Nothing to except about the video, just one small thing. The whole point of Claptrap (the robot) is to be insanely obnoxious to the point that amoung the first things Handsome Jack did when he claimed ownership of Hyperion was to terminate the CLP-TP robot line and actively hunting down remaining specimens. Claptrap is the last of its kind, thankfully (kind of... but it's a technicality). In his introduction, Sir Hammerlock had him electrocuted by a fence at the beginning of BL2 because I quote "Apologies but when Claptrap speaks, I feel my brain cells committing suicide one by one".

With or without experience in playing the games, doesn't protect it from badness, and in fact, it's even worse for fans of the games to experience this film... The director actually said in an interview that he wanted to make a sci-fi movie using a bunch of various ideas from other movies, and not an actual Borderlands movie... That alone, tells you everything you need to know why it is such a failure... I believe the director and some unknown writer both wrote the script...

Thank god after hearing the extremely negative reviews from critics and fans, I decided to skip and avoid this Borderlands movie at all costs. From now on, I’ll be very careful what kind of movie I get hyped and excited because at the end of the day, it will fail to meet expectations. Not even some good actors like Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis can save this messy film. It’s definitely game over for them given the fact Borderlands is bombing at the box office. What a shame because I thought we are now living in an era where video game adaptations finally gets the appreciating it deserves thanks to the success of Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2, Uncharted, The Super Mario Bros Movie, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and two tv series: The Last of Us and Fallout. Although I will admit, I enjoy other movies based on video games such as Mortal Kombat (both 1995 and 2021), Prince of Persia, and Warcraft. Good thing I saw Deadpool and Wolverine much better and it is so far the best film I saw in 2024. Better wait for Alien Romulus is a good idea.

I played both Borderlands 1 and 2. The other 3 main characters in BL1 are Roland, Brick and Mordecai. Tiny Tina, Mad Moxxie and Claptrap are all side characters. Krieg isn't even from BL1, he's a DLC playable character in BL2. Tina also looks older then her game counterpart. Krieg just looks like a generic Psycho, ingame, he is larger then the other Psychos. Claptrap sounds like the only character properly realised, he is meant to be insufferably annoying. And they should have used the voice actor from the game, considering he is a CGI character. I got the impression this is just a lightly flavoured Borderlands imitation product and not a genuine recreation of the game's legacy.

Even the trailer seemed misplaced. Espcially if you have played the games & know the chars. They basicly miscast everyone. Even someone as you as Tiny Tina .. a thin akward 13 year old who is hiding her mental issues by playing even younger than she is .. who is played by a "bulky" 16 year old actor who seem to be afraid to get hurt "skipping about". Feels completely wrong like most of the actors. The Borderlands games are 100s hours games so you get to know the chars & world a lot, even though a lot of the time is just spend running around shooting things, there is actual plot & char developement in the games. I will admit that they managed to capture the look/worldbuilding quite well, including outfits. Sadly that is all they managed to do witch is sad because the Borderlands certainly has some good stories to tell well.

I LOVE Cate Blanchett but I won't lie that she wasn't the first actress on my mind for Lilith. I'd hoped she'd at least be able to retain her hard edge. Roland is supposed to be militant, stoic, and deep-voiced... Obviously that's not Hart. Dr. Tannis I'm least offended by, as I only remember her being a condescending scientist. She's not a fighter or sexualized or anything, so I don't think her age is overly important to her character. Hearing she apparently raised Lilith in the movie definitely makes Blanchett's casting even stranger though, haha.

He has produced some good films like Blade 1 and 2, X-Men 1 and 2, Spider-Man 1 and 2, Hulk, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, MCU Spider-Man films, and the animated SpiderVerse. However in my opinion, X-Men 3: The Last Stand, the two 2000s Fantastic Four films with Jessica Alba, and Ghost Rider (2007) were not as bad as everybody say they were. They were entertaining to watch in my opinion. Daredevil was okay though the director’s cut was better. The Venom movies are guilty pleasures in my opinion. Uncharted was not so bad. It was an exciting fun adventure film. Avi Arad has no involvement with the rest of MCU films including the Avengers films. He also has no involvement in later X-Men films such as the Wolverine trilogy, First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, and the Deadpool films.
