It is... I had a Zarya in Plat that kept walking into a turret Bastion. And most DPS play middle of the main... And people can't not shoot a Zarya bubble in there. The amount of TANKS asking for a MERCY pocket from supports is amusing. And the amount of MERCY TANK DUOS with agressive tank while Mercy healbots only IS INSANE in that elo.

That's not how the rank system works. His displayed rank is Plat 5, but his actual MMR is far lower. The MMR is what matches you in lobbies, most likely this is a silver lobby and his displayed rank just hasn't caught up yet cus he's a new player who hasn't played much comp yet. Don't worry, this is not a Plat 5 match. Just wonky SR/MMR mismatch for new players.

@@Real_MisterSir It is a Plat 5 lobby. I've been through all the ranks and steadily climbed from Bronze 5 to Dia 5 one by one. This is what this is. The average rank of the lobby was, indeed, Plat. Many Plat players play like this. This is the average low Plat high Gold experience. It only gets better at Plat 3-2.

Either this isn't a soldier player, or this DPS doesn't deserve Plat 5 ISTG if you shoot at a deflecting Genji you should feel every single shot in your knee or something until you learn not to do that. Even worse you were often hanging out with your supports beside you and if you get one of your Helix's deflected that is a dead f*cking teammate that's your personal fault.

His aim is as bad as mine. I'd say mine could be even worse. The solution that I found is trying to get some value with flanking, getting a pick or making some pressure against their backline and then fleeing. Soldier has the movement and the sustain to do that.

That actually is a valid way to play him, yes, but if you only use that to rank up, you'll end up de-ranking back real fast once you hit a ceiling.

The solution? That's literally the way he's meant to be played. If you constantly flank and shoot enemies, your aim will eventually catch up and get better but you always want to play as a distraction for the enemy team, especially with soldier due to his mobility.

soldier needs to use his speed to constantly change his position. off angle and get a pick or do some poke damage in one spot, and then sprint off somewhere else. taking flanks and off angling from high ground forces the other team to look at you which makes space for your team. but if you stay in one place they’ll dive you and pick you off

To be clear to everyone: This is NOT plat 5. Yes his displayed rank currently is plat 5, but his mmr is probably in low silver rn, and this entire lobby is full of bronze and silver players. That's why it doesn't look like a plat game AT ALL, because it isn't. SR just hasn't caught up with his hidden MMR yet. I'd wager this lobby is somewhere in silver, maybe with some low gold / high bronze players in there. And lets be frank for a second, this player is mid/low bronze at best. Bronze positioning, bronze aim, bronze panic attacks every 5 seconds, bronze target priority, and bronze awareness. Looks like a new player who just got awarded a waaay too high display rank on all roles and now they'll have a rough time as they climb down to their actual skill rank.

By any chance, do you know if this can work the opposite direction where displayed rank can be lower than the hidden rank? For example, could your displayed rank be gold, while the hidden rank is plat or higher.

@@BerdDog1392 It happened to me when they made the change in OW2 where they put you in the rank that matched your actual hidden rank. I was ranked gold, then the rank changed to diamond. No idea how, but my displayed rank was gold while my hidden rank was diamond.

Several seasons ago, I suddenly ended up in gold on both and have been hard stuck when I know I have improved mechanically and in other aspects. So maybe my hidden rank was actually gold and I’m just worse than I thought I was lol. But I see videos of like this and I know I at least am above this level, so it’s confusing.

@@BerdDog1392 This is very much the case, and it can go both ways. When we shifted from OW1 to OW2 I didn't play comp for a few seasons and the SR decay hit very hard, so when I started playing again my rank was shown as low plat. In reality I was in mid Diamond lobbies and everyone in my "low plat" games were also diamond/masters players and never encountered an actual plat player. MMR had also decayed a bit so lobbies were actually below my previous skill tier so they weren't sweaty games by any means. Then when they did the new rank display (can't remember when) my SR went from Plat 4 to Diamond 2 without even playing more than a handful of games, as the devs changed the system back to be more in line with the old rank displays and closer alignment to the MMR. When I coach new players I always have to explain this system, it's quite complex and for new players it can often feel disheartening to not truly understand where on the ladder they are, when their SR says one thing, but their MMR says another. It's also why you can sometimes go 5w/3l and derank, if your SR was shown as gold for example but your MMR had placed you in high Bronze. That'd mean those 5 wins were bronze/low silver lobbies, and the game actually believes you're perhaps high silver, rather than gold, thus you may "de-rank" from a positive win rate. What actually happens is while your SR goes down, your MMR is going up, but your MMR was so much lower than your SR that visually you only see the de-rank and now feel bad about it and question the system. It's pretty messed up, but over time it works fairly well. Just takes 100s of grindy games to get your MMR and SR fairly well matched.

I haven’t seen anybody comment on it, but none of those Kiriko ults were “weird,” all of them were pretty well timed, aside from the ocasional over-ulting. The one exception is the one that got caught on payload, but I still do that in T500 because I forget which payloads block Kitsune and which ones don’t.

i play ashe and i've found out that in close battle for example you do way more damage if you make sure you hit your shots instead of firing at max fire rate and missing and also on long range you do way more damage if you shoot a bit slowly but hit headshots instead of spamming body shots

His use of Soldier’s mobility is just so weird. He hits it AFTER he’s sun struck instead of going into the building to avoid it. He doesn’t rush after the tracer who just turned the corner for a medkit, instead sitting in place. One suggestion is just, be more liberal with the mobility.

Positioning is the thing I would focus on the most, followed by having a game plan and basic things they need to adjust (for example, don't shoot a deflecting Genji, don't run into a Doomfist, don't ult if a fight is lost etc). 1. Increase your sensitivity. That may seem odd but it looks like you were trying to jerk your aim everywhere. Maybe not increase it much, but get it somewhere, where a slight tilt helps you keep up with tracking. Sometimes it felt too slow and you got lost trying to get it to snap back and over compensated for it. 2. Play Mei. You instinctively play like a Mei would. You go in, you hold your trigger trying to track and you want to tank while you're not a tank. Play Mei. You can play literally the same and have better results

Yeah when I was im plat 5 I got the widows going 50-2 hitting consistant shots on valking mercys, the genjis getting 4k+ nano blade kills a fight, oh and dont forget the perfect juggling winston. In OW1 I'd agree, but something is genuinely wrong in OW2. I used to be Diamond tank, Plat DPS and Silver/Gold Support. I'm now Gold DPS, Gold Tank and Diamond Support and my skill level on all of them hasn't changed. What's crazier is that my Gold Tank lobbies are way higher skill levels than my Diamond Support lobbies. To make matters worse, there's without a doubt forced losing/win streaks.

Also, I just made a brand new account and I'm already in Diamond on Tank again with a 90% win rate after being placed at Gold 2. Almost every match I play is an absolute steam roll too. I'm telling you bro, matchmaking is absolute jacked up right now.

His MR must be really low because my Dps is plat 5 and its harder then my master 1 games on support. If i had plat games like this i'd be master on dps by now.

it's just a new player who hasn't been grinding comp. Got a high SR placement for his displayed rank, probably through lucky streak on their initial quickplay matches, but MMR has already figured out he's way lower and is matching him with silver and bronze players already. If it was actually a bought account, then MMR would not put him in such low lobbies from the get-go.

How did they make it to plat 5 with this many bad habits? Plat 5 isnt necessarily low, it's below average but I can definitely see how they dropped to bronze on tank because something thats funny about low level players is they either spam abilities as soon as they have them or dont use them often enough. There's no in between and it's hilarious. This soldier used healing station like that one bastion who never used assault mode
