Me too because you don't need to be that particular. I do a lot of architectural drawings, especially gothic buildings. Sketching the bricks is like second nature to me but you don't have to put that level of detail for the effect, i.e. it's ok if some lines are missing. You don't need to actually draw every line of a brick. Most old buildings are so weathered you don't see that much detail and it looks more realistic to roughly and quickly do it. Then just go over some areas harder afterwards and it gives the illusion its all there, hard to explain without showing it but if you saw my drawings you would know what I mean. It's much quicker than painstakingly making sure every brick is perfectly drawn.

I just had the wildest but most impossible to pull off thought after reading this comment. Like, you connect to their VR environment and actually control a real life camera going through the set piece and when you run into other cameras the game shows other people with shaders and stuff. I don't think it'll ever get to a point where that's possible, outside of multi-billion large parks like Disney's
@stuffofnitemares6161 Жыл бұрын
It would actually be easier to scan the prop in 3D and port it into a VR world. Then you wouldn’t have to work out the technical aspects of a moving camera inside a diorama.

@@stuffofnitemares6161 maybe with a little robot with a ball for movement like that one from star wars would be a good start

@@gamedev_byhobby8872 I think that would drive her insane. The level of detail one would want to impart to maintain realism would take a lifetime. However, 3d scanning it would make it easier to touch up and allow it to be added into games, and be printed too.
@gamedev_byhobby8872 Жыл бұрын
@@Grumpywhiskers yeah, if it was digital you could also add procedural details to get the load off your shoulders. I know vines are a good example. Thank goodness for Hansi jumping in with the 3D printing. As ever, I'm blown away by your miniature work. It's just wonderful to see this kind of crafting being showcased for all to see. @@frikkinpenguinsome people (mostly nobles) can burn certain metals inside their bodies to give them specific strengths. Burning tin enhances sight, petwer strength. Iron and steel let you pull and push metals towards/away from you respectively. One of the main characters can burn all metals, yet isn't of nobility. That's the starting premise, but things heavily escalate from that. It's hard to explain without spoiling, but it's definitely worth a read. Sanderson is an amazingly dedicated and thorough writer. The Mistborn series is part of an MCU-like epic called the Cosmere where each book series takes place on a different planet with completely different magic systems while being vaguely related to eachother. Sanderson has found the perfect balance where the books have references for the reader who as read more books, but to no detriment of the first time reader. Reading a book for the first time, you'll likely not realize the significance of certain events, stuff like a seemingly random name referencing a character from a different book, but on a re-read, you'll be going "Wait a minute!" every couple chapters.

(Continuing random stories on the things they build part 1) The cramping of her stomach woke her in the middle of night, waves of nausea and cold crashing down on the lady’s body, while a sense of doom settled in her chest. Trying to reach her bathing chambers, she rose from her bed, only to crash to the floor shortly after. As if her own body had shut her out, she lay on the floor, shaking and trembling. She felt so immensely tired, so cold, so lost. The darkness in the corners of the room seemed to come alive, moving and growing until there was nothing but black surrounding her, stealing her sight, getting closer by the second. She fought, when the black tendrils left an ice cold touch on her skin, she poured every last part of herself into commanding her body to move. But to no avail. It didn’t take long for the darkness to swallow her whole, as she lay on the floor, unable to move and completely robbed of all senses, she felt it reach inside her soul, taking a golden sliver from it. The shadows retreated from the corners, from the walls and ceiling, gathering around her and seeping into her skin. Freezing cold lightning shot through her veins, taking over her entire body, creeping into her heart and settling into every fibre of her being. Then, everything changed. The lady’s eyes adjusted to the darkness, giving her a clear vision she had never known before. Her ears picked up the songs of nocturnal birds somewhere far away, the barking of several dogs in the dark alleys of the city. She smelled the jasmine oil she had bathed in on her skin, the lavender growing in pots on her windowsill. Her body was brimming with energy all of a sudden, filling her with the sense of newfound strength unlike anything she had known before. And then, from the corners of her room, the shadows began whispering to her. _Child of Night, I am calling you. Child of Darkness, I am claiming you. Child of the Void, I am Chaos and we are one._ Whatever had happened that night, it had affected every single citizen, killing most of them in the process. Every day for a week now, carriages flooded the streets, filled with corpses destined for the mass grave the people had dug outside the city. Two thirds of the population had been found dead in their homes, black veins covering their entire bodies and eyes turned completely black. The surviving citizens all told the same tale, growing shadows, complete helplessness and freezing cold. The only thing that separated the lady’s experience from everyone else‘s was the shadow‘s whispers, the voice that had called out to her. As if she had been only one to hear it. Edit: grammar

Three days after the night of the crawling mist, the lady found herself in front of the temple tribunal - that is, those of the council that had survived. She was one of many called to testify as to their experience that horrible night, and to be questioned as to why they had survived the ordeal while countless others perished. “What happened to you is not dissimilar to what happened to others we have heard here today,” noted the Chief Magistrate. “Yet you appear stronger, more hale of body than most others. Can you explain this ?” The lady hadn’t told anyone of the voice that spoke to her, afraid she might be accused of illicit sorcery or communion with unclean spirits. In the days since the mist appeared, no one else had mentioned hearing voices, so the lady kept what she had heard from the inquisition. “I don’t know why I am still alive, let alone why I seem to be unharmed. I suffered the same pains and agonies of the other townspeople, and yet … here I stand.” The council was not convinced. “Surely something about you differs from the others that still live ? Can you think of nothing that might account for this ?” asked the Third Prefect. The lady kept her silence, shaking her head in denial of the accusation, yet she knew one thing had been different about her on the day leading up to the plague night : a small blue mark had appeared on her right wrist, the size of a grape, in the shape of two snakes intertwined about a tree branch. The mark did not persist, and faded to barely visible as the day turned into evening. By the next morning, the blemish had all but completely vanished, leaving behind only a pale, ghostly impression of itself on her skin.

Random idea for something to make: make a defuser that looks like a volcano or a factory because defusers release all the vaporized air that looks like smoke

What I love about Martina and Hansi is that, though they are so incredibly talented, they are humble about it. If I had one ounce of their talent, I don’t think I could be so modest hahaha

Me getting confused I Martina wasn't wearing her engagement ring in the start of the video, but then remembered this video over 20 days, so Hanzi probably hadn't proposed yey. I then spent almost half the video keeping tabs to see if she was wearing it AND SHE WAS! Congratulations to you both again btw (I said it on the FB post too) 😁😅❤️

Absolute sweet build. As soon as you showed the final result, I already had the Dark Souls OST stuck in my head. Would be a sweet D&D prop

Sooo cool! I‘m actually rereading the series right now 😂 So it is the perfect timing 😁 I really can imagine Vin jumping from tower to tower 🤩

That final cinematic... WOW! I could totally see Kelsier and an Inquisitor pushing their way up the tower with Mist swirling around! With the scale and epicness of each of these builds just growing, soon enough Martina and Hansi will have the entire Shattered Plains stretching across the floor! "Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination." 😆

I saw the Thumbnail and instantly thought of Luthadel. It is so good. I personally imagined Kredik Shaw to look more like a sort of black sea urchin. 😅 Brandon really needs to hire you for something at some point 👌 Amazing work, as always, guys 😊 inspiring x

Love it ! If get a couple of natural stones , saves wasting aluminium foil , for texturing XPS ? Railway ballast ( granite) rock of choice, although something to look out for on happy wanderings , don't go on or near Railway !

That final shot, god damn. The Final Empire's capital looking amazing. The red sun in the background, the dark, gloomy buildings... The mist, and the ash falling from the sky. Gorgeous!

stunning built and the mist in the cinematic makes it all real! Great job! I'd really like to see a cemetery next to the church or the external arches of the church that i see in the original sketch, but if you didn't make it there is probably a reason behind. Btw it's an amazing diorama and i'm really happy to see time and passion put in projects like this

It's very cool! But i would love to see an interactive build from the idea of, if you had magic how would you build yourself a home and why? What materials would you like to use? What rooms do you need and where? How would you make it comfortable?
