I hate to be that guy, but actually, the communist rule in Czechoslovakia lasted from February 1948 to November 1989, so 41 years and some change. You probably meant 1991 as the year the Soviet Union dissolved, but most if not all of the Eastern Bloc was free by then.

oh and by the way, there exists a toolpack mod that you can use to free yourself from being a puppet. I'm pretty sure it works with the cold war mod as well. I think the mod is just called "toolpack mod". Congrats, now you can cheat more effectively
