Whoops, I think I half mentioned about my upcoming photography tour with Ian in the Lake District (I was supposed to cut that out!). Anyway, the tour is available to book now here if you are interested: www.henryturnerphotography.co.uk/photography-tours/p/lake-district-photography-tour. I'll probably talk a bit more about it in an upcoming video! Also, my brand new prints page is now up and running on my website here: www.henryturnerphotography.co.uk/lake-district-photography-prints Thanks a lot for watching and, as always, thank you so much for all your support 👍🏻🙏🏼

As a midwesterner from the States, I am happy to be part of the "yous lot" that watches your videos to the end! I love the adventures you take us on, and the lovely photos you share. Also, you are wise to be cautious around cows! I was attacked by a dairy cow and it was no joke! She hated people, and I was new at the dairy so she singled me out. Lifted me off the ground, like a bull. The day she charged the herd manager was her last day at the farm. Most cows are nice, but always be wary!

A friend was helping his dad guide some cattle through a loading ramp / chute onto a truck. One didn't want to get on the truck and charged his dad, who promptly picked up a section of pine 2x4 and broke it over the cow's face. The cow stepped back, shook her head (with blood pouring of our her nose) and then decided it was a better idea to peacefully get on the truck. His dad said, "Sometimes you have to get their attention." LOL

How can you not watch your videos to the end ???????? I mean just look at it, stunning landscape, beautiful light, 4 seasons in a day and on top of that a mad photographer running around like a crackpot !! Perfect 👍.

Whilst landscape is not my genre of main pursuit, it doesn’t stop me from enjoying it through the eyes of others. Your channel Henry as always offers an energetic outlook on your adventures out, I see places I don’t see myself, live vicariously through your eyes and lens and I enjoy listening to your discussions too.

Had to pause as it is waaay past bedtime. A couple of thoughts on Landscapers being predominately retired males. Males are more into gear, women are generally happy with phone shots. Retired people have substantially more time for photography. I've been into landscape photography since I was in my 20s but was too busy. Now that I'm retired I can spend a lot more time on photography. Generalisations, obviously. 😉

Henry don't worry about the cows, just walk confidently like you would amongst people in the street. Everyone subtly gets out of everyone else's way by weaving about. Only if the cattle are milling around in a bunch in a tight area do you need to skirt around them in case they bump into you. Easy for me to say because I was brought up on a farm. I think you can still prioritise composition if shooting monochrome. But what you've got here is beautiful soft golden hour dappled light without harsh contrast, and then the light really is the composition. Love your photos and envy you getting that sort of treat in the sensible-sized Lakeland landscape.

Photography is the art of capturing light. Lots of familiar places in this video. I was raised on a farm, milked cows from aged ten - Knowing the breeds will help you out - Top Tip: never enter a field with a Jersey Bull. Avoid some of the frisky looking beef steers - only had trouble once as 'A Cow Whisperer' and that was walking by Dunstanburgh Castle in Northumberland. A 100% dangerous bullock.

Hi Henry, thanks for another grand day out. Once you'd got through the bovine congestion, I have to say that's got to be one of the most "composition rich" areas you've explored in your videos. As ever photography is the intersection of light, subject and composition .. and varying just one can make such a difference .. not necessarily better or worse, but different. This one was a real joy to watch ... and thanks for another year of grand days out before everyone starts with the Xmas messages ;-)

Seeing you rush to get that first image reminds me of a time I was driving north on the Million Dollar Highway in the San Juan mountains of Colorado. It was cloudy and as I rounded a curve I saw the most gorgeous composition on a large peak with dappled sunlight across it. I immediately got on the brakes and pulled over as quick as I could, jumped out of the car and started shooting. I only got two or three images and the light was gone. Turned out to be the best photo of the entire trip.
