Sadly if their gamesense was any better they might fly under the radar of even some good players. The aimlock they're using isn't very obvious, what seals the deal is how they're sitting still in the middle of the street and aiming through walls.. This is how most CS cheaters used to get caught thru Overwatch, because they used wallhacks and couldnt stop themself from looking at enemies through the wall and preaiming.

Flats sorta missed what was going on here, the cheater did not have an aimbot, he had a triggerbot. It fires automatically when the crosshair goes over an enemy. That's why he was sweeping left and right, that's why he was aiming over their heads and then slowly descending on widow (to get headshots) and why he was not aiming upwards or firing before full charge on Hanzo

The sweeping motion is because of the silent aimbot. Unlike normal aimbot which instantly aims at heads and nothing else, silent one tries to make it look human-like with slower and smoother moves.

It's incredible that a few of the only missed shots are because the target stepped behind some cover and the shot hit the cover instead of their head. Their scoped accuracy has to be above 90% because they only had a few "missed shots" off widow that were because the cheats locked on through walls (not the "shoot the ground to lower my stats" strat). This precise of aim anywhere would be insane.

The cheat they were using was a trigger bot and probably walls. The way that this hack works is just clicking for you at the right time. That is why you see them aim left to right so much, because to get a kill they only need ot over the head for a split second. This kind of hack however will totally break on hanzo because he is projectile and release instead of press. The reason they cant hit the mercy flying is because the trigger bot can't account for latency, so if you are having problems with someone using one, try lucio or junkerqueen to outrun the trigger.

Pretty sure they changed their name to onyx. I played ranked against a Ashe named onyx that had the exact same weird aiming style and only shot headshots and didn't miss. He left clicked a total of 6 times in a 3 map Busan game that was pretty close. He would also snap to people's heads without having any bullets. Also I reported him for cheating about a week ago, haven't had a single message of actions being taken against accounts.

It was expected to happen. The goal in any game is never to prevent any cheaters from existing, that's unfortunately impossible. Its to stop them once they start. These cheaters are training the AI detection tool to tell the difference between human and mechanical aiming. At the same time they added phone verification for new accounts so that, eventually, it'll be at least more annoying for hackers to continue. It will get better, this stuff just takes time and it is much less prevalent at least than it was near the end of OW1s lifecycle. I've only encountered one so far myself

I had ran into an Ashe player who had crazy aim during a quick match that made me think he was cheating. Im still not sure if they were, but on the kill cams he would double tap me every time he either hit a corner or i would be playing the backline. Unfortunately I didn't save the replay to view it because I let it go after the match. After seeing this though, I legit wonder if I may have been correct? Now that I now light hackers are still in OW2 I'll start saving my replays when I'm in doubt. Thank you for the share and exposing these lames!

The reason they might be aiming like that is because he could be using a trigger bot which shoots for you when your crosshair passes over a selected hit box. Doesn’t stop them from playing like shit…

That kinda reminds me: Not that long ago I was screwing around in the training range with my bf where as Ana I slept the Tracer bot and he Cass ulted it and it was not locking on to its head at all. Didn't matter where he was standing and holding deadeye though. It was only on the slept Tracer bot too - pretty sure we tested it on a few other characters.

I too am terrible at Overwatch, but instead of cheating and ruining the integrity of the game for the other players, I just stick to playing other games that I'm not complete dogshit at. I have to assume no such games exist for these cheaters.

The game being free just means it's filled with cheaters. I've faced multiple aimbots. And it's literally as you say: they hit every headshot but their movement and positioning is terrible.

I’ve just started playing Overwatch 2. I’ve played tf2 for year and have gotten pretty good at being able to call cheats but this is hard. Maybe because I’m new to the game but from the other teams view it probably just looks like someone who’s good. There’s too much damage going at once to realize someone’s cheating. Scary stuff.

Flats explains the various things pretty well but basically, once you have more hours under your belt and understand the game better, looking at this is just absolutely hilarious and spottable within the first minute. From the enemy team's perspective: There are certainly some situations where you can ascribe it to someone with just cracked, consistent aim. But there are many situations where you know it's just implausible.

@@zendakk Just look at the flicking to the head as widow, way to precise and almost robotic movement of the cursor. I've watched top 500 players like ML7 miss way more scoped shots then that. He's a guy that has thousands of hours of in the game and multiple rank 1's.
