A neighbour's new 1456 was one of the first "big" tractors I operated. After that, I spent many years running: 1066, 1466, 1468, 1486, 4166, 3588, 3788 and so on, before we moved to high hp 4WDs. That first few hours in the 1456 stuck. Still remembered as if it was only a short time back. They were great machines, so you scored a winner! And that gold demo paint! Extra points for a rare variant of the 1456!
@jasondrinovsky796210 ай бұрын
I never understood why people painted the Gold Demos red. They were unique in their gold clothes. Absolutely awesome! I love the 1456 anyway, and when they're a gold demonstrator they're priceless.

Awesome find. As far as the paint if you want it gold you will probably have to strip it and paint it. The 2nd coat of red paint looks like you might get it off, but the 1st coat looks like it is bonded pretty well. Sanding will probably burn through the gold paint. That's a neat old tractor, just a shame someone cut the axles off.

You have gotten your dream tractor and the orbital pump started working on the steering after the clean oil came in after frantic turning on the steering. Everything is great except the rear axels which were cut off with a torch so as to be easier to feed cattle. I like the colors better as they are except for new paint. I would be willing to bet the air con still works. Haven't really heard of the Plainsman air con but if she works it's good.

@turbodiesel4709 Wow! You don't have to get your panties in a wad just because you "think" you know something. I grew up farming, and have stuck with it all my life. There have probably been more after market options installed on equipment than there ever has been factory ones, and many even installed by the equipments dealer or even offered through the original equipment manufacturer.
