I got the gtx3071r with the extreme di high pressure fuel pump mishimoto in intercooler, ijein intake, tial bov with the 3” boost hot/cold pipes and went to hp tuners from Cobb, and with the cost of the tune was a little over $10k but went with the bigger turbo that’s for 600-700 hp so when I build the motor and put big injectors in, I don’t have to buy another turbo, but I do have to say I wish I would’ve bought a 50 Mustang and put $10,000 in it and I would’ve been making 800 to 1000hp the focus st is ridiculously expensive to modify and I’m looking at a dog box or a sequential bc all I really drive it is me and my wife will go to tail of the dragon or will take it out once a month so not really looking for drivability but my injectors have me limited at 450 wheel but really that’s all I probably need to go with the stock block anyways I like the wheels on yours. It looks sick.

You don't need to spend an arm and a leg for a big brake kit; just about $600 USD for Focus RS brakes. They're more than enough for tracking, autocrossing, and spirited driving. If you want more info, search up "Focus ST Focus RS brake swap." You just need the RS pads, calipers, hoses, and OEM rotors. Sure, they're not the fancy, cool-looking cross-drilled and slotted kind, but they have a metric f***ton of stopping power, even for a tuned big turbo ST.
@str8xrippinАй бұрын
@greecoboost yea I've seen that conversion and I think it looks awesome. I didn't know it was cheaper I thought it's the same. I actually don't care about the drilled and slotted rotors I just want the massive RS calipers in blue that'll look tuff as hell. I wouldn't touch brakes but after pushing my car I noticed the brakes don't hold up under heavy duty applications so brakes are a must lol

while pushing it yea, but for long drives theres a low boost map thats not maxing out the fuel pump

Okay so I'm also in Ontario - but I never really thought it was worth going big turbo because we only have 93 and no ethanol (so therefore no fuel mods). Do you feel it's really worth it? How responsive is the power at low RPM? I'm still stock turbo but I thought about going garrett powermax which is basically OEM+ turbo if you're unfamiliar, but I was told by Alan at Edge Auto I could make about 300 on 93 and a powermax, which is definitely nice and more than I need already, but curious about more information on the big turbo set up you have going. I'm also only at about 120k km in my ST (2017) - have you had any issues since you went big turbo? Cheers dude, thanks for the video.
@PettiooАй бұрын
i looked into the powermax but didnt think it was worth it for the money and since i was already fbo ready for 400hp, but this setup hits full boost around 3500rpm and stays there until redline where id assume the powermax falls off at the top. i think this is probably the best balance of not completely losing bottom end but also still having a lot of top end power and ive had no reliability issues only doing regular oil changes for the past 50k km, i put it on at 170k km
@RthereNEusernamesАй бұрын
@@Pettioo Awesome dude, thanks for the reply and your insights. Powermax probably falls off at the top end, but even on stock turbo with a tune, these things are pretty quick. I'll definitely consider a bigger turbo though. Means I've got to do a brake upgrade too and I'd likely need to go DP and exhaust since I'm only intercooler, CAI and tune right now. Who are you tuned with btw?
@PettiooАй бұрын
@@RthereNEusernames i got the turbo from stratified and it comes bundled with a street tune from them where you just datalog and send the maps back and forth until you get the final map. i havent done big brakes, as long as you have good pads and rotors you should be good
@RthereNEusernamesАй бұрын
@@Pettioo right on. I think Edge Auto provides a similar service when you buy a turbo from them, but in any case I was just curious, thanks dude!
