just looked at the MOT history (for free, like everyone should) and why was it MOT'd and passed in May 2009 with 116k, and then tested again a month later in June 2009 with 71,100? I'd guess trying to dupe a new owner, but weren't MOT history results available online at that time? Odd.

*Ran a Car Vertical report on a prospective purchase for my Niece's first car. Came back with all green ticks so she handed over £10K purchase price. A few days later we find out the car was 'stolen and recovered' and bought from a salvage yard. Contacted Car Vertical and all they did was email her a load of excuses. Seems a Car Vertical report isn't worth a wank!*

*So seems my reply detailing how my Car Vertical report failed to pick up on my niece's recent purchase being 'stolen and recovered' was removed. How come? I thought you might ask me for evidence but removing the post tells me you're well aware how useless a Car Vertical report actually is? Basically they're not worth their fee as if they miss anything they just say they're not foolproof! Don't waste your money people!*

You know i find it ironic and amusing that car vertical is a company dedicated to making a product to stop people from buying dodgy cars but then spend a good deal of their profits sponsoring people to buy dodgy cars. I really appreciate them for enabling all this stupidity.

Just an idea that could help with filming; you could use those cheap security camera/live stream IP cameras as a a way to record time lapses or additional b-roll for you guys to do voiceovers later on. A lot of those cameras have a pretty wide FOV as well so you don't have to be too precise with framing of things to capture what you guys are working on. This could help take the strain off worrying about recording footage espeically when a project gets out of hand at times. Hope this helps in any way. Keep up the fantastic comment. It's been such a joy to see all of you guys work together and your personalities shine since you guys started the channel.

This is what we want. We want to see what it’s actually like doing the things you are. We want to see when it goes wrong, there’s such a better feeling watching and seeing you overcome issues rather than getting a bunch of mods and then off to the dyno as if the mekanik-fairy did all the work for you. It’s authentic and entertaining. So much so, I also now hate S4s (I did anyway, but you get the point). Top video chaps. Never change!

Depends lmao. Had a mk1 TT with the BAM 225, exactly the same car underneath as that S3, and it was a total pig to work on, but i also had a mk4 Polo GTi, also a 1.8T but the less powerful BJX, and that wasn't too bad to work on... Once all the unnecessary crap was removed from the engine and engine bay that is. It also helped not being overly compacted and complicated in a way that only Audi likes to do, and obviously no Quattro getting in the way of anything. Lol.

I am a member of a forum devoted to another car from the Audi stable from the same era. We have a set of Ten Commandments for ownership - one of them is “thou shalt not buy cheap / unbranded / obviously Chinese parts instead of OE or quality aftermarket”. It serves us well. On losing weight - have you checked to see if there are any forged or magnesium wheels you could change to? Audi wheels are often very heavy and a good saving can be made here if you’re willing to be flexible on tyre sizing. Appreciate there’s not any budget left though.

I have the Leon Cupra R with the similar engine set up without the 4 wheel drive. I took the engine out to replace the manifold. Well, more specifically, do the studs as well as one was broken. Used shorter stainless studs and nuts to make accessing the top row of nuts a lot easier. Then i cracked 2 valves and took the engine out again, and replaced the lot with a low mileage lump out the 225 TT. Just use standard manifolds as they chinafolds will crack, it's just a matter of when.
