Actually, if you stand on high ground you can drop healing station down to whomever is below. Say, you as a Soldier and Orisa are alone in overtime or something, and obviously you don't want to drop down from your good spot, but you know that Orisa could need the heal... What do you do? Go to the edge and place it and it will fall down on your Orisa. Surprisingly useful tech to throw a brewski down to your horse (yes, Grillmaster skin).

DUDE, I feel this. When I get a few close games in a row I gotta take a break. They can be taxing on your body and concentration, especially I imagine, if you're as out of shape as I am atm. I've even said as much in game chat and people on both teams have been like "FR". Nothing like having a hugely intense game and then losing btw, still draining if you win but man do they feel awful to lose.

Try to notice when you get overwhelmed. the 11 minute mark is a perfect example. The ash pushes on you next thing you know you cant hit a shot to save your life and mercey is chillin no worries instead of pulling the pistol out in 1V2 situation.

the enemy lucio kind of sucked, it was lucio mercy for a good chunk of the match which is not a great team matchup since both of them have unreliable healing, the lucio was not being a DPS, he was not bouncing back and forth as a sort of dive support, he was not being an annoying gnat, i don't think he was being a taxi, he was just sort of there

I quit Overwatch 1 when I realized how boring the meta is: Both teams run to the chokepoint 99% of the time to have a shootout, then the team that gets ults first makes a push, then rinse repeat at the next chokepoint. It's a snorefest. I got to gold. I expected something more like a TDM or arena shooter style with more 1v1s and emergent fights, but this didn't seem it.

The core issue here is simply not taking advantage of Soldier's benefits. You can be effective from medium range and crossfire. You have sprint to reposition constantly. You should never be in a spot where you get outpressured, but you constantly end up in your team's frontline where you get hit with things like grav, arrows, mines Ashe shots, etc. Whenever you get hit by something that is intended to be thrown at your team's frontline/objective contest, then you're in a bad position and not utilizing your kit. So don't stop to pursue immediate low value (at high risk of rng bystander fatality syndrome). Run around, take angles, open cross fires, run away when pressure nears you, re-engage when pressure is diverted.. rinse and repeat. In terms of micro issues, there's ofc the mechanics. Less than stellar, but I won't comment too much on controller aim as that's just gonna come with time. But Helix rockets are severely underutilized. So often you try to finish off a target by shooting them, whereas a single Helix into the ground could've helped finish the job 1-2 seconds earlier both to ensure you actually get the elim, and also so you can move on to new value faster. I'd reckon you could have gotten at least 40% more kills and effective value, simply by using Helix as a finisher whenever it's available. You can close fights quicker, giving enemy team less of a chance to escape or flip the tables on you. Again, the best way to combat rng fight swings is to ensure there is no opportunity for the enemy to swing it. If you overly rely on your (bad) aim to finish most of your kills, then you are giving way too many free opportunities for the enemy team to avoid being punished for the bad plays they make. And the main way to climb, is to punish the mistakes that enemies commit in your current rank. Right now, you rarely punish their mistakes, which is why you're in the same rank as them, and why it feels so intense most of the time. YOU make it intense, by not abusing the enemy's weaknesses even when they present them right in front of you. Or when they choose not to guard their flanks, but you don't abuse this. When they only shoot down main, but you choose to stand in main. YOU make your own games intense.
