It is "rest". Resting in God is total surrender. It is awesome and once you understand and relinquish control, everything falls into it's rightful place. It took many, many years for me to understand this even after being saved for over 30 years. God spoke to me in 2018 "Be still and know that I am God". 20+ years before that, a preacher came up to me and said God wants you to know that He is in control, not you. He gave us free will and will not encroach it but loves us so much He never will give up on you. He loves you more than we can understand. Thank you Jesus, I love you too!

@@FlowLikeWater429 If you believe that Jesus died for you and have accepted him as your Lord and Savior, you are forgiven. There is no need to seek out forgiveness, It happens immediately because over 2000 years ago he died for the sins we commit and have committed. We all continue to sin and fall short, so continue to ask for forgiveness AND forgive those who hurt you or do you wrong. Repent means to turn around. A 180 degree turn around from your old self. The Holy Spirit makes this possible and it is a process. I am happy you are asking Holy Spirit to live inside you. Seek the Lord with all your heart. The point of Christianity is that very thing that we are the problem, or more accurately, the problem is our hearts. Our heart isn't good. Get to know the bible before praying because you don't even know who you're praying to or if you're understanding of God/Jesus is correct. The bible actually promises that if you put your faith in Jesus alone for salvation and trust Him instead of yourself with your life, He will change your heart to love what He loves. You won't love yourself and your heart won't want to be self-serving, but you'll actually want to glorify God and serve others. Will you make mistakes? Yes. But the desire of your heart will no longer be for yourself to succeed in all the previous ways you thought you needed. This truly starts though with acknowledging your heart and your sin ARE the problem and that you and your sin are not worth trusting in and that you've offended God, who indeed cares very much about your affairs and wants you to do good.

This resonated with me so much! Since January I have been a wreck. My wife left and recently filed for divorce, financial issues, relationship issues etc. Since January I have recommitted myself to Christ. I study my Bible every day, pray multiple times a day, speak to God almost nonstop and journal. God has brought me closer to Him but my circumstances haven’t changed. When you mentioned “His yoke is easy and His burden is light” my jaw dropped. I have questioned God numerous times about this because my burdens haven’t changed. I know that it’s something within me that’s preventing me from receiving the peace that He so freely gives and desires me to have. Just this week I decided that maybe I need to “back off” from praying about my problems and let God work. It does feel counterintuitive to not pray for what is on my heart but “living” in prayer for God’s intervention has brought me to exhaustion and sometimes questioning if God really cares. It’s so hard to let go of fear when life has fallen apart. God bless.

@lucaspoon4202Ай бұрын
So what's that look like? Is this causing you to grow in righteousness? Dunno if this is what you're addressing, but its ofc true that working for God doesn't give you salvation etc. Working for God doesn't NEED to even gain you anything, but it does because God is gracious that way and chooses to do that (Romans 8:28). He does indeed work through you, but do you think this means God cant accomplish His will without you and that He's fortunate to Have you? Or that He's fortunate to be on YOUR team having YOUR back? At the end of Romans 10:28 when it says "according to His purpose", is His purpose for you to not work for Him but just sit there and receive blessings? If this is what you think then He's not working through you, making you Holy, or modeling your character after Christ. Christ worked VERY HARD for the Father. He did everything including dying, and we know He did it for the Father because He prayed that the Fathers will be done and not His own (Matthew 26:39). Also look at Matthew 25:19-23 where Jesus gives a parable illustrating that we are servants and that we should work with the skills and circumstances we have, grow from it and learn, then God gives us more work in His kingdom - more trust according to his purpose. We are meant to be farmers/workers on HIS ranch serving HIS kingdom to the capacity of what He has entrusted each of us. God is not some self improvement deal or free blessing dispenser - that's not love. Hope this causes you to think about whether your thinking is really in obedience to God or not or a correct understanding of Him at all.

As Christians, our path is not meant to be easy. We don’t walk the broad path because we are not of this world. But to endure in the test of time to build strength and stillness. First time viewer... I resonated with every word. Angry, weary exhausted etc...I spoke it out loud yesterday with the Lord I too was surprised at the anger part... I felt that deep within. I repeated to the Lord the truth...I am angry, sad and exhausted. I said I know it must be my lack of understanding. But I've prayed for that, yet still nothing. I think I silently let go during that conversation. Then today just taking thoughts captive (not today) and resting. Now I can rest purposefully and allow love. I spoke about love for years with the Lord always saying my receiver must be broken? I do know I am loved. I have experienced but few and far between. Feeling battle warn and done. I look at it as a good thing as we come to the end of ourselves this is where God begins. "Rest in my love" Thank you for sharing it gave me the resolution to stop, be still, receive his love and rest in knowing he has all the solutions. Most importantly to receive his love. @@leemalaulauI've also thought on this scripture for years...Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief........ When you labor in the Word of God to gain an understanding of God's promises and become rooted in them, it provides rest for your soul. To labor means to work, great effort, toiling or grind away. I pray that we all work or toil to enter into this rest that remaineth for the people of God. The biblical meaning of unbelief is refusing to believe in God and take at His Word. Unbelief is a lack of faith... or a work in progress I say. Plus we know what our wrestle is... Help with our unbelief I pray! The Lord knows we are growing and growing and there is therefore, no condemnation... he knows I've personally sought on this subject for a very long time. So, I guess this is the labor part... the years that led up to grasping. Which alone is amazing. That One scripture can give one so much! I'm sure I'll be unpacking this for a season! But it is purposed in my heart now. Thank you again as this ties into the rest nicely and thinking on the word labor I knew it was a chore or decision for me at this point? We either take him at his Word or wrestle until we do? I always wondered why we had to labor for rest. It is a scripture that I have contended with, pondered, strived for and finally think I understand the how to enter. There is such a simplicity that I've understood in his Word. But to get to that point it can be a journey for sure! I think of how God created worked then rested on the 7 th day. So many scriptures come to mind. Again blessings to you and yours!

The spirit of asking is different than receiving. Usually when we let go and allow that rest solutions come. Amen!!! I’ve been asking the Lord recently what does the freedom that we were set for look like? Surrender. Be still. Receive. Ask for heaven’s perspective. If I could add one thing more, remember that worship is our warfare!!! “Praise is an open door, to an open heaven!” ❤❤❤

I love this - especially the part about receiving God's love. The way you frame this explanation reminds me that we are sons and daughters of God - and He wants that relationship with us. When I first came to know God, I had a rare experience of hearing His voice audibly and He said: "you don't know how to receive". I was so confused by what He meant and it took me years to really get to the bottom of it. I just didn't know how to rest in Him, allow Him to work on my behalf and not to strive to death. I think that this is SUCH a neglected part of the Christian life, especially for type-A, entrepreneurial types who rely way too heavily on their own strength. Thank you for this - I will be doing this for sure!

I have a testimony that I don't think anyone would believe and Christ Jesus did it all for my sanctification , my salvation and my lesson in life. I'm single 57yr old Christian women that believes in self reflection, and gave it all, surrendered it all to Jesus Christ.,🙏 I year ago after my step in faith in the Lord to direct and guide my path. Yes, great message. I also learned that it does no good to bombard God with words. it’s better to act as though he doesn’t even understand English. Sometimes we need to fast to turn the mind off. This will give us a feel for things that are already happening in the spiritual world in our favor.

Constantly asking for the same thing over and over is not the best way to pray since GOD heard the first time. He is working behind the scenes and He will fix your problems when everything will fall into place. We have to be patient. However saying thanks and giving our problems to GOD everyday is a must.

I know there is rest to be had, I just haven’t known quite how to tap into in when I’m in the high stakes situations that I am often in during this season of my life.

It is amazing to me how many Christians feel they have no obligation to do their part in their health (for example) They are working hard to "claim their healing." All the while stuffing their face with junk food and being too lazy to exercise. I know, because that was me. When I realized God could not bless my lifestyle, I repented. It was a long road back to health as I learned what changes needed to happen.
@andrewwashere82Ай бұрын
So how has God blessed your new lifestyle in a way that is clearly from Him and not a result from making good choices?
@JaneDough-i2cАй бұрын
@@andrewwashere82 Well, I thought you described the process beautifully. No matter what problems a Christian finds themselves in. For me, it immediately put me in a place of peace. Constantly "looking for my miracle" with my health was a never ending cycle of trying to have enough faith. Paul said that others see the way we live, and move and have our being. I was overweight, eating Little Debbie's by the box, hurting and crying, and barely moving because I was totally trashing my "temple". He showed me how he gave us a health manual called the Bible. I could write a book explaining how following His leading has changed me physically, and spiritually. Healed relationships, and taught me to have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying. I will ever be growing in knowledge and it is fun. BTW, I lost weight, the walker is a faded memory, I'm not sitting in a recliner crying from joint pain. We truly are fearfully and wonderfully made. My first step was to throw away the junk food and then see what my Father has instructed to be my part. I hope that makes sense. It is hard to say how my whole life has changed in a few sentences.

@J.A.Madventures Yea, that still sounds like I'm in control, but crediting God because religion tells me to. What about other ppl making good choices and seeing fruit but are crediting the God of their faith? These are the kind of questions that caused me to stumble on top of other stuff.

God gave us three gifts: intelligence, compassion, and free will. His son reminded us that of these, the greatest is compassion. He doesn’t intervene directly, but we are guided to use our intelligence and practice compassion when exercising our free will.

I'm really glad to see a less common (but the correct) perspective about fighting to defend an already won victory, rather than fighting to win a victory. praise the Lord that in Christ we are overwhelmingly victorious in this current life. as believers in Christ we TELL our problems about Jesus rather try to tell God about our problems. praise the Lord that we have all the power and tools under our authority through the Spirit to overcome and find divine peace and joy in every circumstance in life. to declare that takes faith and it honours God. amen

This is true, i know there are things that you simply can't control or fix but I've realized that we run to God for so many trivial things. I mean we we're made to be capable, just doubting yourself is already an insult to a being who designed you to be capable of almost anything. Who blessed you with another day to be great, be good and reach your full potential. He is too good for us we do not deserve him at all. 😢😢

Thanks Lee, a great reminder to hold our situations lightly and trust that God’s plans for us are even greater than we can imagine for ourselves. I know that when my children set their minds on something that I’m actively looking for even better things for them. This is the Father’s heart, to bless His children beyond what they are even seeking. Patience, faith and trust are required but once you’ve experienced the outcomes repeatedly you tend to default into this mode of being. 😊
