If there are anyone new at support low rank: the trick is just to wait a few seconds. They forget about the body and they tunnel vision on something new. Then Res.

I can confirm fights don't tend to end in bronze/silver because time to kill is so long. It just takes ages for actual damage to get done, and it's long enough for people to come back from spawn. So you end up - particularly around spawn points - with people just coming back over and over and over again, not grouping up, and prolonging the fight as long as possible. That's why anything with even a shred of survivability lasts for ages.

The most bronze thing I’ve ever seen was when we were fighting near the edge of this map on Oasis (the one with cars), and basically, I was playing Lucio and I boop’d the Orisa into the cars, but their Mercy decided it was a good idea to fly to the Orisa, that was ON THE HIGHWAY and both got ran over by a car.

3:52 I was so confused here because they shoot the blue Hanzo, and he takes damage, and then right afterwards they shoot the red Ana, and she takes damage too. I realize now that the Hanzo is the one that shot her, but the timing looked like it could have matched the Orisa bullets. In the Orisa’s defense, their Ana sure was positioned like a defending Ana.

Honestly their sigma has potential. Shield placement isn't bad, they're trying to be aware (emphasis on trying), and I've seen aim not that much better when I was in high plat. It's just that they need to completely change how they use rock and eat, and pay attention to the enemy a bit more

Bronze tanks summed up: Reinhardt - always pin through opposite team; use with Orisa when in Panic Mode. Orisa - the walls become enemies; use with Reinhardt when in Panic Mode. Sigma - doesn't exist. D.Va - press Q for instant kill. Winston - falling off the map doesn't count. Zarya - funny little number doesn't matter; spam bubbles. Roadhog - smurf. Wreckingball - actually just invincible; exist to win.

As someone sorta stuck in silver, after watching one of those unranked to gm vids for a bit, it instantly helped me understand positioning and my role. Just maximizing value, even if you're mechanics aren't the best will make you win. Now, I do play on console, but watching these vids makes me understand doing the basic stuff right is sometimes enough. Now at one point in time, I was insane at cod and especially sniping, but teenage me had more time and reflexes than me

I was thinking about this, what if you did a series of an Overwatch Ranks tournament. You’d make teams made of 6 players from each rank and put them in a tournament and put them up against each other. First round would be something like Bronze vs Silver, Gold vs Platinum, Diamond vs Master, and GM vs Top 500. I think it would be fun to watch to see who comes on top (tho you could probably guess that Bronze would win it all ofc)

As a very effective mercy main who is buried in low ranks, I can confirm that my nose has been fine tuned to smell death. I'm basically a bloodhound at this point. Here's the formula for low rank Mercy: 1. Hold right click for the first 10 seconds of the game, because you won't be able to use it at all after that. 2. Pray your team stays close enough together for your guardian angel, but spreads out enough for you to be able to get out of trouble. 3. Be able to Battle Mercy long enough to get yourself an out. Your team will not turn around to help you under any circumstances. 4. Your Rein is going to feed his brains out and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Him spamming for heals is not your concern. 5. Valkyrie is your friend when it comes to getting yourself out of a sticky situation. This ties into number 2. I almost exclusively use Valk to get away from trouble. Anything good that happens after that is a bonus. 6. Revives are reserved for the teammate that feeds the least. You have to be able to determine very early in the game who that person is going to be. Pro Tip: It's almost never Rein or Winston. They are ult batteries. When you are reviving, turn around and look down. I cringe when I watch Mercy players just sit there and stare at the enemy team. 7. In the rare circumstance you can take a break from healing for 2 seconds to damage boost, for the love of God don't damage boost your dva. Never understand why people do that. Find the soldier, cass, junkrat or rein. That is my 7 step program to always having at least 15k healing, around 10 revives and less than 5 deaths every game. In quick play I get grouped with mostly Diamond players, but in Comp I'm buried in Bronze. Gotta love the comp SR algorithm.

Not really, you're buried in bronze because that is your rank. When you play with diamonds, you act as a band aid to an already better team, that doesn't mean you're providing as effective utility as you could. If you could, then you would have climbed out of bronze. Also, it's likely you're being paired with diamonds because the player base is dying. Low MMR accounts place with masters in QP all the time these days.

For rein you can one hundo percent support his hungry hippo habits to farm your own ult as well. Damage boost the fire strikes so when he feeds he's already at like 40% ult himself. Heal him as he swings he dies you repeat once and boom he has shatter. Pocketing a soldier during a team fight is always a solid idea as well. If you have an aggro rein and a soldier that can shoot things you can burn right through their tanks allowing him to tac visor. Your flow chart is why you're in bronze. It's not really helpful. Staying alive is important though you had that one right.

Target priority and consistency is the biggest thing in low ranks imo. It's why torb, moria and other low aim heroes do so well. Lot of the time peoplke run around with 1hp and either no one can hit them, ir they give up and change targets. The irbs or turret fixes this.

I played Overwatch 1 for about 15 hours years ago and recently started playing 2 and then found your vids. Placed Bronze when I did play competitive (i think i literally just did placements and stopped). Definitely don't know characters/maps well but in other FPS's I'm usually Gold+ so I know the basics. To anyone out there, this is a genuine question. Why do people hide their career profiles? I’ll be in a game, and I’ll see someone playing really well, so I’ll be curious and want to check their career profile because maybe they’re a high rank in comp- then BOOM, career profile locked. Is it to hide the fact that you’re not as good as you seem? I see no reason to be ashamed of being low SR in comp. Edit: Thank you to those who’s answered this! I really appreciated it. The answer is that by default your profile is set to friends only. You have to manually go into your social settings if you want to set it to public, and I would guess a lot of people don't care enough to think about or do that.

Not sure about now since no one talks about this, but back then it was because people may want to hide what hero they mained, so they won't get pressured into playing the same hero over and over by other players just because he/she has the most hours on it. Personally I hide it precisely because of that, since 90% of the time I leave it public the other tank immediately plays zarya because I'm a rein main, and games after games of only rein while having to tank through half the cc's in this game is really unbearable for me. There's also those people(smurfs/hackers) who may be using it to hide their stats. Lastly(and the most probable one) apparently having it open to only friends is the default setting so they may have just not bothered about it.(someone correct me if i'm wrong im not too clear on this)
