Sammy ends up on the lam in California after a Ramper plot gone bad. Only somehow he finds himself locked up in a Tijuana jail for weeks with no sense of freedom in sight.

As to a person who has turned their life around and can give others hope? That’s amazing! I’m not condemning Sammy, I just said I prefer someone who can give people a bit of hope. Sammys stories are great! Nothing wrong with them. Here in America we used to be allowed to express our thoughts.... You expressed yours, I did the same. Being tough on a computer is easy..... Doung what Sammy and Micheal have done? Survived? Few have survived. You go on being tough. I’ll go on believing in HOPE. I’ve escaped that life, so trust me, hope is the greatest thing there is. Ahh the partying on Revolution in Tijuana! Definitely a good time in what feels like an alternate universe. If you ever wondered what the wild west was really like, this is probably the closest modern example. Throw in drug cartel presence and remember where you are. Be a good tourist. There's definitely a vibe that this place could easily eat you up at any moment if you wanted to act up. It's so much fun haha

@@tricky2055 not been my experience in Mexico and have traveled extensively throughout the country from Mexico city through Baja peninsula. Also many Americans don't realize how conservative most Mexicans lean. Deeply Catholic and not very liberal. Unfortunately you have a bad economy in much of the country. Big agricultural companies have pushed out the local farmers and you have corruption in government from the drug cartels. All of this drives many north. So in a way, you can personally thank the US war on drugs and big agriculture companies in the US for driving people out. Funny, isn't it? (Not laughing) 😐

Thank You for sharing stories from your life Mr.Gravano. I stay away from Mexico. I went there in the late 1990's and had a similar experience with a couple females were all over me and a 3rd female tried to pick my pocket. They thought my chain was connected to my wallet but it was just connected to my keys because I knew how bad the place is. A group of guys came up angry because the girls didn't get to rob and they were trying to intimidate me. Thankfully the friends I was meeting came from the back and ended that crap real quick because they were connected in that town through relation. I will still never go back. I will keep my ass in the Good Ole USA.

Your story reminded me when I was in the Navy back in the early 90's, stationed in San Diego for "A" school. I went across the border many times, and stayed over night, even though we service people had to be out of Mexico at midnight. I slept in a shit hole motel, that didn't even have a lock on the door. But to make a long story short, one of my buddy's got robbed by the Mexican Police, and sent back to the border in handcuffs. The Police are so corrupt down there...ridiculous!

I went to TJ in 1967 as a teen with a buddy of mine when we were teens. I was still a pretty wild place at that time. We both bought switchblades in a store and the moment we walked out a cop was there and asked if we wanted to buy tickets to the bull fight. I noticed two cops across the street watching him and as my friend said no I said yes. The moment he had the ticket money he and the two watching him left and so did we. Stayed a few more days and crossed the border back to the US. Any police type uniform in Mexico back then meant that person had a license to extort of false charges or strong arm rob you at their will or so it seemed to me. It was far worse in some of the third would countries I've been in. Even the nice ones things are achieved with bribes in most cases.

These types stories by ex mob guys are better than most mob movies or books by ex mob guys. These guys have a knack for getting into situations like this one and other crazy stories. Probably living through these experiences is a large part of why they like that life (besides the money and "power"). Despite danger involved in these incidents like the Tiajuana story, ,for them, especiallky the real gangsters rather than the racketeers,, its fun, and keeps life from becoming boring or monotonous.

Love the storys Sammy and you tell them so well that it makes me feel like I'm there. Like you said, you don't just tell the stories. You relive them when you tell them, which puts the emotion in them. You have a great talent there mate. Thank you and Kind Regards ... John ...

Legit. The exchangers he's talking about are this exchange houses, usually 10 or so in a shopping center right on the border. We used to change our dollars for pesos at this places before hitting Mex to party. I was like 13 and already knew money went in the socks. Mr. Sammy got trapped with cops thinking they're getting a payday . We use to get into fights all the time never got arrested. Then again we were poor and they knew there was no ransom to come get us.

Michael is a good story teller too. He just wasn't as crazy as Sammy so therefore didn't quit get into as wild shit as Sammy. I mean the Tijuana situation is pretty wild but stealing millions from the govt with Mike's gasoline scheme is pretty wild too. I guess its just a matter of perspective

Adding to what Frenchy said above, imagine a Netflix series that starts every episode with Sammy sitting in his chair and starting to tell the story, then it switches to live action and that episode is the story he is telling. It ends back with him sitting in the chair to wrap up the narration. Would be a smash hit!

The stories are interesting. Most normal people couldn't imagine being part of any of the stories, and a long time mob guy probably has thousands of them. But the fact that the mob is now telling stories all over You Tube these days, and there are hundreds of books out by ex mob guys,TV appearances and reality shows, etc ., has to have taken away any mystique the mob once had. In the early days of it being a "secret society",nobody was even sure if the "mafia" was real and if it was real ,then nobody even knew who they were for the most part. Back then, the nice old guy selling ice cream on the corner could be the same guy that bombs buildings or cuts throats.

That's what I love about home. I remember coming to San Diego from Brooklyn the first time and man it's really like being in another world. Shit, just so different. NY cats mostly travel up and down the east coast and go to Florida lot, very few travel out west, so CA is really is like being on Mars. And just like ole school NY your friends will laugh at the most serious shit that happens to you, and all you can do is shake your head and say fu*ck you guys and laugh with them. Love NYC!
