I will say that some people think Junkerqueen is reckless but in her cinematic she was very patient and calculated before going all out, like she waited 13 years before getting her revenge. Her gameplay makes sense and this video proves it. She's smarter than she looks!

agreed. patient, smart, and reckless where it counts. that's how she acts, and that's how she should be played. can't be afraid to run in and hit half the team with your axe, but you also gotta be aware of your surroundings and make sure you don't get caught with a bunch of cooldowns. it's an interesting play style.

I feel so validated as a Ball player seeing SVB have to deal with teammates who expect you to play against an enemy comp a certain way that your character just ISN'T meant to or designed to, and never even attempt to coordinate around the playstyle they should be taking and blame you for not "Being the frontline". I'm not surprised at all that Ball and Junker Queen are the two lowest picked Tanks... They have to deal with being the two hardest mechanically AND require your team to play in ways that no one diamond and below has ever been taught to play nor are they interested in learning.

I don’t think most players think about coordination or cooldown management to begin with. They are just all so caught up in the emotion and then pointing at the score board. People dumb and you gotta just carry at the end of the day to climb

I decided to try playing her recently and realized just how fun she was and just how good she can be if you know what you’re doing with her. My favorite Tank. Only unfortunate thing about her is the fact that she’s not meta and is considered mid but I’ve learned how to make her work.

My only complain with her would be how long the Shout CD is, sometimes you feel like a sitting duck when you're out of cooldowns.... I'd love if she had a thing where just tapping shout would make a smaller, weaker version of it (with the same speed bonus) but reduced CD, and holding shout would be the current ability. It just feels kinda bad having a bunch of up close power but not actually being able to get up close...

as someone who's been pumping hours into JQ and getting better with her, it's not just knowing when to use her shout but also how to use it. it's a good option to rush or chase down an enemy and poking the enemy team fishing for a pick, but it's also a defensive option when youre aware your teammate is low on health. the 50hp is still enough to save a life but the movement increase enables them to back off faster so they can recuperate (hopefully your support is paying attention to heal lol) while you peel for them (also hope that your support can support you without leaving you hanging). with this, you have to gauge when you want to solo engage to start the aggression, or play with your team so you can shout and push together. if youre a smart player that's also paying attention to the mistakes you make, you should discern when youve made a mistake, like shouting and engaging without your team properly backing you up when you need them to, or overextending/mispositioning yourself when youre in a situation where you should stick with your team. only on rare cases will i shout out of spawn to get to point faster, but i keep it reserved until im actually in the fight because most of the time, by the time you re-engage, your shout is still on cooldown, which is what enables her in the first place.

I've been playing JQ with my usual tank pool and this video is pretty spot on with her playstyle and learning curve. You have to earn your kills and the satisfaction of doing a lot and knowing it is just raw skill is crazy and hella fun.

The downside of junkerqueen really is that she's ultimately designed as a brawly tank. But there are tanks that are infinitely better than that. Reinhardt is a better brawl with just Lucio. Orisa is a "middle" ranged brawl tank but can excel close range as well. Plat players simply don't understand this, I tried my hardest with my duo who has climbed to gm before as JQ and it never worked. They simply don't know how to play with or against a JQ. On top of that, her values gets denied hard just by having Ana Kiriko. The second I stopped picking her I started climbing all the way into Masters. JQ skill to reward value is simply too different. She is unfortunately hella fun tank, and I keep picking her regardless if my team genuinely doesnt want to play around her. (p.s. : for gods sake, please stop being brig against Mei Rein Lucio, they'll just fucking shut you down if you walk up to them, just boop them away, just cuz im "brawly" doesn't mean I am gonna be brawly.)

agreed. i miss beta 2 when she was meta. i know she was too strong, and the nerfs were justified (if not a little much). but back then she almost felt more fair? a mediocre jq was basically a throw pick, but a really good jq could just carry an entire game. and honestly, i think that was healthier for the hero. having a high skill ceiling character that is actually good is fun!

​​@@astupidlylongnamethatstoolong I'm a JQ main (masters) I do agree reins better, orisa is better on paper but as long as your a knowledgeable JQ player you can out do the best orisas (it can be difficult tho) Kiriko does counter but you should try to force out Suzu and then use your ult. Sombra actually pairs really well with jq and makes playing against your counters way easier. Ana is annoying as hell but if you have a kiriko it evens it out. I'd say jq is a dark horse pick, to pull her off at the highest level you do have to do everything right unfortunately. Just my take & experience with her.

I LOVED this character as soon as she came out, and I played her a bunch. I played like I was supposed to and did very well at it. It was only when my friends started telling me she wasn’t good and other players telling me she wasn’t good that I kind of… dropped her. I always want to play her, but I don’t like getting yelled at. It’s so much better because it’s someone marking their experience learning a hero instead of going like… “Hey guys, follow these 3 tips to counter any hero” And they’re like either basic ass tips or tips for people who already do well.

After you learn a support you should learn Sigma! I feel that Sigma has so much hidden value that so many players can't see with your grasp being an ult counter, your rock being able to secure kills and stop ultimates, your shield being able to block LOS in very creative ways, and your ult being in a similar case to Junkerqueen's where you have to wait out so many important support cooldowns to use it! Sigma is so rewarding when you learn him and there's so much outplay potential with the hero that makes me love the character!

I loooove playing Sigma against snipers. He's not a mobile tank but he can toy with people at long ranges. His balls also do surprising amounts of damage! You can often get many kills with Sig!

technically his entire kit is an ult counter. his rock can stun people out of ults, his grasp can eat things like grav, pulse and mei ult, and his shield can block things like bomb, tire, and high noon

Lucio is nuts at high level. It’s just in lower ranks most people don’t have a clue what his value comes from and just “go lucio” without understanding the value. Simple things are speeding your tank to brawl or booping their team closer to yours. But then there’s the niche stuff that only comes to you In a dream you has while Froggers stream plays while you sleep.

Orisa has been my main since OW1 and now it's Queen. I think the hardest part of her knife is how quickly between primary shots you wanna use it but it has a totally different speed and arc. So you've gotta have your brain juggle between "shotgun" and "knoife" using the same cross hairs. It's very difficult and unnatural to learn.

I say something and nobody listens they just do their own thing and ignore the idea that there is another door way that isn't full of spam from the enemy.

personally believe, that she plays a lot like brig. She felt natural to me from the start. Let the enemy commit and punish them. Use shout as either "Oh, you think you can just walk off?" or "gonna need those extra HP real Quick."/possibly to save a squishy team mate who is dangerously low. And i feel like this video confirms my playstyle on her. Just dont play enough tank recently. After all, i can just go to bed when i wanna sleep. No need to let myself get slept by ana 20 times in a minute. God that feels so annoying, now that it's the last stun outside of tanks

Hey came to say, thanks to watching your video, idecided to start trying to get good with junker. Taken about 7-8 hours but man ive got 5 potg’s in the last 1.5-2hours and im having a blast. One match i was alive for almost the entire match on point repeatedly battling their whole team while my team kept coming back. Im only plat though so it wouldnt work in higher ranks, but man is she fun. I struggle when i have a team that plays from distance, but when i can get a team to play aggressive, its a blast. The whole part about the plat game got my blood boiling. Junker Queen popped off, who cares if the guy didn't pick Rein, sometimes a little change is needed to keep the enemies on their toes. Stop relying in Rein so much, I've seen Wrecking Ball stomp teams on Comp and its insane, Plat love Brawl comp which sucks cuz switching it up from time to time, especially now with Rammatra's Nemesis mode making Rein hiding behind his shield a non-option now.

SEEMING like she’s all gung ho, going crazy but under the hood she’s battle and smart, using everything at her disposal at the right time is very fitting for the character of junker queen. We see in her cinematic when she first beats the king that she a little new to what she’s doing in battle, but still using everything she can to win. Now I’m game, at a later point in time, she has the confidence to act all crazy but she’s still being smart and savvy. Putting the player in her shoes can make you realize how difficult it would be, but for someone like Queen it’s easy it just looks like she’s crazy. Or maybe I’m reading into it too much

I am tank main but I cant play JQ....love her design but the gameplay is so boring I cant help myself....if you dont hit every right click then you basically feeding, its so hard to get value, much harder than Hog which has the same mechanics, but its much easier to land hooks as the chain moves in straight line not an arc

this hero doesn't play at all like a tank. you bring very little utility to the table compared to rein, winston, etc when it comes to protecting your teammates and peeling, setting them up for kills, making areas safe, etc. this probably is why people want you to play something else

I love playing as junkerqueen and even dominate under the right circumstances, but she probably gets hard countered more than any other hero rn so I think she could be improved with 3 changes: - Make her healing faster instead of increasing it. - Make the healing still active even if it gets cleansed - Let her be able to cancel her ult or maybe give her a passive Edit: I know I'm bad and I need to git gud but these are just suggestions, I love this hero a lot

The first match was so relatable; flanking is always a win, and each Tank/DPS has its own way of playing, and that is what makes the game interesting with the different comps and plays you can make; flanking with JQ is so much fun, and even with Bastion! But no, lets rush mid and bonk everything for 2 minutes knowing is not working.

Imo junker queen is what all tanks should be designed after. High skill, high reward. She doesn't have 10 billion hp, has long cds, and needs good mechanics. Most tanks are easier, have better utility, and are tankier, which is just bad design imo. Junkerqueen is a character that I cam actually respect dying too because she's easy to play around and can only really own if the enemy JQ is really good

Just want to say I love this 'underrated hero' content and it's inspiring me to play the game more. I've been playing Sombra and applying Fitzy's advice. I've also played JQ in the past and keen to play her more seriously with Guru's tips! This is why I fell in love with Overwatch 1, that feeling when a hero 'clicks' is the most satisfying thing about the game, you level up not only your understanding of a hero but you get to see the game in a whole new light.

That support saying ignore you taking side angle triggers me as another support main. Yeah, sometimes tank's choice frustrates us and baffles us but you fucking support them irregardless to the best of your ability. You are supposed to be ultimate enabler, work with your tank. Tank is spear point of your attack. (Unless it's Ball, he's a bit different)

Lucio would be amazing for this since he has multiple techs involving his wall riding. The awareness you learn to have to constantly peel for teammates with boop, speed amp, visualizing wall positioning. He offers a lot of utility and it would be fun to see you learn Lucio

I recently started player junker queen and I enjoy playing her. Having a good pocket heals makes you feel immortal. But I also learned that you HAVE to use her axe whenever you can or you’ll lose the fight.
