Wow, fast changes Theo! I'm 19 almost 20 and I'm worried that I'll end up starting T really late because I only came out at 18, but I know it's silly to compare to other people, especially since my parents were so ignorant about it before (like I technically came out at 13 and several times after that but they said I'd grow out of it, funny cos I had obvious dysphoria from like 4 lmao). I never even thought about the emotional stuff, before I came out I was so depressed, won't go in to detail bcus trauma dumping but basically I relate to what you said about the dampening of emotions, before I came out I was always either having a complete meltdown or just numb. I haven't felt that bad since I came out, the only emotion even close to that feeling is this weird sense of mourning I have for the possible happy, comfortable childhood I could've had (shouldn't dwell on it but I do sometimes). When I cut my hair, it was so overwhelming with the euphoria, it's like I suddenly felt like a person? That day I'd found out that the author of a series I used to love (HP) was transphobic, which was like a kick to the stomach as her books got me through so much as a kid (can't even enjoy it anymore though), but even that couldn't dampen my euphoria when I looked in the mirror. I actually cried happy tears which is embarrassing lol but it was like finally seeing myself. I still have really bad dysphoria but I'm lucky enough to 'pass' just as a younger guy, like the only people who misgender me occasionally are family members who knew me before. I'm so desperate to start T and get top surgery but the waiting lists are so long, I've already been on the waiting list for a year and a bit. I've done so much research in to it since I was about 13, I still have some worries like acne or my singing voice getting bad or something but other trans guys have said if you can sing before you can sing after so that should be alright. Sorry for the long comment, I always end up writing whole ass essays

Normally I don't comment but I start T next month and your progress updates have really been getting me through these past few months. I have a similar problem with my dysphoria where I just completely shut down and don't allow myself to feel things as a defense mechanism because my dysphoria is so bad. I've also noticed my voice dysphoria is getting worse? It's like I'm anticipating being on T so I'm even harder on myself right now. Anyways your videos are really great, your vibes are immaculate, and thank you for the updates :D

No way I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want my first tatoo to be and it's definitely got to be a studio ghibli one! Even drew some designs for studio ghibli tatoos. I'm going to take a stab and say no face or at least some character from spirited away (haku in dragon form, the soot particles or the frog) is what you're going to get lol

my voice drop from first puberty :þ was also super sudden, and it was just a week before the performance of a school theatre production so I had to relearn how to sing in the space of a week. fun :)

I can still *sort of* access my alto range, but it doesn't sound as good and doesn't feel as comfortable with my lower range now, however I haven't been doing much active training so that could also be a contributing factor

So you’ve probably cleared it up by now, but I have RSD and I’m on T and it isn’t triggered as often for me, but when it is, it’s worse than it used to be. It feels more intense and it takes me longer to get over it. I’m also early in my translation, though. Technically, 3 1/2 months but between bloodwork and other stuff my endo said I could up my dose multiple times and I just started my current dose last week. (I’m on compounded T cream so there was some guess work.)

Huh. So your RSD got worse on T? Mine has eased a bit since I started E, but I thought that was just from feeling better about myself - I never considered it could be a hormonal thing that would work in reverse to someone on T. Anyway, I hope you feel better; RSD sucks ass.

With the RSD and meds thing, meds helped me but I did end up coming off them due to some reasons, I won't say just in case bcus I don't want to put anyone off it that's the right thing for them

Novelty is, it's a physical need like hunger or thirst, no need to first have a trigger or fancying someone like before. Your voice! You sound like a dude going through regular male puberty. That's so weird when I'm still more used to your previous voice but also a very cool change. I'm glad the testosterone is working. The emotional changes especially the intense negative ones (and maybe the RSD too) are a part of hormonal changes. This is speaking as a biological male from birth though, I of course cannot speak to any trans-related things.
