As a chess player who only knows what he’s doing 5% of the time, I absolutely can confirm, unpredictable players can be harder to beat them pros at times, just because those pros usually do the same predictable moves early on, each move has some name, and unpredictable players just throw out the book entirely

My personal head-canon is that Annihilape is so powerful that the cracking you hear with them is the fabric of spacetime creaking and groaning in response. And, yeah, that Mabostiff storyline is the best execution of any story in the entire franchise.
