I feel that your strength is teaching. You've proven it in the financial realm and could continue in that direction. You could also educate us on anything else that interests you. For example, I believe your own version of "the law of attraction" would be welcomed.

Great advice Rose! I really like the way you illustrate the crossover point. I guess you could say the crossover point is when you reach your fire number. For myself and probably many others who don't necessarily like their 9-5 jobs, the crossover point is what keeps me focused and motivated. I think about the old Johnny Paycheck song, "Take this job and shove it".

BUDGETINGGGGGG for beginners plz… I’ve never been good at this or found a method that works for me. My income is not high so I often get discouraged too, so something like this would be greatly appreciated!

All you do is find out all your expenses and goals, then categorize each expense and goal, then set appropriate amounts for each (and savings) you can do this through specific amounts or percentages (which makes the amount increase and decrease with your income)

Five point checklist: 1:00 Is your net worth moving in the right direction? Net worth = assets minus liabilities. 3:53 Are you beyond the Crossover Point, where investment income exceeds living expenses? 7:45 Does the way I spend money reflect what’s important to me? 8:42 Are you prepared for almost anything? 12:57 Can you talk openly about money?

I reached that cross point at 41 or 42. It felt great. But then I was bored out of my mind so I took a job as an actor to keep myself busy during the day. I would have been better off starting a small business. Which, later I did. No matter how rich you are and how many assets you have one still needs a reason to awake in the morning.

The envelope system is the only thing that worked for me. This way I have to actually budget for something if I want to buy it. Also paying your self first was key for me. We all work so hard, we totally deserve to save some before start paying bills and spending for variables.

All solid points. What I also believe which is less understood is that you attract what you give energy to and money is no exception. You have to exude positive energy to get positive results. Thinking about a empty bank account won't attract money but thinking about having money so you can help others in need is powerful catalyst when done properly. I've experienced it firsthand in my life and although I don't currently have millions of dollars in a account somewhere I do have more than enough and no lack in my life. THAT is wealth vs riches which is just an amount.
@cliffdariff74

I would say the first crossover point is when you get out of any credit card debt, except for a mortgage. Then just think long term when investing. don't buy liabilities, buy assets.. then you can reach the new FU cross over points that's all. Regular expenses are called "Fixed Expenses" (regular monthly payments).

Rose…remember last year when we got scammed by people impersonating you? As you know, we are an older couple, and we got scammed out of our entire their life savings. What I don’t get is, Rose, you KNEW it was going on and did nothing. It was a very elaborate con, so we put it all on rosehanscam for all to see- It’s very sad that you didn’t do a thing to protect us all. Why didn’t you take responsibility? Rose…why? You were kind at first, but then you got defensive once you saw that it was truly your fault for not letting everyone know…and then you ghosted us.

My Girl Rose, you knocked it out of the park again! I am an older guy (60) with younger kids, (18, 15, 6) a financial planner at one time (Series 7, 66, Variable Ins) and I always discuss money in little bites with them and try to lead by example. Your video here, however, is like THE roadmap for these younger people who STILL get zero training about money in school. I think you are the perfect age to lead a whole generation into financial literacy as well as ENJOYING the process of building equity. You have the road map, and they can see through your interesting life, that the proper use and harnessing of money can bring you freedom and with a little luck, happiness! My Dad always told me, "work hard for your money and make your money work hard for you". You really have a teaching gift. Brains and beauty too. I always enjoy your videos!

If your kids have great jobs and no under or unemployments they always have a chance. I think for the majority income is the most important wealth building tool!!!!! Behavior almost always is a distant second!!
@Rhinozzzz
@Rhinozzzz 2 жыл бұрын
@@donaldlyons17 I think Rose's point is that it is WHAT they do with that income that counts. She makes the case with the $50,000 income that has equity in their home in her video...... And I agree. You see too many people with a car payment higher than their RENT, a recipe for eventual disaster. So many people have spent their entire paycheck, BEFORE they receive it.

I’m so happy that you mentioned YNAB! I’ve been a long-time user of the app (fell out of it a couple of times). But they make budgeting easy to understand through the 4 Rules. There is a little bit of learning curve at first, but it will all make sense. Really recommend this app - I now know all my numbers and can spend my “fun fund” with no guilt whatsoever 😄

Great advice, I did not learn this until my mid 30s, now I am doing very well. I am saving for challenging times and the future. How about those I-bonds (inflation bonds currently 9.25%)? Currently safer than the stock market, looking at purchasing $833 a month to use as future cash. As for car repair, I have an unlimited milage and lifetime powertrain warranty from Mopar on my Jeep, which costs me $2K after market.
