I'm also trans ftm in Glasgow, really appreciate these videos and the information you provide. I'm currently on a 16 month waiting list for Sandyford and feeling a bit hopeless. Glad to see you got hormones in the end :)

Hi, I'm a 17 years old MtF and I'm currently on the waiting list for YourGP. I've heard that the waiting list is currently around an 8 month wait and I've been on the list for nearly 2 months now. I joined the waiting list through an email where I gave them my name, phone number and date of birth. They then got back to me through email confirming that I have been added. Should I be expecting any phone calls from them at any times BEFORE they call me for booking and paying for an appointment at the top of the waiting list or will they only contact me at that time when it's my turn?

I seen her when she was NHS .. what did you think about Dr Myskow ? i thought she was really nice .
@EthanWilsonUK3 жыл бұрын
I loved how supportive she was and openly receptive to having discussions around my questions and concerns about sorting things. Definitely felt in control of guiding my preferred direction when it came to the like of injection vs gel T for instance. There was never a pressure for one over the other. It felt like we worked together on planning my care.

hi. i have my first appointment at yourgp in 2 weeks, it took 3 or 4 months as dr myskow left. how long did it take inbetween your appointments? i booked the appointment 3 or 4 months ago and i need t desperatly. i live in aberdeen so have to drive down and im in a powerchair and very ill so it will be very hard
@EthanWilsonUK4 жыл бұрын
I was always able to arrange appointments quite quickly. My personal timeframe won't be an accurate reflection as I had a mix of private and NHS supported care happening in tandem that pushed a few months between appointments. If I had gone straight for a private 2nd appointment to see psychiatry - I was offered one within a fortnight of my initial appointment.

Hey man! I know I’m 2 years behind here, but I’ve got a consultation at YourGP in Edinburgh in a few weeks! What was your timescale from appointment 1 to getting T? I know yours was maybe a bit longer because of the bloods! Also, what kind of questions do they ask? Super anxious!
@tayloravery98754 жыл бұрын
Also, I’m not the fittest dude in the world - does weight play a part in starting T?
@EthanWilsonUK4 жыл бұрын
Hey. My first appointment was in the May, my second in September when I had my first shot of T. Between those you need to see a psych for second opinion and have bloods done. The time it all takes depends when appointments are available that you can go to tbh. The first appointment we spoke about my background, medical history, and things around why I felt the way I did that led me to going etc. We also spoke about what my hopes and such were for going forward in transition and what I’d want out of it medically. That kind of thing. Weight and BMI does play a part in things particularly for top surgery but I wasn’t in great shape when I started T. I think my BMI was around 37.

how much was the second consultation (same as first one?) and are hormones reasonably affordable? on a 2 year waiting list for sandyford :\
@EthanWilsonUK5 жыл бұрын
Consultations are a fixed fee depending on length, so it will only vary if it is a 30min or hour one. Can vary slightly depending who the appointment is to see but not by much. Affordability of hormones depends which would be prescribed. Happy to talk more detailed about my experience to help, if you want to message me through my FB page or Instagram.

How much do you pay for your prescription?
@EthanWilsonUK4 жыл бұрын
When I was receiving care privately, I paid approximately £20 for the prescription, for 4 vials of sustanon.

I really am not trying to be offensive but what is the trans definition of "man"?? Because I just define it as "an adult male human" it's just a descriptive term. It's not a comment on someone's character or feelings etc That stuff is just your individual personality, being a woman just means your a female human and a man is just a male human. Just like a stallion is a "male horse".. So what do you define it as? Is it someone that follows masculine gender roles? Or is it literally just anyone that says they are a man?
@jesuitvampirewhoreoncrack75397 жыл бұрын
Twenty Øne Phandøms "man" is an adult male human being.
@jesuitvampirewhoreoncrack75397 жыл бұрын
Twenty Øne Phandøms that's not a definition though, you can't definie a word with itself...
@jesuitvampirewhoreoncrack75397 жыл бұрын
Twenty Øne Phandøms the definition of the word "man" is an adult male human being. . Much like the definition of the word stallion is an adult male horse.. Things like social ideas of masculinity aren't the criteria for being a man they are just social norms... Again I will ask you who you define the word "man"? Because if it's just "anyone who identifys as a man" then you ARE defining the word with itself which I think you realise is ridiculous
@jesuitvampirewhoreoncrack75397 жыл бұрын
Twenty Øne Phandøms it causes you to feel terrible because you wish you were the opposite gender.... You brain isn't male, theres just as much difference between a pre t ftm brain and a male brain as there is between a male and female brain.. If you had a male brain it literally wouldn't even fit in your skull
