India still kept and practiced most of their traditions and rituals for thousands of years. It is still alive until today because it has a strong significance about it. A lot to learn from their rich culture and heritage.

Hi Chris, Culture shocks a pretty normal for everyone outside their society, and Indian culture probably with India probably one of the hardest to digest, and I would like to thank you for experiencing our culture with an open mind. I have a-lot of respect for you having given the land, the people an opportunity . I hope you inspire more people to view Hinduism and India with such perspective. Hari Om Tat Sat

I've seen some videos lately on here which have been hugely negative, but that is not the truth. The truth is far more nuanced and there is both good and bad. Thanks to the excellent guides I had in Varanasi I was able to learn about the city and culture in a good way.

At 40 mins start in the video I am sorry to say but much of the true ancient knowledge by your guides were not represented properly with its essence and it’s not their fault it’s just so complex and deep with such ancient knowledge and traditions it’s hard to explain in modern language and that too in English where words may fell short. Hope you will come back to India and dive much more deeper

@@ChrisKermis Hello Chris, well as Im sure youre aware, its very possible these days to travel around the world and u less youre very careful you will only interact with people in the tourist industry. Or people trying to sell you something, get a tip and so on. As a consequence theyre not being authentic, theyre shining you on as it were. My practice has always been to spend a long time in every place I go, even if I dont like it too much! Set up a routine, buy fruit from the same person, drink chai at the same time and place, after a few days, you then become of interest to 'real' people. Youre not doing the usual tourist things like taking pics of tourist spots. That 'you' are there to learn from the people and environment means people then come to meet you, enquire about you and then reveal so very much more than would be discovered with a cursory glance. Specific to India, anywhere really, pilgrimage and 'holy' places tend to be the cultural hotbeds where the philosophy of the people is most easily revealed. And like you, my motivation has always been to see why people do the things they do, their motivations and so on. What you do so wel is being interested in the people, and that will and has taken you a long way already!

I am very grateful to have been able to watch this video about the Aghoris, because what I had seen before about the Aghoris was disgusting and told me to avoid approaching Aghoris at all costs. But this video has completely changed my perception of these people. On the other hand, I have seen leper colonies in Africa and they were Catholics who took care of the lepers, so it is not only the Aghoris who take care of lepers and it is true that there is a hospital in India that holds a Guinness record for having treated the most lepers, but could it be because other countries do more prevention and India does not do enough prevention!!!

Kudos on your coverage. An Aghori does not follow some syllabus or fixed training. The intention is to destroy every aspect of fear & violence. To achieve that you have first experience what is most fearful to what we call civilisation. They live in isolation overcoming all thoughts & behaviour which “we define as civilisation “. They are trained to be fearless fierce fighters but never engage or initiate violence. Obviously the powers can create the “extreme” character who exploits the powers gifted by the Devil. Reporters obviously seek the extreme one as its very fascinating & entertaining to viewers. Another facet to consider India crazy & beyond description. Anything considered normal or safe is to be challenged.

Hi Chris!! Are you still in Varanasi?
@ChrisKermis12 күн бұрын
No, this video was made a while ago
@deep290112 күн бұрын
@ChrisKermis I need to tell you that what you are searching for isn't just there with those Aghori sadhus of Varanasi. It's nothing but mockery. Spirituality can't be found in religions or religious preachings but in humanity. Right now LA county and California is burning but we are trying still politicizing the matter. Some are becoming very happy, by seeing how the super riched people were robbed away, while many are crying there, who really worked so much hard, and made there homes but suddenly had to lose everything away because of the mother nature's fury or someone's cupidity. I am from Varanasi and I live here from 2013. Though I was born in this place, I had once ran the race for money and had the fortune to live in HK. But lost everything one-day suddenly, not because of natural disaster or anything like but because of the nature inside me as it was trying to know myself. I am really sad by seeing these sadhus of Hinduism speaking so much about God. But really they haven't seen themselves yet. I make myself happy by working for poor people, making them happy. I try to give them as much as I can and exactly that's what the biggest and largest democracies need to do. Loving people from within, and without being selfish or ego is the real essence of happiness. When they love me back, and when I see the power of God, fulfill all my wishes, I then come to realize what He likes or dislikes. Right now the world needs to find the meaning of life instead of mockering about others.
