Round bases? Square bases? Why not Hexagonal bases; the best of both worlds 🤩 The new army is looking tremendous. 110AUD? That's like 10 quid in real money. As an old man, it does my heart good to hear you talking about working with your Dad on your protects.

Scale it up by two sides. Octagon bases can butt up against each other just like square bases for Fantasy, but are round enough to act basically as circles for AoS.

Though it's never gonna be "tournament legal" I like the direction you're going here just making the models you want to and having your own creative journey. It's what I imagine the earliest days of D&D and wargames must have been like
@KaeEbonrai

Tournament legal shouldn’t matter - and tbh, back in the days of the white dwarf issues he showed, this sort of stuff used to be shown off in white dwarf as tournament armies that won awards at the tournaments.

I love the way you took us through your thought process for the Ogre boss on dragon thing as you went - there's something so inspiring watching a project going from individual bits to fully fledged model. The thought process behind going with the slouching pose, choosing arms etc. is really interesting. The way you talk about how looking through old White Dwarfs makes you feel like you can accomplish that stuff is exactly what your recent videos are doing for me, and, I would bet, for other people.

I mean, if I am not mistaken, the Ogre Kingdoms might lend themselves to be put on round bases. That way you can use them in AoS and then get the moving trays to put them into formation for Warhammer Fantasy. Josh from Miniwargaming does it in a similar fashion. Great video btw, take care and keep on modelling!!!

rounds bases, maybe 3d print square bases that you slot the round bases into, just grab a square base, make it an extra 2-4mm thick and use a round base stl to make 2 part bases that fit perfectly, best of both worlds, also kinda neat to have

These WD issues is where I started with the hobby. If, as a fellow Aussie, you have all those issues where Dave Taylor was the editor, have a look at something I noticed recently by mistake - read the fine print "contributors" at the start of the magazine. They had a lot of fun wirh those from month to month. Also, the era you are talking about is before the company floated to the stock market.
