Innovations on software are a big draw for me as imo hardware peaked a few generations ago. I really like what Samsung have done but I just can't shake the appeal of owning a pixel so no plans to switch.

The AI stuff is interesting, it makes the phone a few percent more fun, the hardware and software itself is what sells it for me, they are such polished products, it's a bit painful leaving Samsung and why I came back.

Hey Jason,... I saw you today, Sunday on Leo's Tech program, I am very pleased to see that you started a new path, and I'm absolutely hoping you remember my handle from years past. I am going to go through the content that you've already produced and see what I can absorb. 🙂 On this particular podcast. I wanted to hear about this smart phone and what you had to say about it. I am in the near future. Going to upgrade to a new smart phone. Having learned from my first smart phone many lessons that have shaped what I would like in my next phone. @@Techsploder hopefully in the future. My participation and input will be helpful, if you don't recognize my handle that's okay... You would have had to be in Leo's chat room... I was there the today and occasionally over the last few weeks,... I popped in there, seems like the people that control the chat room were still there, and just a very few of the people that used to be in their several years ago. Just as a hint... Those that ran the chat room are pretty much the ones that destroyed it and made people who tried to contribute to the show feel very unwelcome. Having participated in that chat room for well over 10 years. I know the room very well and the various cycles. It has gone through. Maybe one day we'll have the opportunity to meet and share things that technically are probably not important any more. I participate in many KZbin channels and so does a few of the people from Leo's chat room who have decided to move on, and you know what, I have a blast with these other people on these other channels on KZbin. Anyways, maybe I will give them a heads up on what you're doing. 🙂

Not overblown hype.. these features are life-changing indeed. I’ve changed the way I use my phone with all the AI editing that is available. But that’s not what makes Samsung successful. It’s that they have global marketing reach to make Galaxy AI THE AI that everyone in the world will know about. Google’s Pixel is no where to be seen except in limited international markets. Samsung is literally in every major city in every region in the world. It’s more GALAXY than ANDROID.

Too bad Galaxy AI won't be free for too long. Word is they'll start charging a subscription for it in about a year or so.

Could be, not all features though. I'd guess Samsung chooses a few peak utility features to throw behind the paywall. And I doubt they'll be the only ones doing it too.
