You totally did the right thing with the owners of that LP. Being a good person, or trying to be, sometimes comes at a personal cost. If you have a conscience though, that's just the price of doing business sometimes. I was already under the impression that you were a decent person, but this is proof of how well meaning you are. My personal respect for you just shot up considerably. Also, I still appreciate you turning me on to Band-Maid with your Flappy Pidgeon review a while back. Cheers Trogly!

I've always found it ridiculous that an older guitar costs more than a new one just because it's vintage; it makes no sense. When I started playing guitar, there were far fewer options than there are now. Today, we can make excellent quality guitars in Indonesia, Mexico, or South Korea that are good enough even for professionals. I don't understand how there can be such a demand for something that's been used and has chipped or slightly worn paint. I think most guitarist are more collectors and vendors than really players , probably the explanation
@Arthagnou2 ай бұрын
you are thinking of it wrong. perspective 1) a 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO had 275 hp and tiny breaks and was a little floppy, how much do those go for? 2) another way, there are better weapons but the real sword from the Arnold Schwarzeneggers "Conan the Barbarian" how much would that sell for? 3) James Deans 1955 Porsche Spyder, how much would that (or one like that ) sell for? There are better cars better weapons, but people want to know what it was like to drive those things, wield those weapons. You are getting not just sound but an experience, to know why those things are Legendary. Why do you go on vacation to exotic places? You want to experience living in that place for awhile.

I have a question about pickups. I know PAF stickers end in 61/62 then you have patent number stickers until 1975 followed by engraved patent number base. Did Gibson ever reissue a pickup that had a patent number sticker on it? I just bought a pickup for $50 online that has a Patent Number sticker that DCR is 6.37 ohms which sounds low and it was called "vintage chrome humbucker". Did they make some sort of reissue or is this for sure a 1962-75 pickup? I know if it has T-Top bobbins under the cover that is 65' to 75 and before that they were basically just a PAF with a Patent # sticker. Does anyone know? I ask because I have seen on Burst Buckers and Custombuckers they have a repro PAF sticker. I think I just scored if it is between 62 and 65 it is essentially a PAF right?

The "original" Fender Starcaster was a semi-hollow body model with f-holes made from around 1975 to 1979. It had a three bolt neck with the serial number engraved on the neck plate, Fender wide range humbuckers and 5 control knobs.
