A note on the plastic: in general, even if you go into a store and buy from a hanger, those clothes arrived at the store in plastic. Factories package each individual item like this for stocktaking and protection purposes. Clothes are packaged to keep them clean and protected from the factory, through transit and in storage. With clothes, each size and each colour is a different SKU, and need to be packaged so that they can be picked (taken from the shelf for an order) individually. In the back of any retail Store, they will have racks or boxes of clothes all individually wrapped like this. I would look up how to recycle soft plastic sand see if there is any information on plastic drops in your area, or if it can be picked up by council. Side note: that blue dress is giving major Beauxbaton vibes…

I was about to make the exact same point. Every online clothing order I've made has been like this, it's currently the best way for them to keep the clothes in good condition and folded neatly whilst in storage. It's easier for them to keep them in size order too. Otherwise the process would take longer, there would be more mistakes, and the clothes would probably smell like an old factory. I have noticed over the last couple of years that there are a LOT more single use plastic bags that can be recycled though, maybe that could be an option in the future? Or the outer bag could be paper/card.

I worked at a clothing store in high school. The way most clothing was shipped was a giant box, a bunch a bags in the box, and bunch of smaller bags in the bags, the shirt a bunch of tissue paper and those little gel packets. I would however like to mention that champion would send us a huge box filled to the brim with hoodies and sweats all in the same colour so there was no plastic or tissue paper just clothing.

The plastic waste is definitely a common problem with fast fashion brands and online fast fashion in general - Cider, Shein etc. have a massively negative impact on the environment based on their business model and manufacturing practices. It’s worth the research if the waste is actually something you authentically care about.

I would use the bags as storage for your seasonal jumpers and other clothing. You can press the air out of them before you seal them and save space. (The reason for there being so many: I’d bet that’s how they’re stored in the warehouse for easy pulling and packaging)

They may even be picked robotically in a warehouse. Don't think a robot or a picker have time to refold those before putting it in the crate for your order. Lol. I want my items to be clean, so yes to the plastic !

Great idea. I use the packaging bags as liners for my small pedal and waste paper bins (instead of buying them on a roll). Some supermarkets also have soft plastic recycling bins too 👍

The 4 things I came away from this video with were: 1. Cherry looks cute in basically everything 2. The poofy pink dress gave major Glinda from Wizard of Oz vibes 3. The sparkly dress was very modern day Cinderella 4. The brown maxi dress was my definite favorite

The jumpsuit is really nice teamed with the T-shirt. The evening gown is really nice too and suited you very much. Loved the knitwear items and adored the jeans. I’m always so nervous about trying new online shopping places and think I have only heard about Cider from one friend until now. I like the Emery Rose range on Shein, they have some cracking stuff on there and some stunning dungarees that I think would suit your personality and look perfectly.
