I still have a Tomcat!

Nearly two months ago a the start of lock down I shut the Rover Tomcat up in it's garage and Ive not seen it since. Lets hope its still there!

If you put some strings or bars through over the beams, along each long-side of the garage, you can drape a sheet between the strings, beneath the ceiling. Hope that makes some sense.

furiousdriving great cars. I almost had one! In the form of a Honda Civic 5 door 1998. It shared quite a few rover parts I believe, such as the dash clocks and switch gear. Never had an electrical problem with that car, everything worked right up to the day I sold it.

Last autumn I put a roll of breathable membrane (used to put under floor tiles) into my roof to stop condensation. Worked beautifully. I wouldn't use polythene sheet as it still can cause condensation! Great video, we love the Tomcat.

Just checked your Volvo and they have already extended the mot date until october. When they say rescind the 6 month extension I think they mean stop extending it but the ones issued will still be valid. The original law they have brought in was to extend for 6 months from 31st March 20 to 31st march 21 and I think the 6 month extensions are issued on a rolling monthly basis. They can cancel this at their discretion and obvious the motor trade is petitioning for this. I would expect a good one months notice for them to rescind extending them though and it does all depend on the R number and a 2nd wave.

Id expect notice as well, but if its SORNed and in storage that will be agro, so Id rather get it done now while I can shuffle it around easily, and then tax it and drive again

All hail the Tomcat. I find my lock up gets condensation over the winter so the roof drips on the car. I took the lazyman route and stuck a car cover on. Helpfully keeps the dust off too.

Concrete garages are terrible for condensation in winter. I have motorbikes with covers on but they still get wet and moldy under the covers. I've been told lining the walls and roof with plywood is a good solution so might give that a go

If thats your own garage you can get pu foam sprayed to the underside of the roof to insulate it and stop the condensation and dust

Usually I dislike big wheels on cars because they have a negative affect on ride quality but I must admit those AMG 18 inch alloys really suit that Merc. In fact that generation of C-class has aged really well. Still very good looking.

You got this video up quickly! Good luck for the Volvo MOT. Nooooo, don't take the Volvo off the road 😭😭😭 I've got my Golf booked in on the 5th of June for it's timing belt change (water pump, tensioners, aux belt, tensioners for that, A/C regas, gearbox mount) and other stuff - I can't remember because there was quite a list at a VAG specialist in Maidstone. Haven't used them before, but they have great reviews online and thought I would for the timing belt due to the significance of the job. It won't be cheap, but I've expected this and it's due.

Suppose if you switch the Volvo for the MINI you can leave the Volvo at home, so can still do the repair work to the seat and leave it parked up while you go shopping for your list, rather than put it in the garage and effectively forget about it...

Never leave the handbrake on when you park up for any amount of time ! Leave it in gear , saves many problems later👍

It had a broken starter so didnt have an MOT before the scheme started (one of the requirements) so it was left in a yard for 3 years and avoided being crushed
