Bo przecież jak Piotruś, który mieszkał w małej mieścinie, może umieć angielski. Tu się muszą doczepić do akcentu, który akurat moduluje. Wymyślają błędy i tak dalej. A jak ktoś umie trochę gorzej to od razu, lecą teksty w stylu: ''Kaleczysz, ten język, lepiej w nim nie mów'' '' Nie mogę, go słuchać'' ''Jak w XXI w. można, nie umieć angielskiego'' Nie tylko zauważyłem to w życiu, ale również np. jak youtuberzy polscy coś mówią po angielsku i od razu, każdy się śmieje i najlepsze, że nie wystarczą same błędy, ale to że się jąkasz, mówisz wolno czy używasz prostego języka. Sami pewnie, nic by nie powiedzieli. Ogólnie, samo używanie obcego języka przez Polaków, sprawia to, że nagle znajdzie się sporo osób, które będą się śmiać. Mój znajomy, kiedyś po niemiecku mówił, do turystów. To wszyscy nagle złapali bekę, mimo że nikt, nie umiał tego języka z nich. To samo z akcentem. Umiesz praktycznie go używać, to ktoś się przyczepi, że go wymuszasz i że ci to nie wychodzi naturalnie a jak mówisz bez akcentu, to cie krytykują, że słychać w nim polski akcent.

Na mój niemiecki na szczęście nigdy nikt nie śmiał się nic powiedzieć, bo umiałam ten język najlepiej w klasie i zazwyczaj pomagałam innym. Ale jeśli chodzi o angielski to strach się odezwać. Bo po prostu mam wrażenie, że jak tylko nie masz pięknego amerykańskiego akcentu (którego osobiście nie lubię i bardziej używam brytyjskiego) to od razu mówią, że zły akcent i nie umiesz angielskiego xD przez to mój angielski jest na mega słabym poziomie. Oh, też kocham to wieczne wyśmiewanie nauki angielskiego. Sama boję się nawet pisać po angielsku, za to nie mam problemu z rozumieniem tekstów i wypowiedzi (chyba, że ktoś mówi z tak mocnym akcentem, że za bardzo zniekształca to słowa). Ba, od wielu lat gram właściwie tylko po angielsku, siedzę na angielskich stronach. I dalej bez przymusu nigdy nie powiem i nie napiszę nic po angielsku. :/

Wrong. You can learn "communicative Polish" as fast as "communicative English" . A true fun do start when you want really manage both. As a Pole I can say True English is not less difficult , sophisticated and rich than Polish. I think except pronunciation Polish is even easier and not that lexically complex. Even fluent understanding CNN or BBC does not make me feel I understand anything if trying to follow any English movie - which is damned frustrating.

It's like you had to use more brainpower to live and it really helps in a wide variety of things, starting from learning pretty much anything. Also that's why japanese/chinese people are generally smart, their writing system looks like it was made to communicate in advanced code and it requires a lot of determination and discipline to learn. And so it affects how their society looks like, but it's a topic for another conversation.

@@majksu And what kind of measuring equipment do you have to make such "authoritative" diagnoses about the degree of use of "brainpower" or of "hardeness in nature". ( Whatrver the hell it is, supposed to be "hardeness in nature" (UFO?) If this is the case, then why is it that the most foreigners in Poland speaks correctly and even with good pronunciation after a few years and can often be traced as a foreigner only after a small slip-up. Most Poles in the USA or Germany never master English or German. I know those.... Or do count the number of synonyms in English. And these are mostly not "full" synonyms. Each supposedly means the same thing, but has been used in a different , specific context and a different shade of meaning, creating completely different idiomatic and precise phraseological compounds depending on which very specific synonym you happen to choose, which is why every linguistically literate Englishman immediately identifies it. In the reverse situation in Polish - NO, cause Polish language is a free style baroque and chaotic primitive in comparison. Much talking - less meaning. Why did a writer of great "brainpower", Józef Conrad Korzeniowski, mastered the rules of English, but they were ONLY perfectly correct. His books are still written to the end by the hand of a foreigner, in correct, but strange English, with syntax, phrasing and dynamics that are those damn blurred clichés of Polish. Of course, English Language can be simple if you need it to ask at a railway station where you can poop,actually, but if you for instance compare the original of "Ulysses" with the Polish translation by Slomczynski (who was bilingual at home, so he was fairly objective) you can see the chaotic, potato-shaped immensity of Polish, and if there is anything "difficult" about it for an Englishman or American, it is this exotic and blurry potato-shapedness, quite alien to the sprit of his language. In Polish, you can say many sentences in a different array as opposed to English, you can torture it with diminutives, inflections,so on , but it does not make the language "rich". A language is not supposed to be "rich" but to communicate. And Polish it just a bland, incommunicative, watery in content potato soup easy to grasp for the moderately talented when they get its "secret"....... Seems sometimes to be offtopic but not as much as it seems to be at the first gl ance I hope... What shall I do when I don't like Polish doughy and wheezing language which is my native one. What a badl uck... Howgh! ( I'm asking all the native speakers hereby to excuse me for my badly handicapped English, please)

I cannot even imagine how hard it must me to learn polish grammar. It is my first language, and my familly always cared aboud speaking correctly, so for me it is just natural thing, but i see, and hear maaaaaany polish people making grammar and spelling mistakes. So don't worry it is a hard language even for natives :). The most important thing is that we can understand you, even without declension :). And that you are trying, and making so much effort to learn :)

for natives ? for us ? course it is not...and i don't know any poles who make grammar mistakes while speaking polish...the philosophy of our language is bit different than english language philosophy...polish language complexity level is higher but it doesn't mean nothing...i would even say that english language sort of simplicity is a big advantage cose you can understand things better and quicker ...and btw. i dont say that english language is easy to learn..well...it is maybe for some but definitelly not for most..pzdr...

I'm italian and I live in Poland, I actually never tried to learn grammar and such, i gave up right away with mianownik. I just learnt a little bit by osmosis, and it's REALLY hard for non slavic speakers to learn correct polish grammar, especially declinations.

A lot of mistakes are made because of dialect. In some parts of poland people use dialect topical for part of the country where they're coming from. So if they have conversation with other person from poland they mostly using vocabulary with "dialect". For example group of people from Silesia when they speak with "own dialect" is barely understandable even for other Polish.

I'm extremely impressed with your Polish because after only 3 mounths you are able to ecpress your thoughts and everything is understandable. Of course there are some issues with inflecting but in some situations even native speakers have problems with some forms so it's absolutely ok. One thing I noticed is that your pronunciation is suprisingly good and especially sound "ę" is strongly marked, in word like "lubię" for example, what is very rare for non-polish people to do so. To sum up: Zajebiście, gratuluję i powodzenia z dalszą nauką!

Hi Trev, I have to say you're doing great. Thumbs up! I remember when I've started my journey with English. 15 years ago, I couldn't make progress quick enough, often losing my patience. I noticed that if I was listening and watching a lot of english films, videos, radio couldn't be any better trying to get what they say or trying to speak better, correct english. The Only way to get forward, get better was try to speak a lot and listen a lot pretty same time. Anything new, new sentences, new expressions which frankly are totally different in polish language, any new staff I remembered had to use asap in conversation to memorize it for good. My opinion everyone who wants to talk foreign language at the good level got to spent 5 years on it by being surrounded by one. I know what they say, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years you will be fluent and ...such a stuff never happens, trust me on this. ...you're doing great, don't quit, do not lose your patience, on the other hand we learn new things all our live. All the best.

Great job! I've been trying to learn polish through youtube videos like yours, but I am no longer dating a polish woman, so I never have a chance to speak it here in the US. So, I find myself forgetting much of the vocabulary that took me so long to learn. So, trying something like this vocal training will help me a lot!
