Alright so first off, holy shit I never realized Delilah had the same "escape reality via dreams about a lost child and stare at a poster" thing goin on as Mike Schmidt. hot damn. well ok I guess we know one narrative Scott Cawthon likes using lol. Second, when you were talking about this being in the Silver Eyes canon. How do I put this. Me and Cori have... considered this for a while... it might be in an upcoming video... maybe our next fnaf one if our schedule stays on track...... no spoilers........... ;) - Connie

Without reading every single story myself (yet), I don't know how possible it would be...I like the idea of elanor being the mystery adult charlie from the ending of the fourth closet...but that might be impossible. BUT, if there was good evidence for it, I think that would be a huge deal for the community.

@@HorrorHomestead OK sorry I didn't put this in my OG comment, I JUST thought to look into it, but I remembered what you said about all the girls dying so far, so I wanted to compare the female protags' vs male protags' mortality rate. putting that down below if you don't wanna know til you read it, but in case u or anyone else is interested: spoilers below . . . . . . . . . . . . . it looks like there's only 1-3 shorts where you can say a girl protagonist lives. "Dance With Me" unambiguously has the main woman survive. "The Real Jake" has both a male and female protag, and the male dies while the female lives. "Coming Home" is ABOUT a dead girl, but the other female protag lives. NOW, there are TWO shorts in the 12th book where female protags live if you count that as canon, so shoutout to my girls Mandy and Sylvia. Survived Freddy's by technically only being semi-canon. But in comparing male/female protags, not including "Real Jake" which has both, we're at 26 with male and 9 with female. Which is... a bigger gap than I remembered. I guess the first book having two female protags threw off my expectations. Also looking, the male-female death ratio is 7-19 (7 living, 19 dead) to 3-5, not including "coming home" which is nuanced. So if you count Samantha as the "Coming Home" protag since Susie's dead beforehand, we can say they have a 4/5 survival rate, which is technically higher than the guys but only bc they don't have a lot to work with. 5-5 if you count Margie as a protag, though I do think Jake would probably count over her in his title story lol. Though we SHOULD also note that the later books have more deaths, while the earlier ones didn't; of course there's death throughout, but like. books 8-11 have bad endings for EVERY protag. They really got dark in the last batch. Now after realizing how uneven the male/female protags were, I went to check on "Tales" to see how that balanced. Not including "Monster," cause nobody likes that, counting "Bobbiedots" as only one story, and not including B-7 because Billy dying in the first short and being retconned into living in the second literally just evens everything out: Tales is even WORSE in this regard. Tales only has five shorts with female protagonists, three of which were only in the first book, and they ALL die at the end. Now, of course, the epilogues have a final girl who makes it, but since we didn't count the epilogues for Frights we're not counting them here. We have a 0-5 survival rate on women. On men, there are three shorts where the male protag lives and thirteen where they die. "The Mimic" is also kinda a wash since Edwin lives but like six other men, one of which has an extended POV and so would count as a protag, dies. So again, not counting B-7s or the Mimic, the male survival is 3-13. Which is better than 0-5 but still, I forgot just how INSANELY dark Tales got in comparison to Frights until looking at this as a chart. Part of me wants to say "more female protags" but considering the protags all kinda die horribly. You know maybe we're good with Lucia for now she's doin fine - Connie

That passage from Mark 1 : 35 seems pretty similar to how Delilah ends up dying. She repeatedly rises a great while before day ( at 1:35am); she goes out and gets stuck in an extremely solitary place; and she dies (departs), while praying Ella won't find her and/or finding salvation from Ella/her life, something she metaphorically prayed for. It sorta fits. Granted it wouldn't make sense for her friend to look at that and say "your funeral", but to the reader that does end up being what "her funeral" looks like. Was that intentional? Idk
@michipeachy69
@michipeachy69 16 күн бұрын
I also thought that, and my conclusion of it not being intentional was more from a puzzlemaker's perspective: how did we get to the book of Mark? There has to be a clue leading us there for that to be the answer

Interestingly, my thematic analysis of the story was completely different. I read it as being about abandonment and the cycle of neglect. Delilah was abandoned by her foster parents and her husband, and then abandons Ella- who represents her daughter in her head- and is connected with the version of Baby in the trilogy, who was abandoned Frankenstein style by Henry. Because all this neglect and grooming has put her in such a bad situation, she abandons Ella. Maybe it's just because the adult protagonist caused it to feel a lot like the Magnus Archives, another horror anthology series. And they don't really do morality tales the way Frights does. It's more "person is in a vulnerable position because of society and will now suffer a terrible fate at the hands of a supernatural representation of said thing". As for what Ella is, I analyze this story in my second Fazbear Frights video, and I think that Henry did the same thing he did in the trilogy to try to bring Charlie back and failed. In the trilogy, it seems like there aren't any owners of Fazbear Entertainment other than Henry and William, since a location never opens without them, but that can't be the case in the gamesverse. Because he needed to keep making excuses while building a new body for Charlie, he had to rework his Ella designs to be a saleable product. It has more features than the Ella in the trilogy because he kept adding more electronics to try to make a "real" Charlie. Henry having a bunch of brain damage and trying and failing to kill himself explains where he was until fnaf6. My theory is that Eleanor is the gamesverse/Stichline version of Baby from the trilogy. They're described basically the same, and if Henry never succeeded in bringing Charlie "back", William never becomes suspicious and steals her. She has this big cathartic moment about making her own identity, choosing the name Eleanor, and deciding to become a monster in front of the Ella doll that features in the story. That's how she's connected to it when it predates the man in room 1280. It goes around and does haunted stuff, which is how it has a reputation and Taggart is looking for it. What happened to Deliah was in her head, a golden Freddy style psychic projection, helped along by her own guilt and problems. The Stitchwraith eventually gathers her because Jake can't tell the difference between Andrew and Eleanor's aura since they're all mixed together. I think people underestimate the relevance of the silver eyes trilogy to the gamesverse. Obviously it has to be a different continuity, but so many concepts and even the names William Afton, Henry Emily, and Charlie (Charlotte) come from the trilogy, confirmed later in the games.

I love how you raised the Magnus Archives point, because I was going to comment how much this story reminds me of one of Jonny Sims' other works, 13 Storeys. Specifically Alvita's story, who suffered from Insomnia and carried the message of how badly medical companies can mess with individuals who are just trying to get by. I definitely agree with the "abandonment" message, overall.

Off-Topic, but I noted an interesting observation after re-listening to Mr. Hippo's speeches, specifically the one about him and Orville being by the Falls in the Summer (we could infer it's summer because Orville drapes a blanket over Mr.Hippo thinking he's gotten too much sun) and Hippo expresses to his friend that he feels like he's constantly fighting an uphill battle only to be trapped in the jaws of a beast. The setting then gave me a lightbulb moment, what animal constantly jumps up waterfalls? Salmon, and what animal waits to catch salmon by waterfalls? BEARS. This whole speech is a metaphor for Golden Freddy (The Bear) forever catching William Afton (The Salmon) in this journey that won't amount to anything (UCN/The Falls)

@@kittyfolk yeah the only game of telephone here is when people use the jkv and then have to translate early modern English to contemporary English. We're pretty solid on early biblical manuscripts, it's just communicating their meaning to a modern person without annotations as long as the text (my preferred way to read it).

Another thing about Ella that I find interesting is that she is included on one of the arcade cabinets in Security Breach. In SB it’s clearly meant to be Ella from the novel trilogy since she’s alongside Theodore (Charlie’s rabbit) and another cabinet features her unicorn, Stanley. Considering these were toys made for Charlie by Henry, I feel it points to the novels being in-canon books similar to your frights fiction theory? Or it suggests that Henry (or someone else) marketed these as toys in the games universe. Another cabinet features Fetch which might mean he is just a real fazbear property (like what you said in you’re Tiger rock video, he may exist in some form without frights being canon). But again I think it would be strange to give him his own game without the books since he would be an obscure character. The cabinet I find most compelling is ‘The Bunbarians’ which features Theodore and Ralpho from Bunny Call. Ralpho in the stories is not a fazbear entity at all, so I can’t really imagine a reason for him to be here other than Frights Fiction. If he is just a random fazbear character in the games continuity, it would have to be extremely far removed from the books. The last option would be that this is just Steel Wool shoehorning random fnaf properties into SB without consulting Scott on the canon, but I do hope they wouldn’t be that careless. Another awesome video btw Gibi and thank you if you read this whole rant!!
@AbsolXGuardian
@AbsolXGuardian 16 күн бұрын
@@thesteamowl9412 The trilogy doesn't makes sense as Fazbear fiction, because it doesn't have any propaganda value for the company. It literally just describes the MCI and the supposed real perpetrator. This probably weren't fully thought though Easter eggs, but for a watsonian explanation Henry could have been under a contract that any robotics he made belonged to Fazbear Entertainment, even if he made them in his free time. That's unfotnately normal thing for artists to sign, but as he'd also have partial ownership he wouldn't think much of it (when you're a corporation with additional investors, sometimes the original owners are also hired by the company so they can receive compensation reflecting that they're doing more work than just the people bringing in money). It would fit with Fazbear Entertainment's characterization as ghoulish scavengers for them to pick over the toys Henry made for his daughter/in his grief and repurpose them as axillary Fazbear characters. As for Bunny Call, I'm a partial Frights Fiction believer, so I think that specific story is in-universe. It doesn't make sense for any animatronic to bleed, and then there's the twist at the end that the Bunny Call was done by a guy in a costume who didn't show up. Doesn't fit into the rules of the universe. But that doesn't mean the Stichline is also Frights Fiction.
@thesteamowl9412
@thesteamowl9412 15 күн бұрын
@ Great point about the trilogy. Revealing William Aftons real name and real events as in universe propaganda doesn’t really make sense. The watsonian argument might suggest we consider the trilogy closer to reality than we previously thought. Not that it’s safe to assume anything just because Charlie’s toys may have been real (so ultimately too inconclusive to be useful). Just thinking aloud. Safer to assume Steel Wool nonsense I guess.

OK, this is almost certainly NOT the meaning of 1:35, but... 1:35 seems to be a standard ratio used in the construction of scale models of vehicles - e.g. airfix. I'm almost certain that this wouldn't literally be the scale for Ella compared to her "life-size" equivalent, but it _could_ be being used as a metaphor for her being, like, a scale model of motherhood? Ella being a stand-in for the child Delilah never had, but then also presenting this microcosm of how much it would suck to have a baby and get woken up in the middle of the night? I'm mainly fitting this together because it was the sense I got from the story as a whole, along with some vague insinuations about wasting time, biological clocks and so on. I'm open to the possibility that this story's message might be a bit... questionable. I think that's inevitable when you combine cautionary tales with horror stories, because the things that make horror scary often involve the world being cruel or unfair, rather than helpful or redemptive. So I'm open to the likelihood that Delilah doesn't really have a lesson to learn here, but if she *is* supposed to be learning a lesson, it might be one that I don't particularly like.

The doll was never mentioned to do something bad. It was spooky because it was trying to get into the house, but waking her up so that she can live her life is a good thing. Ella never attacked her, just hung around her. She saw her future daughter in Ella, so Ella tried to act as a child around Del. I think Ella is just misunderstood and Delilah was just too sleep deprived and scared to recognize that

I'm surprised angel numbers were referenced at all in the story. All I can see is that any number is going to say "your angel supports you!" in a myriad of ways. It's like a horoscope in the newspaper--designed to be positive so non-specifically it's incredibly shallow. The bible verse angle is probably the best to take meaning from it, and I like how an idol-worship excerpt ties in to a story involving a doll. "You fear this idol (doll) as if it is a god controlling your life, and it will only lead to your death." You basically said this but rewording stuff dramatically is fun. At least we can be sure it has nothing to do with roman numerals. The existence of a 3 in the full number At All kills any way it can look...not stupid.
