This makes me want to try out that mod.. For what it's worth - when a dwarf gives in to melancholy, it means they're so depressed they've given up on life, and will no longer eat or drink anything, so they slowly starve/dehydrate to death. Usually this happens if they get a lot of bad thoughts (dead relatives and friends, or horrific injuries) or one really really bad one (failing to make an artifact during a Strange Mood). I'm pretty sure this was a strange mood gone wrong - make sure you have every workshop and material they might need when that happens, follow them around a little bit to see if you can figure out what they need.

The lack of cage traps in the enterace hallway annoyed me until i saw the complete ring of cage traps, which made me satisfied. Very good video.

Also - dwarves dying in trees are because you have the plant gathering zone set to pick fruit out of trees. Dwarves use a step ladder to climb up the tree and pick fruit or nuts, then another dwarf assigned to hauling takes the ladder from under their feet, stranding the gatherer.

Haha yeah it had me really panicked honestly, gameplay aside this was a big project and would’ve sucked to cut it short. I’ve heard it happens sometimes in vanilla and that is the best way to get past that issue. Very lucky the rest of the playthrough ran solid and it was a great time. Thanks for the support and comment haha, yeah I have having to do a mid interlude but yeah we really almost lost it 🐊

It probably can't be made to work this way, but it would be cool if you could use fire type pokemon to help out in the forges and smelters and stuff like that- less efficient than the magma versions, but less fuel intensive than the standard.

Fiverr dude honestly dropped the ball compared to what I wanted. Getting this out of him was a literal week long nightmare between the language barrier and trying to get gems around the dwarf but I'm pretty sure he did use AI. I was under the impression they were an artist but I had to get 5 or so revisions. You live and you learn I guess, the other Fiverr guy for my crocodile mascot did fantastic but it's a diceroll. I don't think I'll be rehiring Sabbir from Fiverr anytime soon, he took my complex idea and made a pretty basic design for it and I'm not overly impressed so if anyone else is a talented artist and wants to get some work on their plate (WHO DOESN'T USE AI) HMU 🙌

New PC is alive and setup, we were able to find a great build which has stepped the quality up big time! Now I’m doing KZbin as a full time job (trying to at least) I have links in description for donations and stuff but just watching the videos helps a bunch and is more than enough!
