I'm happy that more and more people are getting passionate or re-passionate about the game! It seems to me that you also want to play (at least at locals), and if I may I would like to advise you a couple of things: -I suggest you buy staples for your deck, the most used currently are ash blossom, infinite impermanence, nibiru, dimensional shifter (which is not played in all decks, but you said you want to play millennium, which is one of the few decks that can play shifter). Staples are very strong and generic cards that all decks can play, and they help you stop your opponent. -I also advise you to prefer buying single cards rather than packs or boxes, it's true that it's beautiful to open packs and maybe get lucky and find something rare like the silhouette rabbid quarter century rare that you found, but in 99% of cases you will just throw away your money. -One last advice I can give you is to have fun and don't get discouraged if you lose your first locals, after all it's just a card game. Good luck with your journey!!

Ive done pretty good for myself buying singles at around 7 packs at a time and selling what i dont use. I find if is spend around 40-50 dollars on cards and group and sell my commons over time i break even or even make money with things like fuwalos.

I started mine in may. Got a binder full of vintage cards, 1st editions cards, ghost rares, quarter century cards and many many more from tins. Also got some graded blue eyes white dragons from 2008 and the kaiba case and lob. Don´t need thousands of dollars. People sell some amazing cards. I got the sdk 1st edition for maybe 20 Euro (Netherlands). Local shops, market places are a good place. Also cardmarket is a nice place online. I bought a booster box of Rage of the Abyss & bonanza quarter century boosterbox. They have a lot of insane and high value cards in it. Have fun collecting 😄

I suggest looking on line for deck listings and staple cards I don't want to be discouraging but this in my opinion is not a good start but I fully support you there are good cards in what you brought but it needs improvement but at the end of the day if you're having fun that is all that matters keep it up I can't wait to see how far you go 😊😊

Also buy if you want to be ost efficient only buy 2 different colored sleeves (1 color for main deck/side in and 1 for extra deck/side in) and I would recomdn getting a play mat with zones for easier learning :). Yooo im glad to see another member join the fold. You should probably try to build millenium Exodia considering you started with yugis legendary decks. Main set to focus on is The Infinite Forbidden.

I would recommend either picking up 3 duel devastator or getting the staples online from TCGplayer or Troll and Toad.

I started in late 2007 using my brother's old Legend of Blue Eyes, yugi/Kaiba evolution cards, ancient sanctuary and Dark Beginnings/Revelation cards until i got thr first 5ds starter deck. Yu-Gi-Oh between 02 and 08 will always be my favourite. I especially love Structure Deck 2 Zombie Madness

Hey mate, yugioh vetran of 20+ years here. (Played competitive, worked in a card shop ect.) Before you spend any more please do not open sealed product if you care about money. I have opened easily over 10k packs personally working and the chance of getting something usable or worth money is next to zero unless you buy a whole case and even then you will hardly get everything you need. Singles are the way to go every time if you want to actually play the game. This hobby is expensive enough just buying the cards you need, if you muddy the water with sealed product you might as well burn your money. Most of these cards will just sit in a box forever not doing anything until you throw them out or sell them as bulk for 2% of what you paid..

I tried joining some discords a couple of years ago to look for some people to play with online and didn't have a great experience sadly. People were really rude and basically bullies me away. No patience for a beginner at all >.< it reminded me of my school days 20 years ago "oh this game isn't for you". Crazy that this is still a reality online in big 2024. I've been slowly collecting some goat/edison cards in real life, and play online once in a blue moon with some close friends, but no real opportunity to actually improve at the game. It sucks :/

The Non Holos with Silver Names are Rares, you got that :). The Holo you pulled out of Metal Raiders is a Super Rare, the lowest Holo Rarity, the same artwork Holofoil with Golden Name is Ultra Rare, Rainbow Silver Name and and perpendicular hatched Holofoil just in the Artwork is Secret Rare. The highest Rarity you can pull atm. are the Quarter Century Secret Rares or shortly called QCR's with that perpendicular Holofoil all over the Card, like your 60 Dollar Rabbit QCR you pulled :). So we have: Common Rare Super Rare Ultra Rare Secret Rare (earlier when Yu-gi-oh! came out those where the only 5 Rarities for years) How you can figure out other High Rarities: Ultimate Rare - Gold Name with textured Holofoil Artwork (sometimes Outlines are textured and holofoiled aswell) (swaying rarity but rarer than Ultra Rare). Collectors Rare - Rainbow Silver Name and has Textures like Fingerprints on the Outlines and in the Artwork (3-4 per 12x Boosterboxes except special Holofoil Card Sets). Starlight Rare - looks almost Similar to a QCR but has Rainbow Silver Name instead of Gold Name and no 25th Anniversary Stamp (1 per 12x Boosterboxes )(not obtainable as long there are QCR's in the Set). Ghost Rare - Rainbow Silver Name with 3D Holofoil Artwork (1 per 12x Boosterboxes except special Holofoil Card Sets). (everything ranked from low-high / low-high value of those rarities) There are even more special Rarities, but that's it for the basics ^^.

Yugioh is really hard to get into. The people at your local card shop are going to be so nice and helpful they’re going to help you a lot don’t be afraid to ask questions. They can help you choose which cards to pick up. Rarity collections 1-4 are really helpful for new players so that’s going to be amazing for you. Just get the minimum rarity for all your staple cards. Don’t worry about not having the 100$ cards. Have fun!

I started collecting cards and playing with my friends since last year. That silhouette rabbit is quarter century rare, 25th mark in the middle bottom of card and worths 90 bucks. Very powerful card. So some packs are core set, which have variety of new cards and some sets are deck building sets. Pack opening is fun but only fun, deck building with opening booster packs are nearly impossible these days so you can buy your favoite cards as singles.
