I stumbled upon a King Gleeok and it was pretty cool

So I was chilling in Tears of the Kingdom when I saw a lonely little island above the Gerudo Desert, and I figured that I wanted to see what was on it.
Turned out that there was a big bad dude up there.
Super fun little battle, good times were had.

Hey, I only said it took a long time. D: Slowly floating up there with the hoverbike was a bit of an effort, I had to use one of those big zonai charges to make it all the way. I actually tried using a balloon at first as I didn't want to have to steer all the way up, but the balloon would always despawn before getting all the way there. :c

@@ShinobuX99 I did get there with a balloon. Well, more than one. I got as close as I could, made 3 Ballons. Glued 2 together and used the last one. When it started blinking green i used the next... Had to hold them with ultra hand the whole time... It was a loot of work just to be oneshoted 2 Seconds after getting up there... I then never came back and decided to do the fairys for better armor and perhaps more than 4 hearts...

I remember the first time I encountered a king gleeok, it was the island over that one place by lurelin village (the big island in the middle of the water). I didn't know what it was at first, so when I finally managed to get up there, I was like "YES I MADE IT!" And then I saw a three headed dragon fly across my screen and I was like, "I MADE A MISTAKE!" XD

Yup, this was me too in my first tries. I couldn't defeat it so I leveled up my knight armor, got some strong weapons, rocket shields and learned it's attacks, and boom!!! I defeated it!!!

Very bad job tbh. Just use a Savage Lynel bow with Keese Eyes arrows and you always stun them. You won't even have to use rocket shields or other means to get slo-mo and won't have to deal with that last phase bullcrap like the guy in the video😂 I cringed so much because how can someone perform THAT bad and get hit by every projectile possible tf😂 Killing them in two stun rounds is so easy tbh

I spent 30 minutes trying to get to the westernmost island in the Hebra sky, not knowing what was there, and SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER, IT'S A KING GLEEOK *land, immediately save* *campfire and pinecones and Keese arrows* *died 4 times, got knocked off island once and had to reload save* *had just enough time after killing the King Gleeok to run around the island gathering materials and booking it to the chest before a Blood Moon happened* *King Gleeok respawned* "good talk, bye"

What is it? For uh...Research purposes.

@@theinstrumentalist1311 the central piece is the Turbine Propeller thingy which you'll only get in the shrine in east akkala, in the middle of the spiraling way. Build it inside, get out of the shrine and build it again outside from autobuild history. Put 4 Beam Emitters on each blade and the whole thing on a stake. Voilá, beam Gatling. If you put that in front of a Gleeok as soon as you get him to the ground for the first time the fight is cakewalk. The Gatling takes care of all the damage, all you have to do is keep him on the ground by shooting his eyes again as soon as he tries to get up. Easier if you pull out a spring / Rocketshield / Bombshield during the downtime. Keep in mind that this thing consumes the maxed out battery more or less exactly to kill a Gleeok. Hope this helps your Research ;-)

Try using keese eyeball arrows as it starts to fly up in the final sequence. They go very far up and can knock it straight back down for you to finish off

Master Sword is useless in the game it seems I usually use i9t as my base weapon then switch to the legit heavy duty stuff that seems to have WAY more attack.....I even attach stuff to it, which doesn't seem to help its durability or anything else....

I went to that far island out of curiosity and stumbled across the King Gleeok, thankfully I already had a stockpile of materials, arrows, and savage lynel bows I got farming the floating coliseum in the depths. I literally had him stun locked the entire fight by spamming monster eyes with arrows. Two fights and he didn't hit me once, and I don't mind feeling overpowered, this game is just a power fantasy for me 😆😆😆

I got a treasure map that marked a spot in the depths, when I went to go claim my reward, I found a King Gleeok waiting for me. It's the first and only time I fought one, it took a while, but I beat it... I think that no matter what the reward is, it will be underwhelming after that kind of fight.

Tip: ThunderStrikes from a thudner gleeok are not able to damage you if you have a lightning helm, so use a lightning helm in its special/final attack, since you then can ride the ice up, and dodge the flame gleeoks (Tsar Bomb)

I spent an entire hour trying to build a vehicle capable of getting me up there, eventually I set on placing a balloon on top of a falling debris to start from high up (the balloon didnt last long enough to get there from the ground). After many failed attempts, I got high enough, jumped into the island and went "Finally! I wonder what's in here!" As I finished that sentence in my mind and take my camera out of the stone it was behind, I see it coming towards me full of anger, and I merely stand still in disbelief as the rage of the 3 elements destroys my body

One thing I don't like about the Gleeok fights is that they don't respect armor attributes like normal enemies do, like I tried using the thunder helm against a lighting gleeok and learned the hard way that I am never truly immune to ALL lightning damage. Although now that I've said this I do realize that I was probably just coping and that it would probably ruin the fun of the boss fight in retrospect.

I actually think that the armor system is kinda busted in these games overall, and I generally consider it a good thing when a game does retain a level of challenge even with the right equipment. But even with special resistances aside, just having a fully upgraded 3-piece armor set basically reduces almost every single bit of damage that the game can throw at you to single hearts of damage, which ends up being completely negligible when you start getting up to 30-40 hearts. I just recently fully upgraded The Wild set, which totals a armor rating of like 84 or something, and almost every enemy now deals a quarter heart of damage per hit. It's cool that the Fairy upgrades are so worthwhile, but I end up feeling a bit bummed out over how this completely eliminates the tension that a fight can have. Maybe I should just play through the rest of the game without these upgrades to give myself a more balanced experience or something.

this is the king Gleeok I found as well, I actually once I got up there, I put a Travel Medallion right away so I can warp up there anytime I want. So once I'm ready I can attempt to fight it....I got a few devices I can use now.....but once he goes into the air, and I read he goes further up than the Ice Gleeok does....so....best of luck everybody.....unless someone created a "king Gleeok Death Machine" of some sort that can fly up to THAT height....

They're sand-seal plushies. You can find them lying around in Riju's bedroom in Gerudo Town, right above the throne room. They're amazing, i highly recommend!

The damage that Gleeoks do is really unforgiving in the early game. I'm sure you'll take them down one day. c: Lynels vary in strength in this order, from weakest to strongest: Red, Blue, White, Silver. The Silver Lynel horns is the strongest fuse material in the game I think, and it looks super cool!

The emulation community has managed some impressive feats to get this game running as well as it is. Many talented people have created mods and fixes that allow for a really great experience. It's been wild to see how people have been able to get the game to a nearly perfect state in such a short amount of time. Mad respect to everyone who has contributed. Running the game at 60fps or above is still fairly CPU-demanding though, but even my relatively old i9-9900K manages it in most areas of the game.

I go to the island with the same vehicle, start hight, shoot 3 times with a 5X bow and keese eyeballs, get any weapon (scimitar of the 7 is the best) and shoot as soon as it gets up and repeat. Will take you a minute with the right weapons

Quick tip: when u fall off a ledge like how hb did in the beginning, jump from the wall and go into bullet time, once ur in bt fuse a platform to an arrow and shoot below u, then just glide onto the platform. And don’t forget to use keese eyeballs when the enemy farther than usual, as it adds extra distance

@@mayaa.ajtuncastillo4942 Bullet time is when Link uses his bow mid air and it slows down time, I assume by platform they mean hover stone. If you have one in your inventory under Zonai devices you can fuse it, shoot it in bullet time then jump on it and it'll float mid air (hence the name hover stone.) This is also great for recovering stamina when you're trying to glide super far :D It's not a glitch btw, just it's function.

I spent hours trying to reach the King Gleeok island above Gerudo Desert, despite having only two batteries of power. I assembled a balloon, cart, and flame emitter, brought it right beside one of those rocks that fall from the sky, and used ultrahand on it while recall was doing it's thing with the rock. After the balloon and I plummeted back to the ground, I'd get on my makeshift hot-air balloon (note that I had yet to discover autobuild), use recall to bring it all the way back up, and then activate it when it was already pretty high above ground. It still wound up despawning before I could make it there, but I still managed to get pretty close. ;)

Yo, that's so relatable. I started by trying basically the same method. I'd attach a balloon to a sky rock and then recall it and activate the balloon, but it would still despawn just a little bit below the island. I tried to find ways to build a new balloon while in the air so that I could make up the rest of the distance, but I never managed to get it to work. :c In the end I had to brute-force it by slowly flying up there with the hoverbike thing.

I founf the best way to attack it is the keeses eyes and a rocket shield so before you start to attack it make sure all your shields have a rocket attached to them have plenty of arrows and keese's eyeballs THEN when you use the rocket go as high as you can then attack said eyeball and hit it unitl its stunned (plus i didn't kill this one i killed a different one...)

Imho silver lynel harder than normal gleeok. For gleeok mostly arrow fusion does all the work

Lol seriously? Lynel just spam arrows to the face until under half health, then jump on their back and finish them off in 6 back strikes or less. They never even get an attack off on me.

phase 2 of king gleeok is so annoying(unless you have the thunder helm) that it's how I learned to make sure they stayed down. Can't make stormblizzards if I keep knocking it down before it really takes off!

When I accidentally encountered this dragon it was early in the game and I was just terrified, hiding behind that column. Then eventually I put a teleportation thing on the geound and jumped off the island to go as far away from the dragon as possible

The best strategy I thought of was before it did its disaster attack (below the 30% HP Attack). Focus your strength on the electric head to increase your chances of success.

I got to that island just by launching out of the G Highlands Tower and gliding over there 🤷‍♂️
