The only problem with its veracity is that in such a setting one must take out and/or deform a few railing uprights. Having lived in rundown urban settings and dangerous neighborhoods, I can tell you at some point someone puts someone else’s head through such railings, it is inevitable.

Every time you added something I thought "Ah yes now it's looking really amazing" and then you kept adding little things, layers of paint, etc, and by the end cinematic it legit took me a second to realise it wasn't a real city or a shot of the game but your diomara :O You both absolutely nailed it! Incredible! The cork idea was brilliant, the vegetation really completed the look, the graffiti looks so realistic, and those final shots didn't feel like a miniature. I've actually been playing this game, and can easily say that this diorama captures the feel so well, both of the game as a whole, and the reference image as well; while still having a unique flair of your own style and personality. Some of the other comments call out your immense skill at walking and talking through your steps, and your wonderful and encouraging demeanor and bright personality (not to mention awesome hair) - I agree completely. You really give inspiration for anyone who wants to try their hand at it, that they could have a go at this, and with practice and effort, create something to be proud of - even if it may take a long time to get on your level! I would also add my compliments on the incredible cinematography and editing of your videos. Was a little upset you didn't use any Cocoa Krispies cereal boxes, but once you started building it I got over it. hahaha Great seeing your man doing the domes. NICE!!! And the buildings look stupendous. Oooh and the filament lights were great. Arilla's miniatures were a nice added touch. Nice to see you adding other talents to your projects. The cork sheet worked really well as the asphalt street. Great idea. I still have some cork left from the trumpet wah/wah mute I fixed many years ago. The details were to die for. Especially the small beer bottle and the many plants and greenery. You guys outdid yourselves on this one. I was once working on set in Hollywood making props for "People Under the Stairs" a Wes Craven movie, when one of the window frames (life size) got a broken window pane. Seriously I didn't do it. I was on a break. lol Any way I was about to fix it when the director saw it an said "Leave it like that it will add more realism to the set." That's when I told everyone I did it. lol Your windows reminded me of that. I love watching you guys. You both are the most interesting on You tube. Incredible. So many times, I think as many times as you've uploaded a video, I have said out loud while watching, in silent concentration, "..incredible...". But this one, it hit me on so many levels, the tiny neon signs, the composite board street, the miniatures painted by that awesome woman I immediately paused the video to go follow, mushing the broken up popsicle sticks in ink and paint to make them look exactly like rotten wood, the graffiti, everything. Literally everything put into this project made me so happy and excited to see how it turns out. I hope this channel continues for many many more years. Incredible work. I feel like I say that every time but I’m blown away every time, too! The details are incredible and it actually has that feeling of dread looking around the abandoned street, the broken windows where anything could be hiding, alleyways and doors where things lurk. And then the little signs of life - The bar and the leftover bottles, the lights still working. Credit to Hansi for the lights as they look perfect 👍 Definitely a quality build and lots of great tips for others to try on their own dioramas. For a future project I think you need to jazz up that clock you use to track build times! A really awesome NerdForge clock that you can proudly display off to the side as you work! It could either be fantasy based in wood and magical lights, in cyber punk neons, or like todays post apocalyptic style. I know you both would come up with something epic.

Years ago I spent some time doing various Wall Murals for hair salons, restaurants and residential rooms, like kids rooms and the like. Several walls I did in the hair salon were Egyptian themed and because of the sheer size of these wall pieces I needed a short cut to achieve stone like texture with the paint. I used regular Big Can Wall Paint. EGG SHELL Finish specifically. All indoor wall paint is, is Acrylic Paint! Just a thicker pigment concentration than standard Art acrylic paint. A large can of Brown paint plus a small can of Black and a another small can of White and a myriad of small tubs of art acrylics and I had everything I needed for all those Egyptian sculptures to be textured. The wall paints mix Extremely well with even Dollar Store Art acrylic paints. For large scale projects like this Post Apocalyptic City Scape, I'd be using Egg Shell acrylic wall paint for all your major stone and cement textured surfacing. Easy short cut and a little paint goes a long way making a big can supply last a long time. Keep some stor sticks handy to give the paint a stir if it's been sitting for a while, or even pop down to the paint shop and have them shake mix it again to freshen it up before use. The larger the project, the better the deal by swapping out a few materials here and there can still go a long way.

A sheet of sandpaper could also be used for a road and painted to the desired effect and you can also choose how course it is to fit in with the chosen scene E.G. sand/gravel path more course, smooth asphalt road more fine

Especially the already black sheets for asphalt. I will say that an even paint job might be hard and a wash would be really difficult to do since paper towels will still to the more coarse sand papers, but a 320 would work fine.

@@antonisskarmeas6363 I love how you photographed them outdoors. The open environment and awesome backdrops really increased the appearance and scale of your dioramas. What material did you make those castles with, and HOW did you make such a perfect circle for that courtyard?

@@Jadebones Thank you very much for your kind words ... the whole building is made from the inside with model paper and from the outside lined with clay ... I made the circle from the inside first with cardboard and then I glued a thin layer of clay on it. I take photos of all my dioramas in the open air and in nature because there is nothing better like sunlight.

I agree. It's no surprise they have such a huge - and dedicated - following. They're the best example imo of 'how youtube _should_ be done'. Even their ad/sponsor moments are creative and interesting. No clickbait titles, no ridiculously long intro banging on about shitty merch and telling people to 'like and subscribe' before they've even _watched_ anything.
