Hi Ed, nice finds and lots of them. The Royal Engineers insignia is a collar dog. On WW2 battledress would be the regiment identifiers usually worn on the shoulders, made of cloth and coloured to identify whether they were attatched to the infantry, cavalry/ tank regiments or support regiments. Hope this helps 👍👍 25:45 25:45

Hi Ed! Great to see you back mate, hope you’re safe & well. You had a good time on that new spot….a button & bullet day but the ring was very cool! Loved the montage of other finds at the end too, some really interesting pieces! I’m case you weren’t aware I am now the proud recipient of the clicker from Gareth!! Hoping to have a full days digging soon so I can rack it up!! Take care mate!

Cheers mate, the fields are looking like it might be an early harvest so I am itching to get on some historic fields! Good luck with the clicker, I hope it doesn't curse your dig like it did for Gareth 😂😂🤞

Just an idea but, I was told that if you spray 'Skin so soft' oil from Avon all over yourself you won't get bitten. I tried it recently and it actually worked. You will smell like a flower but it's better than the itching 😁 x
@VintageParagonUk Жыл бұрын
@@amandabell8827 Yessss I do have that in my bag usually but forgot it as they usually don't keep up with me when detecting, I forgot how much they bite when in a damp dark hole 😂 but that stuff is great and makes me smell fresh 😬👍

Nice video again buddy. 👍 I thought that was one of my perms at first... hay pasture, and full of ordinance. The ring's nice, despite the low gold content. Maybe it was a wedding band from a cheapskate thrown away in disgust! 🤣
@VintageParagonUk Жыл бұрын
Cheers Brad, probably not too far from you though 😂 if only it was as bountiful as your perm! I think it was a bit of a discount ring that's for sure 😂👍

@@VintageParagonUk🎶with my silver Buddha / and my silver bullet...🎶 That one was so shiny (and eeeerie)! I loved the obvious cool finds -- that lovely copper (?) thingie w the unicorn, the smoov button and the cap badge, but I also liked the odd propeller thing and the lid with the tiny hole in the rim (could make a great pendant?)! Could you read the inside of the ring at all? And, of course, where's your hat 🤠? lol - Wu Tang indeed! 🤣

Wow!!😲 The ring cleaned up amazingly well. Was it gold plated? 🤔 I always have a good time detecting along with you, Ed. I really enjoy your style. 😍🥰 The cap badges were super finds. 😁 How do you "dispose" of the ammo? Did you find out anything about the silver-tipped one? I often have a lot of questions, but I don't want to be a bother. 😇😉 I hope all's well with you. See you next time. 😊😘🤗💖👍👋
@VintageParagonUk Жыл бұрын
Hey Noralee, how's it going?? I always enjoy your questions 😊 I think the ring was about 40% gold with a copper core with really thick plating around it, skimping on the gold I suppose 😂 the bullets I just dig a deep hole somewhere out the way and re bury them. They Will be safe there. I don't think it was a silver bullet but still not completely sure what it was 😂 next week I try to find some bottles 😬 you will have to wait to see what there is 😁👍
@shannahenk1655 Жыл бұрын
I hope you get to dig in the gravel pit/dump. I was just going to ask if had any leads on any dumps you could dig. People shouldn't be allowed to lose fake gold rings. It's too disappointing when you realize they aren't real. For most people, a Roman coin would make their video. Ed: Yeah, I've got some spare Roman finds so I'll just throw them at the end of this other video. 😂
@VintageParagonUk Жыл бұрын
Maybe someone found out the partner was a cheap skate and threw the ring away in disgust 😂😂 I do love those roman finds 😂

What a wonderful day! Some fantastic finds there. My Grandpa was in the Royal Engineer's. If those shotty caps are really bothering you, would you consider rejecting their target?
@VintageParagonUk Жыл бұрын
Wow nice! I would love to not dig the shotties but they all sound so different and in the same sort of signal as the good stuff so I wouldn't want to miss something amazing 😁
