So far the theme of this physical book (loneliness) hasn’t really been explored that well. I think Stanley and Delilah are both punished not for being lonely, but for something else: sleep! All this stuff about Delilah sleeping past noon and Stanley sleeping on the job really makes me think that these books are actually about sleep - like a kind of insomnia-horror attempt.

@ thank you, thats what I was remembering! I can understand the confusion of these books if scott gave story beats but didn’t give the overall story. Some of the author’s interpretations have meaning for us that isn’t intended and others are perhaps lost on us because we are too lore based. These books are a lot easier to understand when you pull a theme from them instead of trying to match up 1:1 characters.

@@Bbmag23 ehhh I dunno about that. RFOM is a pretty direct sequel to SL and basically the Stitchline as a whole explains the ending of old FNaF lore pretty flat out. There's a thin line between body horror and fetish content. It just has to do with how into it you are. Someone could write something as body horror, but someone read it as fetish. Of course the same goes vice versa. I have read some things that disgust me, but had the opposite intention. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I dunno, I think if something is explicitly presented as a horror story, then saying "This is a fetish story" is kinda silly? Like, even if someone could hypothetically get off on it, it's obviously not the intent. In this case, the whole process is described as being unpleasant, painful, and depressing to the guy it's happening to. I think if someone was looking for vore/inflation fetish material, and they were recommended this... they'd be pretty disappointed.

The problem with calling any body horror vore or inflation is that like this book and texts with similar themes are actually proper body horror. Having things crawling inside you and something bursting out of you is like *the* body horror thing for a reason. In my personal opinion as someone who has written body horror, body horror is not feeling horror at normal body things or at things like disability, disfigurement etc. Those are real experiences that need nuance and perspective to be written as “horrifying” in a way that isn’t ableist. The best body horror balances mundane real pain and changes to the body with a fantastical or less real/believable element. I haven’t read this particular story but it seems like stock standard boring body horror and not like anything actually deserving of being called vore or inflation.

@FTZPLTC9 күн бұрын
"In The Flesh" is much the same though - like, yes, some people have a fetish for male pregnancy... but they probably don't have a fetish for male pregnancy being horrible and disgusting and eventually fatal. It's a horror story, presented as a horror story. Likewise, even if some people have vore and inflation fetishes, I don't think they'd enjoy being told how painful and unpleasant and depressing and eventually fatal it is. I dunno, it just seems like "fetish material!" has become the new "this guy was on drugs when he wrote this!", in terms of just being applied to anything even slightly weird.
@AbsolXGuardian9 күн бұрын
@@FTZPLTC I agree, people are far too quick to call things fetish material. Now erotic horror is an actual thing, which does hurt your argument. But they're extra niche. Like actual purpose made vore content will usually be tagged lethal/non-lethal because people often have such different tastes. In the flesh straight up lacks the viserality of a fetish story. When I talked about it in my video analyzing the story, I compared it to the difference between a photo of a woman in a bikini and a sexy pin-up. Room for one more is better at the sensory details, but it isn't even until the end that the story can officially reveal that he'd been eating them, so it doesn't have the sensory details that even fans of lethal vore like. Also usually it's the prey/person getting eaten that dies, and the predator is in control of the situation.
@FTZPLTC9 күн бұрын
@@AbsolXGuardian - Oh, I'm well aware of erotic horror - I'm something of an eroge enjoyer, so I've encountered way more perverse and bizarre fetish material than this. But even then, there'll be a pretty big difference in tone - lots of stuff about "agony and ecstasy" or whatever. I think maybe the problem here is that a lot of people condemning these stories won't have read them. They'll probably have read a plot synopsis or a few out of context lines, presented to them as proof that it's fetish material... and they won't see the rest of it, where the guy on the receiving end of the "fetish" is complaining about headaches and worrying about his crippling debts or whatever.

I've not made a video analyzing this story, so I'll put my thoughts here. As a partial Frights Fiction (some stories are in-universe fiction, but not all), I think this is loosely based on Michael very publicly vomiting up Ennard around the same time Circus Baby's Rental could no longer fulfill orders. This is less about all the little details not lining up with how the bunker is described in game (information Scott could have easily told Andrea to look up), although that's part of it. The big one is the biological impossibility of what happens. Micheal getting scooped involves having his body pre-prepared and dosed with Remnant. Presumably his organs were removed to make room. Most people interpret Mike being dead and running entirely on Remnant when he first leaves the bunker post scoop. Stomach acid would burn up Mininrenas, and if they broke out of the gastrointestinal track before reaching it, that would cause internal bleeding that would kill Stanley after night one. He also specifically doesn't have a fever or any signs of infection, despite being filled with non-sterile dolls. And surviving means a single Minirina is able to provide enough Remmant to keep him alive and still be conscious, but that doesn't really track. I think if the intention was to depict a second separate event from Mike getting scooped in the same universe, the Minirinas not being part of molten Freddy and having to make their own escape, the ending wouldn't be Stanley ambiguously dying. It would be him regaining consciousness after the Minirinas break free, or another character seeing Stanley while he's controlled by them

@@HorrorHomestead I know people find it confusing. Its not a bad story, but it’s very cryptic, which is frustrating as a theorist trying to solve the overarching plot. There’s just too many options for what it could be. Eleanor? Makes sense, as she can transform her appearance and pretend to get hurt/bleed out, but that doesn’t explain the corpse or Devon’s death scene. Cassidy or Andrew? They both have curly hair, and the vengeful spirit kinda does look like Kelsey, but neither of them should be in this random Freddy’s out in the woods, and I don’t see why they wouldn’t look like themselves as ghosts (Andrew is just himself). Brand new character? Maybe, but the twist with the curly haired corpse is kinda meaningless then, and it doesn’t explain how they’re able to be Kelsey or why they chose that form. Even under FrightsFiction, idk what the point of this story is other than to maybe scare people with springlocking descriptions. It’s so brutal though, idk if they’d print something like that. It’s not like FE would have insight into this character’s specific motivations either if they’re real. For example, if Kelsey is Cassidy, how would they know her view on justice? Glad you liked it though, I enjoy it too outside of the frustrations it can cause. 😅
