I think luck accounts for 70% of the ingredients to become rich and stay rich. Lots of people are doing the 5 things you are mentioning but only a small percentage of those people actually become rich and stay rich. I am a self-made multi-millionaire. I am in my 50's looking back this is what I concluded. The family I have, the environment I was raised, six car accidents I had without injuries. All those risks I took and investments I did mostly turn out to be winners. I can't be where I am today if luck were not a big part of it. I think this way make me humbler, and I don't take unnecessary risks. I try to minimize risk wherever I can. I think if you have a chance, you can ask the millionaires and billionaires if luck is part of their success.

There’s a basketball adage: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” A lot of successful people mention luck, but discount the fact that they took action in the first place, often repeatedly or consistently. The majority of people don’t even take the shot.

Luck is being prepared when an opportunity arises. So if one doesn't work hard to gain knowledge, experience, & skills, even if a great opportunity comes around you will never be able to take advantage. So I think you make you own luck by looking for those opportunities and doing the things I mentioned above. Also, it's common knowledge that the average millionaire has average intelligence (as in IQ). It's not IQ that's important but EQ emotional intelligence which has more to do with being successful (wealthy, great relationships, spiritually, health, diet etc). I know this seeing the people around me and from my own experience

What rich and wise people want you to think is not what really is. Buffett is ruthless and decisive in business. But he chose to create a public image that won't offend or stir up envy by anyone. The ego wants to show off and that invites danger. Buffett probably lives to 99 like Charlie. Many of those who claim to know that health is wealth die in their 70s.

He wanted to prove that Chinese people could do more than own laundries and Chinese restaurants, he explained many years later. So he left a cushy job as a professor to capitalize on his inventions, building a company--Wang Labs--that would revolutionize the industry and create a personal fortune worth hundreds of millions. Here’s some bottom-line shit for ya. If you want to do something exciting and/or important for people or the world, you’re not going to get rich. The ONE GUY that pulled that off is Elon Musk. The rest of us, it’s all got to come from straight-up selfish interest or else forget it. I’m talking about real, F U money…10’s of millions to billions. If you’re a pilot, astronaut, law enforcement, teacher/professor, nurse, scientist…you get it - You’ll never be rich and one day, you’ll have to retire and live the rest of your life is relative destitution, without purpose, cause or any future. The way 99% of people get rich is to be in a business or endeavor that is taking money from people that have no choice or screws people out of their money, ie., banker, hedge fund manager, stock brokers, politicians, lawyers, large corporate CEO’s/board members, anything on Wall Street or tangent to it…oh and the people that sell you hollow dreams for their own fame and wealth.
