@@Doost311You say that, but forcing Sombra to translocate out makes her value dwindle drastically. Essentially you’re making that fight into a 5v4. People seem to forget how easily you can negate her effects. She has the lowest damage compared to all DPS. As long as you stick together and are aware then that’s when she loses her value, also she has so many counter picks that negate her altogether. One shot heroes like hanzo, junkrat and torb easily make her useless altogether. A good Sombra which is rare will try to adapt, but even so she’s still not good. She requires great timing and coordination from her team to do follow ups.

She isn't a 150 health champ like tracer, she actually has a normal health pool, so just like any other dive champ she has to be playing it correctly, you shouldn't be translocating a mile away, you should be going back to the medkit a room over. These aren't complex or high skill concepts... She also has an amazing ulti, so there is that as well

I think Sombra's "irritation" factor is actually one of her biggest advantages. If you annoy the enemy team sufficiently, they might be tempted to overplay you to the point where your existence alone is forcing 1-2 heroes off the team fight for the duration of the match. The problem, as you mentioned, is while you'd expect your team to roll a 4 v 3 every time, should they fail to do so there's very little you can do about it

fitzy is crazy good at what he does. his aim fluctuates between good and bad, but his game knowledge and sense is by far the best in the game. there are days where he has aim so bad it makes mine look good, but his knowledge and game sense carries him HARD. he shotcalls the exact moment when something is going to happen, and its nuts how he can notice every small detail the moment its about to happen in a game. he's at his scariest when he is actually warmed up and his tracking matches dafran at his prime. and he's one of the most chill people too. he's not some sweaty tryhard. and even if his team is bad he is always so positive. even when im not playing sombra i watch him just because its a chill place to be. he taught me the most important life lesson...you see a zenyatta...its time to spawn camp.

i play her with randoms and carry tf outta them and they always complain or want me to switch regardless of if i play good or not. I had games with like 40 and 50 kills and they still tell me to switch because they dont know how important it is to keep bullshit turrets and hack healers/tanks so they can make it easier to kill them, its because she requires a brain to play and not a “meta” pick like broken ass soujorn or genji or reaper

Ok this probably wasn't intended by Blizzard but this high end playstyle of Sombra fits her character extremely well. Like when she played all sides in the original cinematic of hers. I always had a softspot for Sombra (even though I suffered under her as a squishy little support main) but now it even increased.

Doomfist would be one of the most interesting characters you could learn in full due to how much tech he has, and how complicated his playstyle is as a whole compared to the other tanks barring Hammy. I think it would be a great learning opportunity for both you and your viewers, especially us, given there isn't a whole lot of tankfist educational content out there outside of Get Quaked On.

I used to main Sombra in OW1. Like her OG form. I would constantly tell my team I had EMP and was going to use it in an important team fight. But every time I did use it, my team would sort of stop trying hard. They would stop shooting. Run away. Not use their own ultimates with it….even though it would be the team fight we would need to win.

I can't tell you how many times I try to get my team to run in with a boost as lucio and they fucking run away, leaving me to get absolutely destroyed buy the enemy team. It's the main reason I tend to play counter games with it.

@@Gr3nadgr3gory That is one of the reasons I like to play Moira. Sure, the other supports have better utility, but if your team is unable to use that utility, it is pointless. (Window, Kitsune, Immortality, Speed Boost, Damage Boost, Discord. Nade, etc) Moira’s damage utility is better in those cases.

No wonder why I thought Sombra was so “hard” for me. Usually I can learn new heroes and become good and earn POTG, but Sombra is one of those that you can only get damage out of her if your team knows what they’re doing. Turns out you just have to be lucky and have a good team that know how Sombra works. I’ve spent several hours learning her, and it’s really just hit or miss. You won’t guess how many times healers just completely ignore you and won’t heal you. Relying on health packs is time consuming. When you use her EMP, people don’t even jump in and help finish them up. They just walk away or disappear from view. Then they start blaming you for not doing “enough” damage and they tell you to switch. It’s almost like you’re by yourself when playing Sombra. She’s only good, when the team is good.

Your statement around 2:46 is very good and honestly reminded me of the spy from TF2. Sombra has a lot more to offer than the spy but in TF2 you're better off choosing the Sniper in almost all scenarios.

Yeah, that's because snipers in TF2 are never anywhere near their team and have one shot potential on all characters. OW players should feel lucky she doesn't have an insta kill button like spy.

This is why I think it’s dumb when people say Sombra is an easy pick. She is not the most mechanically-demanding hero, but she is one of the most strategic. To be good on Sombra, you HAVE to have a game plan and track everyone’s resources. That being said, it’s possible to solo climb with her, but it’s not easy. To get the absolute most out of her, you need to have a team that can communicate and follow up on your plays.

The thing about spawn camping is that it's only good if there's nothing better to do (like your team lost a scrappy fight and are resetting) because the player walking back from spawn is already not in the fight. Essentially it's a 4v4 on point and hoping they win without you. It's a dice roll.

I thought I saw this in my recommendations while I was at work yesterday but then I couldn't find it when I got home and I thought I was going crazy or I thought I mistook a a Twitch Notification as a KZbin notification or something, I was so confused. I'm so glad you did this. I'm also so happy you Enjoyed it ! I wish everyone could appreciate how bigbrain Fitzy is on Sombra. I'd put his strategic mind up there with Seagull, mL7, Yeattle, Kephrii and Bogur. It's not just mechanical skill, they have a working knowledge of the game and know how to apply that practically. I was a Sombra main back in OW1 (I haven't played much since Role Lock and I don't like how Sombra plays in OW2) and being part of the Super Secret Sombra Squad did indeed make me feel like I was playing Chess or Starcraft as the Master Commander of Armies while everyone else was playing foot soldiers, I felt so smart... but yeah unless you're playing with friends or you're playing in an Elo or in a Region where Everyone knows you (As that One and Only Sombra Main with 700 Hours on the Australian East Coast between 10pm and 2am) it's pretty hard to get good team synergy and value.

The biggest problem with niche DPS like Sombra in Overwatch is that there's only two DPS, and if they're also playing a janky character, or asleep at the wheel, or AFK, or trolling... your pushes just grind to a halt. So there's some characters who work okay in coordinated team play, but you're just asking for miserable matches if you regularly pick them in solo queue.

Yeah it sucks that people don’t understand how tactic and strategic you have to be playing as her. Depending on the enemy comp or how competent their team is you have to shift priorities and you need to do it quickly. Your spatial perception needs to be at an all time high in order to get value off of her and lastly you need to be patient and well coordinated with your team when you decide to strike. She’s really one of the highest skill cap heroes in my experience along with ball. I hate when people are so negative and toxic towards me but I guess it means I’m doing my job right lol, but sometimes it gets to me like “do they not understand? “

litterally had just picked sombra and my team started flaming me. We lost one teamfight and they blabbed in open chat that I was "the worst player ever" and "throwing." I ended up backcapping on attack and carrying the defense with twice the other dps kills. my team actually cheered when I backcapped and yelled "c9" at the opponents but at the end of the game they had not changed their minds about sombra and were claiming they won despite me "doing nothing" all game.

Sombra main here; I find that just because she doesn't do a lot of damage doesn't mean oyu have to be annoying. Being a good distraction also is helpful in a match and say the enemy team is fighting your team all the way across the map away from the point- you can just go and run to the point to capture it. My wording was off but i hope you get the picture. Sombra is really fun when you just find your own playstyle, I hope you play her some more!

Liked the format of this. Sombra is extremely fun to play, and Fitzy is transcendent when it comes to decision making for her. If you're looking for the next hero I'd suggest Echo. She's a hero anyone not looking to main hitscan should have in their pocket as a Pharah answer. Also really fun to play.

I que with 3 other people and I can tell you, She gets SO much value with a decent team. You can call out hacks and reliably either get help for the kill, or get told if you need to back out of the flank and help on main/off point somewhere. Calling out emp for set up with others ults is way easier knowing they will listen and piggyback off your emp.

Sombra, sym and moira don’t belong in the game They make your games worse just by existing within them. Playing against them offers no fun. And in the case of moira and sym, their kits are complete crutch cheese that makes me wonder why I even bother playing a high skill floor hero in the first place. They have no place in the game

Ver 1 of ow2 sombra made her ALMOST on par with other dps, and required less planning, which was nice, In a fast pace game like ow it made playing sombra less stressful. But after her major nerfs she's pretty much back to old sombra from ow1, where you gotta think on the spot, plan things out and go big brain in a fast pace game, which is STRESSFUL ASF. People always complain thay sombra is the easiest hero ever even when that isn't factually true, she's one the high skill hero in the dps category. Sombra can be tremendously fun to play. The problem is that the majority of her input is in disruption - creating opportunities for your team to push and mitigating failure. As someone who plays solo most of the time (and Quick Play at that), people generally just don't do a lot of that. Most of the "good on a team" characters in Overwatch have suffered from the beginning. They've been reworked and redesigned over and over again, slowly stripping their team dependence. Sombra, it seems, is next in line. Personally, I find that Overwatch is a bit too fast and a bit too chaotic to really offer much in the way of complex "strats". Sure, high-level players playing together can do amazing things. Characters who only work in those situations, though, are out of reach for most of us.

Please cover Mei. I main her and I feel that just like Sombra, she's all about tactics with her entire kit. But unlike Sombra, you're constantly looking to make plays while rubbing shoulders with your team instead of jumping out and leaving the team during a prolonged team fight.

Biggest problem with Mei is that fucking wall just being a nuisance to your own team half the time. It's one of the only abilities I've seen in the game that's almost NEVER on cooldown.

But even GM Mei one tricks will wall their own Rein's ult by accident on occasion. The thing is, no one is perfect. But Mei walls really show a person's imperfections immediately compared to a Sojurn with 20% rail gun accuracy.

Learn Echo, I main Echo and I also main Mercy and Dva, even tho learning Mercy was incredibly fun I really REALLY enjoyed learing Echo, just something about her kit is so fun I even have fun just brainlessly playing her in the practice range, I love her!!

i hate sombra because people use her to spawn camp, which everyone can agree is bs, and because of invis+teleport she's so hard to punish for anything, now hack isn't so bad but they need to put a timer on invis and take out teleport all together.

This entire breakdown makes sense when you think about the fact Sombra's original design? Was as a Support. Impressive utility, independent, survive-heavy kit, less consistent damage output, and Team-oriented? Apply all of that to a support class hero and the playstyle here feels obvious, even appropriate.

What's crazy is, I've discovered most of those tips on my own but couldn't use them as well as you or fitsy have, also it's best to have a friend as your other DPS to carry the damage you can't while you pick off the enemy Squishies

As a ball main, with more than half of my time on ball, Sombra has long been my most hated character in OW. Recently, I've been trying to understand her more, because well and truly, every loss to a Sombra ends up being a skill issue. She still makes me mad from time to time, but she's a character with counter play like any other, and because we're both some of the most hated characters in the game, I suppose there's a bit of comradery to be had there.

I do agree she's frustrating and scary to verse (at least when ur versing a good sombra) but ppl misunderstand the level of game awareness and mechanical skill involved with sombra. i've been maining her since launch and it never fails to excite me the amount of things you can do as the character. one of the more interesting characters on the roster imo

Sombra has been my dps main since her launch. She is incredibly team oriented, communication is absolutely key, and she requires you to stay on top of just about every thing going on. OW2 has helped alot with the ping system, but i do understand her damage output isn’t as huge.

if your team flames you as sombra never forget: the biggest compliments for your sombra play dont come from your team praising you,they come from the enemy hating you. the biggest compliment i ever got was from one enemy saying "how is your sombra everywhere" =D that made my day

I am a ball main and fucking hate sombra. Hack, which stuns your abilities and unballs you is the single least skill ability in the game. Auto aim through walls with infinite range, no cooldown, and canceling it doesnt work most of the time. Worst of all, she in invisable so you cant dodge her and she can hack medkits to drastically reduce your survivability. By choosing sombra, you are already the equivalent of a 45kg plate on the back of a ball main. You are an anchor by design. They added ball, the single most skill based character with by far the lowest skill floor and highest skill ceiling, and then they added sombra....an invisible ball counter. Absolutely no risk with infinite reward for putting in no effort

Pick up Sombra on the side was the best decision I ever made. It's not really about the damage you deal. It's more about what you can deny the enemy team. Like Killing ults, spotting threats. Dismantling Tanks and some supports

Is it just me or is sombras bullets slightly homing in on ana? 5:22 Kinda looks like, when ana jumps, the bullets go upwards even though the reticle is under her. I know she's hitscan so it might just be the bullet effects tripping and not the bullets themselves
