I spent the night "camping" in this off-grid treehouse built 50 feet off the ground! That's a little over 15 meters for my metric friends! Located half an hour outside the trendy mountain town of Asheville, NC, this treehouse tiny home in the Blue Ridge Mountains might just be one of the greatest and most unique overnight experiences I have ever had. Could this be the best treehouse stay in America?! It might be for the stunning views alone...

This video is part two in a series of videos I'll be making throughout this year that I'm calling Inside/Outside, USA! I'll be exploring off-grid cabins, earthships, yurts, tiny homes and other alternative camping spaces that invite the outdoors in!
Check out part one in the series where I stayed in a giant potato tiny home in Idaho: • I Spent the Night in t...
This channel will always be primarily about backpacking, hiking and traditional tent camping, but I'm excited to bring videos about these non-traditional camping stays to my channel to show how many unique and wonderful ways there are for anyone to get outside! 💚

Check out Benezette in Pennsylvania - Wild Elk roam the hills up close and personal! Beautiful hiking trails, Benezette Wines is a winery/cider house (so good!), and of course the Elk County Visitor Center! Drive around the area to the several wildlife look outs to see herds of elk! There's wagon rides at the center, the Sinnemahoning Creek is great for floating or fishing. Come around early fall during the rut and you'll hear tons of bugling, plus the leaves will start to change. There's several cabins, tents, camping sites, and I'm sure there's places to backpack too! You'd love it!

If you're looking for ideas, there's a place along the North Shore of Lake Superior in MN that's built to look like a lighthouse. It's definitely not roughing it by any stretch of the imagination, but the Superior Hiking Trail which it's near is spectacular hiking for MN. Thanks for the cool treehouse video!

Loved the SHT! Last fall I went on my first backpacking trip, it was on the Lusten to Grand Marais section NOBO. Is the lighthouse you're talking about near there, or more in the Duluth area?

Very cool - I would love to stay there! You should also stay in a fire lookout. There are quite a few of them here in the Pacific Northwest, similar to this treehouse, if perhaps a bit less bougie. For many of them, you have to hike in, so it combines backpacking with staying in a really neat, but minimal structure with an amazing view.

I so love that thing!!!! Buuuutt, I'm just like, why would you build such an elaborate place upon a foundation that will die, decompose, and collapse. Oof. The most worrisome thing is we won't be able to see the structural integrity because it happens inside the wood. If you have seen the weakening of wood from the inside like I have, you wouldn't trust this structure. Less over time. I've also lived in climates that would blow that thing over. It's so awesomely cool, but no matter how much of an epic treehouse it is, it's safe days are numbered.

Amazing as always. I really feel you are one of the most relatable personalities I have ever seen! The first I saw was when you were under REI doing product demonstrations and reviews. Quite traditional and straight laced but still Miranda. Next was MIW where I got to see "Miranda Unleashed!" And wow what an amazing personality! Still informative but everything really stuck well. Just so much fun while still educational. Now your own project. I can't describe it well. Not as "business like" as early REI and not as wild as the MIW but just amazing. Just seems so "normal" and "real" (all were real, but hope you get my point", I don't and can't have a favorite as every one was you. You are the show. While there are other excellent and special youtubers on hiking and such, I have to admit I keep coming back you and your approach as my favorite! Thank you for being you. Thank you for what you share with us. And thank your team for their amazing work. While I would love to see all of your team more, I have to respect Ranier and his decision to keep the focus on you.
