So I watched the jungle episode (more like movies from this guy), then Snake River, and now I am watching the solo island movie. First off, I have to say how much I appreciate the sheer effort that goes into your filmmaking. It's easy to forget that for every mile we see you traverse on screen, you've likely covered much more ground setting up and retrieving those cameras. The logistics of managing all that gear in such challenging environments must be immense. So thank you, for your dedication to capturing these incredible journeys. Second, thank you! Thank you for allowing me to see the Snake River through your storytelling. I will never see the Snake River in person and never knew about it until I got to experience it with you. So, for someone that is almost 3,000 miles from where you were, I want to sincerely thank you for what you did and allowing me to experience it with you. It was a privilege to witness it all with you. Third, I was really sad that when you got to Taco Bar, there was not an actual bar that served Tacos! I would consider going on a trip like that if I knew I could get to a place called Taco Bar so that I could replenish all the calories spent on that trip. Oh, and I got a great laugh at the 1:15:44 timestamp. Thank you for sharing your passion and your adventures with the world. Your films are an inspiration.

This video should win an award. The way it shows every aspect of his journey from food, tent, to sleep, to hikes, to kanooing, to wildlife with a big zoom to real talk to filming talent just the details and effort and how much value this video brings is amazing. This video alone would be a 5-10 series season of a netflix show or youtube format in germany where people copy everything from the US or CA. The differents of quality not just the video quality just in total is so big to other creators its crazy.

Just the effort that might have been walking with the canoe, taking it down to set up the camera to record 2 seconds, picking it up again, and so on, deserves the like. Keep the effort sir!

It's impressive how much you push yourself. This is a big trip to take on alone! I'm inspired!

The attention to detail in filming and editing is incredible. Loved the little zoom-in on the fish jumping. Thanks for taking us along for the journey.

Hi Xander, I hope you doing great. I don't know whats wrong with me, but while I watch your video I felt so sad and connected to you. It's like I can understand the emotion you struggling with. I really wish you doing good

Family and I were playing at the camping trip several years back. My grandmother was in the hospital but she was doing fairly well. She had insisted on seeing the grandkids before we left though. We visited for several hours and had a great time with her. She just insisted that we go camping for her. The first night out everything went well. We were cooking supper the next night when the phone rang and it was my dad. My grandmother had passed away while we were camping doing something that she loves so much. It just so happened that we were cooking dinner and my great-grandfather her dad's Dutch oven at the time. I think she knew. What an honor.

Another great one from Xan the Man. Beautiful nature, hiking, and canoeing. I love your revelations about how you got to this point in your life; it makes you a beautiful person. Totally addicted now to your videos after seeing about six.

Your channel started out as a way for me to watch camping/backpacking when I wasn't able to do my own trips, but over the last year or so it's really become more of a mental health checkpoint. Your seemingly random (to us, but I'm sure there's more to it for you) bouts of serious self-reflection throughout your longer videos recently have served as a notion to myself to do introspection. It's funny, sometimes it's way easier to survive in the wilderness than it is to survive in society. If you come to Colorado I'm more than happy to give you coordinates to quiet places.

Hello fellow Coloradan :) the purpose of my trips *is* the introspection. Something about being in nature just brings it on naturally. Especially out on the water. I'd love to do a big paddling trip like he does someday.

Epic... hands down. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Honor your grandfather's memory... and your grandfather isn't the only one proud of you.

You don't know the power of your videos, man. You truly don't realize how many people you've helped by sharing this and your other outdoor adventures. I am also one of those being helped. We are a part of your journey, and through it, we too are being healed by immersing ourselves in your wilderness experiences. Thank you, Xander
