Taking into account inflation, it’s no more expensive per piece than it was 30 years ago. It’s just some of the sets are much bigger now. We never had 3000 piece sets when I was a kid.

The Xmen set looks even more over priced than the other modulars. And it’s so small considering it’s supposed to be a mansion. I just got one of the retiring speed champions sets and the Christmas BAM figures that were released today

Botanical garden is one of the best looking sets in a long time, unfortunately it runs at AUD$500 which i just cannot justify

Depends on the set, but on the whole, yes. Obviously not as much as if you keep it sealed though. Either way, it's not really something I'm massively bothered about, I don't buy it with a view to selling it one day. I only keep track of the value roughly to make sure it's all insured!

Nothing new is calling me today. I did get the Medieval Market 20% off from Smythstoys a week ago. I also have Holiday Main Street and Santa's Visit in the Loft which I should make a start on soon. As you say you have to be really invested in Xmen to go for the Mansion. It looks like they maybe should have gone for a bit bigger and a bit higher in price. It certainly doesn't help bringing it out and placing it right next to a set that is the same price yet bigger and with more pieces.

I’ve given up buying LEGO. Their prices are simply too rich for my pocket. Over the last 3 years or so, I’ve been buying less and less. But, I’ve now taken the decision to stop completely. The brand has become a luxury item and is exactly what they’ve been aiming for since introducing their 18+ Adult line. Oh well, more money to buy food and heat my house!

The X-MEN set looks like a let down due to the size for the price you paid for it. My brother and sister in law are massive Lego collectors, and it's a pain to buy them new sets as gifts because we don't know what sets they have or don't. It's now to the point that we just ask. We have managed to get my brother the NASCAR car for his birthday today and another car for xmas that he hopefully doesn't buy.

Am I the only one that was massively disappointed with the x mansion? apart from the fact it’s meant to be a mansion and it’s only one floor, for the price compared to what you get it’s tiny and looks ridiculous next to the sanctorum and the other marvel Lego buildings. Think I’ll wait for to hit the sales as I think £300ish is an absolute rip off for what you get. I’d rather pay more for a better build. Massively disappointed
