Mostly visual. I have not skated MTEs They are for water resistant purpose.

Have you skated in these? I am looking for an all purpose travel shoe that looks good enough to wear in the city / out to dinner, but also is good for a bit of hiking and skating... I won't necessarily be in mega cold weather tho - so do these feel too warm?

hey! im sorry these do not have a proper tread for skateboarding, it would be difficult. The shoe gets cold if youre in a cold region. I bought them as rain shoes. Good luck finding your fit!

I wear them on rain or snow days and they keep my feet warm and dry almost always. I’m impressed with them .

Should be able to on vans website, or in store. If not they stopped production, or out of season.

@@liam_dawson I searched them everywhere, I think they are gone (here in Middle Europe at least) I search for wide Sneakers with hard/durable soles (like hiking soles) and they need to be water proof.. I want black ones but I only found colored, "work shoe look" and brown Exo MTE-1's.. Not that one you got 😅 most shoes broke after 2 months and most nowadays shoes got me blisters on my toes and I got pain in my metatarsus because they have this "8" Silhouette but my feet are "V" shaped.. I think the Exo's are too 8 shaped for me but I would like to try them.. There is only one Vans Shop in my "area" (I need to travel 2 hours with the ICE for it) but they never had them in stock.. Aaaaah I also would like normal MTE-1's in all Black but with white Vans/Jazz stripe and slip lace BUT you can't customize the sholes on there website...

@@MSDK_DARKDRAGON okay sounds like a mission, also shout out to Europe that’s sick! Tbh I upgraded last winter (all rain here) to even truer waterproof shoes (gore-Tex) which these Vans MTEs are only water resistant. The MTE’s do the trick but could be abit better. I highly recommend the ECCO MEN'S MX LOW GTX SHOE. Not very skater looking but all black with a authentic shape, and very flexible shoe! Waterproof AF.

@@liam_dawson I have the SK8-HI GORE-TEX MTE-3, but it's too warm for them now 😅 My first pair of shoes lasting over 6 months without sholes falling apart, blisters all over my toes 'n heel or just.. fall apart (Hummel) And they also only fit with hiking or Techwear clothes.. I still can't find black ones, just very ugly MTE-1's.. 😬
