I agree with you that the model seems like it can solve some of the typical aches of onboarding and lots of timing issues with the client. But 'no meetings' seems like a stretch on some of the more detail oriented projects. Would love to hear more about the onboarding process and your progress. Keep killing it man

Thanks for sharing, Harry! Great to see someone’s journey with this from scratch. Do you think this is viable for people who only offer web development services and no design? I initially thought that was what you were offering because of the youtube title (webflow agency) but when I viewed the website, it included designs. Thanks
@HarryRoperMckay Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the lovely comment ! This is pretty much doable for any service based industry. I've seen lawyers in the US for example do monthly sub options now. In your case you could very well adapt this model to development. Perhaps you could offer unlimited development and target creative agencies who have overflow design work they need made into websites? You could undercut the market and charge $2,000/m easily !

Do you get your clients to sign up for webflow so you can hand off your builds? Or do you pay for a new account for every client and keep the website in your possession?
@HarryRoperMckay Жыл бұрын
A mix dependant on the clients requirements. Sometimes it goes to their account and sometimes we'll keep it in ours. Nowadays though I push for the first option so that the client has full control and can pay for their webflow hosting themselves!

@@HarryRoperMckay Thanks, appreciate the help. I have one more question: are you having to set up your clients CRM & zapier etc for them? Or do you find they already have those systems on place for the most part? I know some agencies like using white label software to provide that to their clients but everything has it's pros and cons.

I'm kinda lost on this a bit. Suppose the site takes only 1 month to fully complete, instead of getting $5000, you get only $1000 for that month. The client can easily cancel the subscription on the second month.
@HarryRoperMckay Жыл бұрын
That is correct! However all sites I create take longer than a month due to complexity. The idea is to get the sub-price up to $2,500/m. $1,000 is just to start it off! :)

Pretty cool but dont really understand why youre charging $1500 a month thats like 18k a year and targets people that cant hire full-time employees. 4k a month would make more sense and be 50% off the average annual salary.
@HarryRoperMckay Жыл бұрын
Great points ! This actually compounds the more clients you take on so its more than doable to hit 5k/m with this model. I made an update video here that details this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qICTmmqpfNybebc

Hi Faizan, In the UK you can earn up to 11k I think before you need to setup anything official. But you can also just go on companies house and pay the fee to setup a LTD company. Design Joy was exposed recently for being a fraud. Lots of unhappy clients, below par quality, things never getting done. Claiming to be a one man operation is what made most question the viability of his model. The model itself can work but he got greedy and then started flexing on Twitter all while his clients were getting fleeced.
@HarryRoperMckay2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing Tony. I wasn't aware of this! We've taken a lot of the great things Brett has done in his model but are trying to build it to scale rather than solo. I agree that offering this model as a solo entrepreneur is mind-boggling and I for one do not want to sign up for that kind of stress. :)

He's offered a great model for how to structure a design business, but he's greedy. If you're pulling in over a million a year, you can hire 2 of the best designers in the world for 100k a year and barely feel it in your pockets. He just bought a 100k Porsche, that's 2 mid designers or one amazing designer. I think this model is great for designers, but take the good parts and learn from his selfish approach on what not to do when implementing it.

Hi, Harry! So we've become competitors ;) I run the same model with Webflow development! Productized Services are fantastic. I assume the video emails were no good? If I can advise "my competitor" - invest a bit more in your website, so that average "Joe" likes it - now it seems it's appealing to techy crowd only - you'll be talking a lot with marketing folk, rather than techies! Good luck!

Hey Bart! That's great to hear. How is the model going for you? Video emails actually went okay we got some positive responses. However pivoting took me away from that project but we're now back to sending cold emails at about 1000/week. I'll keep you updated on how that goes. I hope we can be friends rather than competitors! :D But I appreciate your advice. I'll take a look at the design and see what can be refined. Do you have a link to your site? - H
