Omg, when you mentioned Satellite view after I made a comment, lol I thought great minds think alike. Can’t wait to see what some of these look like polished.

I'm dying to get them polished...soon. Which will also lead into your next comment, because after the polish those bands will pop.

@@jimdutcher6678 I know, right. That's why I responded the way I did to it. As odd as that was, it was me. I didn't preplan that reaction. It just came out of me that way 🤪

Hello Fred. This is grandma. I loved this video!!! Those thunder eggs were amazing!! Quite a few jaw droppers! I would also like to add that I thought it was very clever of you to be able to do the shots of you opening and commenting on them and the close-ups at the same time. I am still learning about rocks and how to make good videos like you. ( Huge learning curve for me. HUGE! lol). I truly loved the video!! Keep it up!!! And thank you for your time and smiles!!!

@@Grandmasrockin Hi there GMA 😊. You're too kind as always. Yes...I'm looking forward to the polish. That will bring out the details of those already stunning pieces. I'm still learning as well and this video taught me a lot...good and bad. It's all a learning curve that I appreciate you want to be part of.

Also I would like to know what editing program you use? I have been checking them all out but have no idea what I’m doing. Of course. If you don’t want to share this info I understand.

Can you please explain banding? After watching you explain you see banding in #25 I thought it was what we cans see the white running across but no I’m thinking it is something inside the rock we cannot see. So I would like to learn. Thank you @justonemorerock.

You're right. See if you can pause the video at 10:30, which is a frame before transition to next rock. It's faint but look into the dark area of the left half, as we watch and not my left side. There are 2 concentric circles as it transitions from that dark area into the light and about up to the horizontal banding you mentioned. They were obvious with my eyes. See if you can spot em.

So I'm still learning but if I can be vague and explain it the easiest way I can then I'd say this. Creating rock from liquid mineral takes forever years long. During those years, water precipitates into voids of some form of host rock. That precipitation carries different minerals, in different quantities and qualities, at different speeds during the long process. Those minerals enter in different manners and harden at different speeds. Again being very simple about it, the rings get created sort of like tree rings, although you can't age it the same way. During wet periods minerals may move into voids quicker than in drier periods, where the minerals may harden slower leaving bands. Anyone out there can kindly correct me if I'm off base. Thanks 👍
