural artist and teacher. Thank you for sharing with us 🙂

aww, you made my day! I agree that pricing is very tough. I charge $20-30 for these trees. add up your supplies, then add your time. That’s your price. Also pay attention to what other vendors are selling similar items for. Goof luck!

You use theA&B kind I’m gonna use UV and a light. Hope that doesn’t make too big of a difference but I want a palm tree next weekend and I’m gonna get the supplies this week. I have most of it sand shells the clear white glass and the pebbles they sell at the dollar tree, and UV and light !you have inspired me I’m on the hunt for wood

Once you figure out how much glass you need for the free, would it work to tape round the outline, then tip the glass into a bowl with mod podge and coat the glass, then replace the mixture back onto the fence paling, reshaping it to the triangle?

Aw, thank you! I live at the beach, so I find driftwood on my walks. I don’t find it all the time, but it’s plentiful when we get storms. Give this a try! You can use other things other than glass or driftwood too. In fact, I am going to make some trees with just sand and shells!

How do you crush your glass? And WHOA, you handle the glass bare handed? My skin may be tough but I know I'd have cuts afterward!

I use a hammer and an old pair of thick jeans. I have a short video on it. It’s really easy! Believe it or not, the glass is not edgy and sharp. I would not shave my legs with it, lol, but I had no issues with it.

Hi Save yourself the time and expense of hodge podge and mix the glass with resin in a plastic container. Keep the resin minimal since it will free flow as it becomes the consistency of water.

For those who don't have access to pretty colors of glass you can just dye it with alcohol inks. Theres easy tutorials online for it. I'd be partial to a clear or slightly green tree. Then go back once dry to make some pretty colorful Christmas ornaments. Although the simplicity of just glass a weather worn wood is beautiful & more rustic farmhouse chic.
