Writing my dissertation was really stressful and I had moments when I fully thought I couldn’t do it lol I did it man and I’m still proud of what I did. 12,000 words feels really overwhelming but a lot of us wrote over it. so don’t stress over word count the content is more important and you can always cut down. It’s better to cut out then have not enough! You probably know that already but it’s always good to be reminded! Good luck with it before you know it it’ll be done

To anyone writing an essay or diss or whatever and you wanna type up quotes from a book, i actually used a hanger (the thicker kind that has the teeth things, my god why is there no word for those but they're used for like skirts that kind of thing and they keep the item hung straight) and then I clipped one of the teeth things onto my laptop and one onto the book and then I can just look back and forth without having to open and close the book a million times, saved me a lot of time and effort so hope it helps anyone :)

I'm seriously impressed on how much you managed to do in a day. I am writing my Bachelor Thesis (like the dissertation) right now. I am a student in Germany and I have to write between 35 to 70 pages so that roughly translates to the same. And mine is also due at the end of March and I am super scared of it not being good or not finishing. I have to present my thesis on tuesday and still haven't finished reading my book and I don't know why, but it is extremely daunting to do everything. My thesis is a gendered reading of Wuthering Heights with aspects to the society, the gothic and relationships (both romantic and family), so there is a lot, but I am just not motivated enough to do anything. so I know exactly how you are feeling Jack!! And please let the content about your dissertation coming, it's going to help someone in the same situation :D

My thesis is also due in March and this video seems like a harsh reminder from KZbin to stop wasting my time and get to work. I have a 80-100 page dissertation and I've segregated my chapters and I presented my first draft last week (it was approved and appreciated!) but the most major difficulty I have been having is focusing with balancing between end semesters and applying for my Master's program and also continuous essays that are due. Choosing a non-literary topic didn't help much either, but I highly encourage anyone who wants to study media as their primary texts to try it! It's a very different experience. I'm working on Body Politics in Videogames, namely Bayonetta. Any words of help would be greatly appreciated. Also if you're reading this and in the process of writing a dissertation, good luck!

By the time I completed the course, I had completed the degree and achieved a first. Another person on my course left their dissertation to the last day. Didn't do ANY work toward it. Nothing. They wrote it in 24 hours. They also got a first. ... That was the day I lost faith in universities.

Not me stressing over having to write my 5 000 word bachelor thesis in a week. The problem is my research partner (who had one single job that I didn't double check: copy pasting the right psychological questionnaire into our online survey before we went on to the neurological testing. Suprise, suprise, even given the authors, year and version, she used a completely wrong questionnaire) accidentally messed up my entire concept and argumentation. So I just started my literary research. But at least all the data work is done already 😅. I am so screwed
