I'm almost there, but whenever I've tried the entire day to be myself, witty, loud, unapologetic, bold, taunting and stuff, at the end of the day when I'm in bed, everything starts flowing, making me feel too small and like where am i aiming to go with all this, after pushing everyone, acting against everyone, being myself, how will i pave my way out in real world with people and relationships that i know, if i don't get approvals. Because in real world, and with close relationships, there's a lot you need to think and act accordingly about, else you'll be ostracized in some way or hurt someone badly in the process of finding your way. But everyone at some point in their life needs connection so getting that validation becomes important. (Ex: your parents almost everyday taunting you that you're not doing good enough for them. Others trying to pull you to places and then when you don't show up according to their plan, they get pissed for life. Others when you behave some kind of a way that person didn't think you would, they become scared or disappointed.)

Hello Julien: Jesus Christ paid the fine on the cross for your sins and desires a personal relationship with you. But you must repent of your sin and ask God to be your Lord & Savior. By repenting, I mean not living a sinful, wordly lifestyle but instead living according to God's Word.

Living in a self imposed prison distorts reality. What happens when billions of people are distorting reality by living as false selves? Suffering. It's all gaslighting, undercurrents of confusion, distrust, insecurity.. chipping away at our confidence, belittling our existence. Being a genuinely sovereign, free individual is the greatest gift one can give to themselves and to the world. It's worth striving for every moment of every day for the rest of my life. Thank you for the reminder, Julien.

I had a traumatic event by which I couldn't scream for help, and coupled with being an obedient little girl who was not allowed to be a child, and especially not allowed to be heard in any way, as the adult I had my first scream in my 30s. The loudness hurt my own ears, but the release of pent up energy that was released was just so awesome. Left me exhausted but I felt so empowered to have allowed myself to scream my heart out for a good 10 mins which brought me to tears of happiness and joy. No longer afraid to say what I feel , but still have a long way to go before I am comfortable in my own skin. Im still learning what is blocking me at 58 years of age. The 5th person I know there is really cool and I secretly thought I'd just bother her and probably was secretly annoyed with me. Well, I made sure to strike up a conversation with all 5 friends and the one I thought probably didn't like me gave me a big hug and we had a really nice conversation. No self help person has ever helped me come out of my shell like that before. I'm trying really hard to feel relaxed and let go of my fear rather than push through it.

What’s the difference between being embarrassed to do something vs having self-respect, dignity… where do you draw the line. How do you distinguish a personal boundary vs fear/embarrassment to do something? Why not chalk anything up to “just a bit of fun” and have zero dignity?
@mykalhoustonАй бұрын
The underlying fear is that we think were going to die if we get rejected, negatively judged, mocked/laughed at, etc. So when Julien says face fears bluff it’s because you need to let the body discharge all the pent up energy that you are resisting to release Aka Letting go, and to prove to yourself that you’re actually safe and didn’t die by triggering these suppressed aspects of yourself or supposedly “fears” we have. 🤯

Which is why it’s easier when they drink alcohol to do that. Most peoples heart doesn’t pound so fast it feels like it’s going to explode when they are speaking in public. I was a very roudy kid that ended up getting kicked out of his preschool. Somehow my next kindergarten school allowed was somehow able to mnage me for 1-2 years. All of a sudden I became very shy and quiet in elementary school starting first grade. Was it all because of social conditioning I wonder? Even now how do I draw the line between socially appropriate actions vs letting my intrusive actions get the best of me. In my head/my world in kindergarten, I was more my genuine self because I thought it was MY world. But growing up, reality check sets in and I am actually living in a world full of many other clashing realities. I think my actions now is still genuine to the degree that I only choose to do what consequences I can tolerate. Can’t be stomping my foot on the table and shouting, else I’ll be fired from my workplace. I genuinely want to work there more than I genuinely want to let loose and act out. I wonder what your take on this is Julian.
@CNSninja20 күн бұрын
The desire to blend in with a group is ingrained in all of us on such a deep level as part of the ego, the part of us that evolved to protect our very prospects of survival. Think about a group of people living 50,000 years ago, before civilization emerged. They were as much humans as we are, and they were just as intelligent as we are (not as knowledgable, but definitely as intellectually capable.) That group relied on each other for survival and wouldn't have had another group they could just go walk over to and join up with if their own group kicked them out. As a result, being ostracized wasn't just a fear based upon image or structure-being ostracized would be a fundamental and immediate threat to their very survival. These are instincts we're all born with and have to work very hard to overcome. We evolved for hundreds of thousands of years in this way, to exist within this framework. Our psychological and psychosocial evolution lags far behind our societal evolution, and while the ego does still protect us from some legitimate things like wandering bears and cliff edges, it is probably most often no longer actually working in our favor in social situations. We don't need to worry about ostricism in quite the same way anymore (although, with the internet, the world is kind of back to "one big village with nowhere else to go" again, in a way...) But at the end of the day, I'm really only making this overly long comment to illustrate how natural it is to feel yoked by your ego like Zach. Don't beat yourself up about it, but at the same time do abaolutely feel free to consider challenging some of these impulses. A therapist is a great resource for discovering safe and appropriate ways to challenge your ego if you don't trust yourself. I think one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself is to practice inflaming your ego in a controlled way and then ignoring or challenging it as practice. It's really good for you and makes you stronger and more secure. I regularly do things like telling people "You're right, I was mistaken" when I know for sure they're a dumb idiot who's demonstrably wrong about everything lol. It's exercise, just like the gym, but for your mind and personality rather than your body. People who inflame your ego are not a threat to your survival. See them as an opportunity to strengthen yourself by practicing ignoring and overriding your ego. Value them, in a way.

But it’s so automatic, I don’t know how to change that.

@@rubin-healmysocialanxiety702 I’d probably say since high school. While I wasn’t picked on really, I didn’t have many friends. I was always the third wheel, the tag along, the guy without a gf. I was the wallflower, the lowest guy in the group, the butt of the jokes. So I always did this to try to impress people and made a fool of myself. So I started fawning to gain approval. This continued in the military. I joined to make myself proud of myself and to prove I can be “that guy”, but my treatment continued, and actually got even worse. I was treated like garbage and always the butt of every joke. Still didn’t get a gf. Because of these bad experiences I always felt like I needed to hide my military service or that I don’t deserve it. What makes it worse is that because I didn’t go overseas I have people still to this day telling me I’m not a real veteran or just dismissing my service completely. Since I got out of the military, life hasn’t really gotten better. I started looking online for a long distance gf because I couldn’t get on in rl. I met a lot of girls and I eventually did date one and she was a beautiful girl from England, we did video chat and everything. But she was emotionally abusive to me and treated me like crap. I became an alcoholic, suffered from a pornography addiction and didn’t have a job for years. I paid for my own place with the GI bill while I went to college. I’m 32 now. Still never had a REAL gf. Had a few jobs but nothing sticks because I don’t fit in a lot of places and I’m socially awkward due to low self esteem. I’m 5 ft 2 so that plays in to my self esteem and why u believe I’ve always been treated differently. Maybe it’s an excuse though, I don’t know. No matter what I do in life I always get treated the same. This “growth” that people talk about in life, I haven’t experienced it. I hear stories of people accomplishing amazing things and I just think that I struggle with basic life stuff. I recently moved to a different state for a fresh start, kept a job for 7 months, we got a new supervisor who didn’t like me and made my life a living hell and she wore me down until I called in sick and then she fired me. Now I’m jobless, living with a family member, started drinking again, thousands in debt, still no gf. I truly don’t understand why I suffer so much in life. I drink because it’s too painful to be sober. It’s painful just being me. This shows in my body language when I interact with people. It’s a catch 22. I need good experiences to be validated, but in order to have those good experiences, I need to have the confidence and body language of someone who’s a winner. I can’t do that if I’ve lost at every turn. Even if I stay off good, it always ends up crashing. I had a therapist for five years and she didn’t know what to do. You can’t make society treat you differently. Sorry for the rant bro, I just feel stuck in my own hell. I should also mention that my parents got divorced when I was 14 and it was traumatic for me as well. My mom became and alcoholic, made a lot of terrible decisions. My dad was in and out of jail.

@@nickp3949you've made it this far. Recognize your accomplishments and mark those down as a win. Another win, you are aware and confronting yourself. What I see, you're stuck in comparison mentality. Infatuating the idea of a gf. Earning her starts with trusting in yourself. Any gf just wants her man to believe in hisself. Prioritize inner work of faith, love and determination. This is a pretty cool one that I've seen. It's almost as if Julian is the playable character who takes NPCs and recodes them to be playable characters. This also impacts me in the way that I believe about things, that is reality. This is what just came to me. Jesus talks about a scenario of when you get the house clean from a demon. It needs to be filled otherwise when the demon comes back, it'll come back with worse ones than it. It's always been taught that way, so I need to fill the house. Here it is: Well being one in Christ, God has already filled me and there is no more room. So having to deal with "demons" coming out, reality is the wholeness of being filled is already there. Because everything is already complete, but not yet. That's why God and I have to get them out. But I'm already filled when they get out, if I believe. Also, being a slave reminds me of Paul The apostle talks about in Romans either a slave to the natural of sin or slave to God of righteousness.

We are all slaves of something within us! Let’s start releasing and letting go of the things hold us slaves! Be the slave of God! For he has given you the ultimate freedom and created you free of these hypotheses! Nowadays people are EXTREMELY running away from the within and living such a miserable lives by coping and being unaware of the reality inside of them!

"what are the beliefs? what are the assumptions? where did they come from? why do i believe this? whats scary about questioning or challenging this, whats scary about letting go of this, and that is how you free yourself" just a clip could be helpful to the questioning part. 12:10

Honestly I'm more likely to date someone like Zach then I would be Julien. Julien has some good points but people who just don't care what anyone else thinks and do whatever they want can be exhausting. I tend to enjoy being around people who are a little more reserved.

@@earthvarietyi dont think julien is crazy in his everyday life as he is in his videos. He is this way in his videos to show people that if he can act crazy, then you can act like yourself which most likely wont be as extreme as how he acts here. The comment says "i love zach the way he is"..most likely, zach is not like this when he is his comfortable self. He needs to work on bringing that comfortable-self out whenever he shys away. The point is not to act crazy. The point is bring out your authentic-self. And even your authentic-self might need some work if you are not being socially aware of how you make others feel
@ettel8358Ай бұрын
It's not really about what you want or the kind of person you'd date. It's about him. He went to the seminar because he doesn't like how he is, he wants to learn to love himself. Other people telling him they prefer him the way that he doesn't prefer himself isn't a help for him.

Also i used to have extreme social anxiety but one day i used my adrenaline at school to get up and sit at this pretty girls lunch table and talk to her. This was 15 years ago and i still remember today. When you REALLY breakthrough you realize what your capable of and everything seems alot easier suddenly. Also over the course of years of putting myself out of my comfort zone has helped as well. Put yourself in social situations. One of the most powerful thing i learned was to be successful you have to put yourself in the right position to be successful. Really opened my mind to realizing its all about the situations you put yourself. Also the not always trusting yourself in this video is a great GEM you gave us. Thank you!

But the reason this dude is shy is because he have passed a narcissist obedience training. It's when everything is wrong about you and every behavior was punished with reaction every time. Just like a dog training. School is a perfect place where it is happening. And if you afraid of that treatment - you'll compete for joining the narcissist as a minion. Classic
