I've always thought it strange that after the christocentric lyrics of the last verse, the chorus remains the same rather than being something like, "no I've finally found what I've been looking for." To end the song in despair seems like Christ is yet another empty promise leaving us searching.

I hear you, but it really depends on how you look at it Ed. To us, it's more appropriate to keep the chorus as it's written, because even though we've tasted goodness and beauty, true life in and through Jesus, we've not arrived yet, that is, we are not perfect - and we've not experienced perfection. I think Paul would agree in Philippians 1:23 and 1 Corinthians 13:12; we see dimly, as in a mirror. One day we shall we face to face. That is arguably what we're all looking for, to be with God, unhindered.

The instrumentation was great and I believe the singer has a lot of potential. However it saddens me to see a great vocalist(s) hiding behind a high level of pitch correction:/ This piece will invoke a much stronger emotion if the pitch correction speed is slowed sown and also lets more natural errors through the net. Overall, this looks like this video was professionally made! Good job!

Lovely version. Kudos to Sarah Groves etc but.......I've got to ask......how can you say "I still haven't found..." after that last extra verse which points to the One everyone is looking for (whether they know it or not). THAT is the disappointment for me. He IS the one we are looking for. If you have not found him, then keep singing about not finding, by all means...... It seems a wasted opportunity to have pointed to what U2 could not.

I appreciate that question. We can still say "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" because we, indeed all creation (see Romans 8:22), groan for all things to be made new by Jesus. We long for the new heavens and the new earth when God will dwell with his people. See Revelation 21-22!
