On the razor front, have you considered using a traditional safety razor? They're so much cheaper over time and sharper, and more sustainable. They don't have any gel on them so you have to use your own cream and they can be a bit scary but truly the closest shave you'll ever get

Hi!👋 Would you recommend any particular brands or kinds of safety razors?
@biancamillan46922 жыл бұрын
@@phoebe688 i personally have an albatross brand safety razor that was a rather random gift- but i do love it and works/feels great! however if i were to ever need another one for whatever reason i would definitely splurge on a ouithepeople brand safety razor!

Lawrence of Arabia inspired Frank Herbert's Dune, and Dune inspired George Lucas' Star Wars :)

Vote up! George cherry picked so many elements from books and movies that inspired him to make Star Wars. Dune was a major influence 🙏

I've been seeing Skin & Me SO much lately, so I really appreciated seeing this!! And I had no idea about Rare Beauty - how lush did that cream blush look? I would LOVE to see you test Il Makiage - those ads plague me on Instagram and honestly, it's wearing me down! I think it's definitely meant for full coverage people, but it'd be interesting to see if that's just how it's targeted towards me!

i absolutely loved this! the part where you asked for the person watching to subscribe, like, and turn on notifications felt so natural. i was captivated the whole time and i loved how you filmed this! thanks for sharing!!

I actually use the Harry’s razors myself! I have always preferred razors marketed towards men. Their moisturising bar on the razor too is lovely, maybe you’ll enjoy that? :) loved this video, as always ❤️

For razors I would 100% recommend either a traditional safety razor or something of the sort. I use Leaf Shave, and they are amazing and completely plastic free. For moisture I also use a conditioner, I use the ordinary conditioner for my hair and it's inexpensive and works great for legs. These safety type razors are really great because up front they are a bit pricey, but then buying only the blades is a few cents per blade forever. Most of them also have recycling programs for their blades :)

Leaf razors! It's literally the best shave of my life. It's a fully metal razor, and uses replaceable metal blades like a safety razor, but it has a hungering head. It's a bit expensive, but i've had mine for 2 years now and it works amazing

I used dollar shave club razors for a while and grew to not like them. Since then I've been using Billie which I feel last a really long time so I'd recommend trying them if you haven't. And then I've been advertised these sustainable metal handles that you swap out the blades manually? I'd be interested in seeing your thoughts on something like that!

you can get flamingo at Target! I love it because it makes ~self care~ if you choose to do that more time and financially manageable! re shaving -> Im a big fan of a safety razor since they last and they're affordable. I know a lot of people also enjoy the leaf shave!

The rare beauty products are packaged that way (quite chunky) so that they are easier to open for people with mobility issues.
@InfinitelyYours3332 жыл бұрын
wow I didn’t even realize it was built up packaging! I hope the beauty world considers accessibility like that more often!

a rep from the company said it was just a coincidence and they haven't done any testing on accessible packaging, but that they're hoping to explore it in the future

By the way, on the skin & me tingling - I got the same sensation just using the Ordinary's Azelaic Acid and also in my prescription acne products, so it could be the acid rather than additional menthol :) (but obviously not sure!) Enjoyed the vid as always xx

I use zero waste razor (mine is brand geisha shawer) and I really like it. The blades come in pack of 50 and last quite a long time. Would recommend! Blades obvs are very sharp so be careful with those when changing!

Same. It's a scary transition to how sharp they are but now I love my geisha shaver and wouldn't go back to other shavers.

Azelaic acid in high doses can sting at the beginning. I like 10% better than 15% :) So i would maybe not use it 15% everyday but skip a day :) the serum from facetheory has niacinamide an azelaic acid 10% and you get a lot of product :) so you could use this as a dupe :)

Regarding Skin & Me, if you have sensitive skin then maybe give this one a miss, I dont have the most sensitive skin but this gave me dermatitis and my whole face was peeling (I know this can happen with tret/retinol but not to this level) in my dose I had tret, niacinamide and something else I cant remember and was told to use it everyday.. I didnt use it everyday because retinol is very strong and you have to work up to everyday but I used it for a few weeks every other day and it ruined my skin... I used it in Nov/Dec and my skin is still recovering now.. so just beware

Companies that sell you a subscription while trying to stand for sustainability like estrid… big nono Safety razors or for example the Leaf Shave are way more sustainable choices for shaving

Would of loved to see cut always to you using or the products to better get your experience. Otherwise very thorough! I tried flamingo as well and felt the same. I think ilia does a recycling program, maybe you can recycle it that way? Would of been good for them to have their own send back program

Someone may have already said this, but I just wanted to mention that the Dune film is based on a book and the books of Dune came out before Star Wars. Those books greatly inspired and influenced the creation of Star Wars. Thought you'd be interested in knowing that! :)
@tarynwilson56582 жыл бұрын
I currently use FFS for shaving but I don't think it's that good tbh - it would be cool to see you test them to get your opinion on the company! I also tried skin+me and found it didn't do anything except make my skin worse (more redness, eczema flare ups and made texture worse?) So I switched to Dermatica instead and find that for some reason it works so much better for me as a subscription skin care service.

Pretty sure Star Wars was actually based on Dune. Not the other way around! Dune is the first major sci Fi novel universe. Star Wars was inspired by Dune :) someone correct me if I'm wrong.
@Morwena2 жыл бұрын
Dune was created before Star Wars. In fact, George Lucas WAS INSPIRED BY DUNE, to many Star Wars visuals by descriptions from the Dune book series. So no, Star Wars wasn't an inspiration to Dune, but rather Dune was an inspiration to Star Wars.

personally, i think a lot of brands are engaging in positive discrimination purely based on the realm that the majority of charities that they support (to do with race) are targeted at black women. i totally understand this but they can’t claim to be encouraging diversity when brown women and other ethnic minorities are being overshadowed. it just ticks a box for them.
