What I really like about Anthony Padilla's Interviews is that there's a mix between interviewing normal people who are big online/well known for what they do AND the acceptance of those who are different to normal people in society. Anthony shows this way of interviewing people positively and showing how everyone's still the same - they just identify/act in their own sort of way. Anthony is so positive and cares towards others and brings everyone closer together in one big community, in the whole population

i'm 27 years old, so emo was really big when i was in middle and high school. most of my friends were emo and scene kids. i always wanted to try it but my parents wouldn't let me. i also had a huuuuge crush on an emo/punk type dude, because of friggin' course. i still remember his snake bite piercings, and the single gold streak in his swoopy black hair. lmao. he was also the guitar player in a heavy metal band. like c'mon. i sometimes found random reasons to talk to him, but we didn't sit near each other in class, and i figured he wouldn't like a nerdy girl. sometimes i still stalk his Facebook and he's single...so am i... what was i talking about again? oh yeah. not ever trying the emo style in high school. but this video has inspired me!! i may be old now and the trend may be dead, but there is nothing stopping me from being an emo now!! which is empowering. i feel sorry for people who refuse to ever wear a style once it goes "out of fashion," even if they themselves like it. anyway, thanks for the video. i think we all miss 2007 a little bit right now :)

Suggestion: I spend a day with (gaijin) gyaru! Gyaru is a fashion and lifestyle that first became popular in the mid/late 90s in Japan as Western culture started to become popular. Japanese girls, who had always been taught that beauty was black hair, pale skin, modesty and submissiveness were not only inspired by American/Western fashion, bleach blonde hair and tans, but the attitude of dressing as one wants, living as one desires, and making one's voice heard. By the early/mid 00s it was SO popular that if you walked around the Shibuya area of Tokyo (the centre of gal fashion) you'd be SURROUNDED by many different sub-styles of gyaru, all with their own BIG colourful hair, vibrant outfits that varied from neon and "racy" to pink and lacey, dark tans, OTT long nails covered in giant charms, and makeup often using multiple upper and lower false lashes and special coloured contacts called circle lenses with heavy contour and highlight to give the appearance of BIG eyes and a small nose/face. It even eventually developed its own culture - Gyaru would form groups called Circles that would meet up regularly to shop, take purikura (photo booths where you can add cute text/emojis then print as photo stickers) and sit in the middle of the street to do makeup (something Japanese girls wouldn't dare DREAM to do before!) - they even had their own dance style, Para-Para. But ALAS, just like Emo, gals began to disappear a decade or so ago, with popular gal fashion brands ceasing production/closing their doors, gal magazines stopped publication, and gyaru became a rarity in shibuya. But! one place that has experienced a HUGE gyaru boom in recent years is overseas. "Gaijin (foreign) gyaru" as they are called are keeping the culture alive, with there being MANY gaijin gal circles across multiple nations, international events/meet ups, and even their own Gaijin Gal magazine and award show. Why has this Japanese trend from the 90/00s resonated with SO MANY Western girls? What are the challenges in keeping alive a fashion/culture where many of the resources no longer exist? And is this Western gal boom potentially getting the Japanese to fall back in love Gyaru again?
