The advantage the Europeans have is that Italy can play Poland, France, Slovenia, Serbia, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Czechs in about a 90 minute flight or less. The U.S. only has Canada and Cuba and neither is that close to where USA VB is based.

Hi, I am an upcoming freshman next year. Boys volleyball is an actual sport now at my high school so I will be able to play all 4 years. I think I am going for middle blocker. Since I am a boy and they don’t do that for middle schoolers I haven’t played except for a couple of pickup matches before. I have gotten the basics of passing and setting down, and I have learned float serve and jump is a work in progress right now. But since there weren’t any boys volleyball teams I haven’t ever had a net, court, or most importantly a team. I can only do so much when practicing. Any tips for solo practice? I have a clinic coming up next month for my school too.
